Title: How common is Cotton Candy?
Post by: Saphraira on September 21, 2014, 10:56:51 PM
I wanted to start a pony army but I wan't to do it of the most common G1 that there is, is that Cotton Candy? I got the impression it was. If she is it would be nice because I can find her in Mint to Bait condition giving them some verity.

What can you tell me?

Yes Cotton Candy is extremely common however the MOST common pony of all has got to be Peachy ;)

Whoa earlier I decided I'm 99% sure I'm starting a Cotton Candy army myself!  She's just so precious.

But yeah, she's super common, right behind Peachy, it seems.

I have a Cotton Candy army in progress also. I love how she ranges from peachy pink, salmon pink and a nice bubble gum pink shade.  One thing I have noticed with them is they all look a bit different,  bangs and eye xolor and some have different leg shapes.

Cotton Candy, Peachy and Blossom are the three I come accross most often, myself. Majesty is up there for me, too! I love the CP ponies because of color variation plus they come in concave foot and flat foot versions, so that adds a whole new group of the same pony to collect!

I agree Peachy has to be the most common - Cotton Candy is cool though because there are soooo many different variations of her.

Oh, dear. You don't know what you're letting yourself in for by collecting armies of either Cotton Candy OR Peachy...you start with the North American versions, then you find out about the Nirvana variants from all over the world, then you're in trouble!! I wish you luck!

Is Peachy really the most common?  I know she has the most variations, but I never come across her in the wild, and I find Cotton Candy quite often.

Peachy was the only pony (sea ponies not included) from my childhood that I lost.  Every time we moved (every 6 months), she would go missing, and when we packed to move again we would find her.  My mom bought the house she's in now when I was 6, and Peachy never turned up again. I didn't manage to get her in 15 years of collecting until this year!  Seashellnbubbles sent me a beautiful one, that looks just like the one I had.

You can never have too many Cotton Candys!!! I have a rather unintentional army but every time I sell one I have major regrets, so I put them to one side :D

Bowtie is my army pony, but I almost considered Pony Bride because she's that pony that always seems to come back to me!

Good luck on your travels. Cotton Candy is a great pony. My mother, who is not a MLP fan, loves her, so she has one that she keeps on her bookshelf.

From my own experience, Moondancer, Peachy, and Cotton Candy are the most common (in that order) and yes, each CC seems to have some slight variation from the others, especially eye and body color. For someone like me, who only wants one of each, that makes it really hard to decide which to keep!

I would agree with Peachy being the most common but Cotton Candy is pretty close behind.

However, for an army you should really pick a pony you like; not necessarily the pony easiest to come across but a pony you like. Yes, making it a reasonably priced pony is a good idea as Mimic armies could be pretty expensive to gather. But the fun of collecting an army is to do it gradually and enjoy the pony you are collecting.

Just based on my own experiences alone I know I have come across more SB Serbet ponies than anything else. Strange right? I keep hearing Peachy and CC, but I have gotten more of Sherbert than anything!

Must just be a Canada thing. She's abundant in the US...
