Title: Nichi Tsukinoko here! Hi!
Post by: NichiTsukinoko on October 02, 2014, 08:00:37 PM
Hello everyone. I haven't really been active here for awhile. I've been continuing to customize though. I just haven't been making the time to get on and show everyone what I've been up too. Oops.

So I thought I would make a post saying hi and showing the customs I've done. I don't have pictures of all of them, I had a computer glitch and lost some of the pictures. I've been trying to get the owners to send me picts, when they have time to do so, so hopefully I'll have all of them to show off soon.

So here are the ones I do have, in no particular order:

Little Piece of Rainbow was a commission from someone who was a fan of the "Rainbow of Light" custom I did for the Saturday morning cartoon swap of 2010.

Starlite was a gift to a friend. He was made with a g2 McDonald pony and Embroidery Floss.

Katana Driver was a commission. He started off as a g2 pony and has been fully sculpted to become a g4 stallion.   He was named by the woman who commissioned him. He was named after her and her husband's favorite brand of Disc Golf gear.

Baby Bubbles was made as a trade. She was a baity newborn. Now she's an amazing Baby Bubbles.

Baby Tiddlywinks was a commission custom re-hair. She was a gift for a 18 month old who had just been diagnosed as deaf. She is now a teaching aid and has been used to teach that little girl the ASL signs for "sleep" and "Awake" and "horse".

This was a Medley that I got. She had lost most of her glitter symbols and her hair was a mess. She has been lovingly restored and was given as a gift to my baby's godmother as a thank you for hosting her first birthday.

Banana surprise was a 2 year labor of love. When I got her she was in terrible shape. Almost completely bald, what little hair that was left was in bad shape. She had been drawn all over. It took 1.5 years of sunfading before I get could get all the ink off all of her sides. Once that was done, she got a fresh paint job for her 3d symbol and new hair. She currently lives with me, but I'm sure she would love a new forever home if anyone was interested.

This pony was originally a g4 Rainbow dash. Now she is a G4 Medley. She lives in my collection. :)

That's it for now. If I can get a few more pictures of the other restores I've done, I'll post them. Thanks!

Thanks! I have an airnbrush now, so those are the last of the hand painted FBR's.   I'm just finishing up my first air brushed custom. I can't post it yet though, it's for a swap.  But future ponies will probably have Ombra effects and will be airbrushed, which will mean smoother FBR's. I'm really excited about that.

Hi Nichi! Great to see you and your work again. ^.^ I love the custom Banana Surprise, what a great restoration/customization project. Poor pony! Her new hair is gorgeous, I love the blend and the curls. Nice work on the others too, Baby Bubbles especially is adorable!

Thanks everyone! Colorscapesart and Griffin, Hi!  I can't wait to show off my new stuff here soon.  I've got an airbrushed g4 and an airbrushed and rehaired baby sea pony coming up in the very near future.  Plus I'm in the middle of restoring a Raincurl that was rescued from a daycare's "going out of business" sale.  Also some Halloween/Fall themed customs.

Diamond, I loved how Baby Bubbles turned out. The Newborn I used, someone had previously tried to customize and gave up. She was all Silver and it took forever to strip the paint off.  But I got it! I think it turned out really quite well.  And now she has a mommy and lives in someone's herd.  :)

Banana Surprise was a labor of love.  I always thought she deserved a better color scheme than what she got originally.  I was happy to give this girl a new life with a more delicious color scheme.

hey Nichi!
Love the rainbow pony. And the repainted/ rehaired Banana surprise I think those colors go nicer on her then just the standard blueish hair.

How did you get the embroidery floss in that little G2? I like the way that tail turned out.

I actually did it the same way I do regular pony tails. I can't remember if I widened the tail hole or not, but I know I pulled the floss tail through using a silk ribbon.  Silk seems to hold up really well, even if it's a tight fit it doesn't break. Love that stuff.

Also: I forgot to post another pony that I did:
