I am completely addicted to these suckers. I've picked up two AppleJacks and two Rainbow Dashes so far. Who are you mixing?

awesome!!! I haven't mixed mine up but I have rarity, luna, and pinkie. Can't wait to have them all.
-
The POP-ularity (har har har) a'hem, kind of mystifies me. :) Someone sell me on them! I saw them at the fair, but I don't get the appeal. What is so cool about them? My kids don't get it either. I mean nothing negative here. I'm truly trying to understand. ;)

I Guess is kinda Pony-Lego type of appeal, But never been into Legos :) so they are a pass for me , but is cool to see them , the ones on the pic look nice :)
-
I'm not into them either, I just like seeing them because I think they're different to what I'm used to :)
-
It really is the lego/transformer vibe for me. I love taking things apart and putting them back together. It sparks creativity too!
-
I love all the different possible combinations!
it let's me make Non Mane 6 six!
Here's what I've done with mine!

No worries, they don't really sing to me either. But it's still fun seeing what people do with them, because they seem to be really versatile. :)
-
I have only bought fluttershy but I plan on getting lyra, luna, and rarity.
-
So, pony themed building toy? :)
I guess, I wish there were more options! Like, I want to swap heads and legs and make different proportions if I'm going to build ponies. Thanks for the explanation!
-
I haven't really done anything with the mixing and matching, but I had a lot of fun getting to pop them out of the plastic and putting together - always loved that as a kid. :) I guess something a little more satisfying to just opening and displaying.
-
I will admit to largely not quite getting the concept either but I do understand that they are trying to go with the creativity thing. Like a lesser version of Mattels much more imaginative Create A Monster concept. I just think its less that I like them and more that if they were going to go with the create a pony idea they could have done so much more with it.
-
I don't have any of the pop ponies yet, but I have just ordered pinkie pie's sweet shop.

I'm excited because its the first g4 play set I've really wanted! Hopefully it's as cute as it looks in those pics, in real life! :P

Same! I finally wandered into this thread to try and wrap my head around this one.
-
I didn't get to see them at the fair nor have I ordered any yet, kind of not sold on them
-
They're really cute! I think everyone should give them a try :)
-
I like the concept but there is something lacking in execution. I would have rather that they had been a little larger, on scale with the playful sized ponies, with "real" hair options (not a fan of the yarn hair), and as "blank flanks" so that you could really customize your own ponies.
I do love the play set though and am anxiously waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I really hope that we get more play sets like that.
-
I have always thought these were ADORABLE!! I want to collect ALL of these!! Im waiting for my Walmart to get them (manager said maybe in two weeks!) because of my employee discount. I cant wait to photo spam this thread!
-
Okay, huh, thanks for explaining these, guys! I hadn't really seen them other than in pictures on Amazon. I didn't realize you were supposed to mix and match. Makes a lot more sense now!
-
The yarn hair seems very ... not well thought out or something? I can see kids really liking these, like lego ponies for sure.
-
While I still like them and plan to get a few, it would have been better if they were blank flanks since they come with stickers anyways. Oh well a bit of acetone will take care of that.
-
I think they're really cute! I have yet to buy any, but I really want Luna, Fluttershy and Pinkie's Sweet Shoppe. I'm waiting for a sale, but I wish I had some pics to share ^^ everyone keep posting their photos! It's neat to see what you can do with them.
-
more! got my Zecora set.

They look really cute, Gabumon :D I love that foam mane. I think I might need Zecora, too <3 I'm going to have the worst urge to paint her muzzle!
-
Thanks!.
Yeah another "Benefit" of these.... is now I'm like: "Hey now I have little accessories and bits to put in all those little MLP tins i have laying around!"
wait...
-
Has anyone customized them yet? I feel like they have a lot of unrealized potential- the hair they come with is kind of funny, but I am wondering how much more awesome they could possibly look with the right customizer?
It might be a fun contest actually
For sure I'll be getting a few of these for my niece, she is a pony and lego nut, so she's going to love them
-
They're not really my thing, but they do look super cute!
-
I have a student who got 2 Zecoras and 1 Rainbow Dash. We have so much fun playing with those little guys, they are our villains who always try to abduct the other ponies. Next time I should try to take some photos.
I love that fluffy hair! Which pony does it come with?
-
They are cute in a different way. Just don't do anything for me and my daughter says no on them. I do love seeing others post pictures of them though. :)

That sounds hilarious XD The fluffy mane I think belongs to Luna ^^
-
I picked up Zecora today, since I don't own any Zecora yet! Her little jewelry is super fun - I'm using her bracelet as a tail wrap. Sure one of her earrings flew across the room when I was getting it out of the packaging, but I found it eventually.
The different textures of mane would be pretty fun for a kid. But the visible stitching on the fringed mane bugs me, so I'm using the purple and teal one. Maybe I should get another Zecora to paint up the hard mane in her grey and white. Then I'd have an extra body, but I did have an irresistible urge to make her a Nightmare Night mane and dress...
I actually like it more than I thought, right down to the crosshatch-textured stripes and faux heart-shaped button joints. Even the smaller scale isn't so bad sitting next to a G4 baby pony.
-
Awesome pictures everyone :)
-
I just got in the playset today and it is so cute! It also has different options for the doors and windows so you can change them out when ever you want. I will post pictures later. :)
-
Thanks for the out of package photos, guys! It really helps explain the concept.
I'm not 100% in love with the idea. And if they were a little cheaper, I might have picked them up. I pick up a lot of 'meh' ponies if they are inexpensive enough lol. But at $10 a pop (heh heh) this is too pricey for something I don't feel that strongly about.
I'm not sure why the $10 price tag for a single Pop! pony. They are 1.) smaller than a brushable 2.) plastic seems to be a lower quality than the brushables as well and 3.) yeah there's a couple extra accessories/hair but not a lot
All that I think would add up to a price tag less than $10. *shrug* Maybe it's for novelty's sake?

Actually the only ones that are supposed to be $10 are the ones that come with a bunch of furniture for the playset. The deluxe singles that come with extra sets of hair are supposed to be $7 and the basic singles that only come with one set of hair are supposed to be $3. However it can vary since when I saw the tags at kmart the basic singles were $5 tho brushables are $7 there.
-
Yeah mine weren't that much. AJ was $4 and Rainbow dash was $6. The plastic is just as good quality, it's just a different type
-
I got some!!! The rest Im buying in the twin packs or playset things. I LOVE these!!! There's coupons on them too!!! I got $4 OFF any 3 Pop sets! Squeee! The small starter packs are $3.99, the deluxe starter packs are $7.99, and the bigger sets were $10. Am I the only one who thinks they are cheap? Especially since some have coupon stickers on the fronts?

I do! I'd pay for them than some of these prices for brushables. These are interactive. Lol
-
I haven't bought any yet, but I really like them! As a kid I would have wanted a couple and then I would have begged mom to buy me some felt and fun fur so I could make my own custom manes. I can see a lot of potential for customization! I hope people in here post pictures and maybe do some unique designs of their own!
-
So it's really just swapping manes and tails? I was hoping you could do heads and legs too. And COME ON! Give us cutie marks on both sides!
-
It would be cool if they had blank flanks and stickers you could choose to use as cutie marks. Plus blank stickers to make your own!
-
i really like them.
i'm a fan of molded hair, love the shape of the face and just generally think they are cute.
course they aren't brushables, but i will still find a way to customize these. (mwhahahahahah)
i think my niece will like them cuz she likes to dress up the ponies, change their hair. think it gives kids a chance to make their own ponies. kinda like what us adult do for ponysonas, but something more tangible. i think it's a really cute idea, and hope they make more ponies. i just wish they had the ability to make any of the alicorns.
my niece so dreams of all 6 becoming princesses.

They come with stickers already but including some wipe off markers (I wonder if the ones that come with the big Design a Pony would work) would have been a neat idea. All you need to do is quickly hit the Cutie Mark with some acetone and it's good to go.

Ok, here are the pics of my play set as promised. Mrs. Cake is modeling with it. I had been waiting to open her until I had her home!

I am thinking of getting my paints out and painting the stripes on the candies on the side.
-
At first I wasn't liking these but the more pics I see of them out and put together, the more they grow on me. I think I'm gonna pick up a set tomorrow when I'm out if I see them :) I love that the playset looks large enough for the brushables, cute for displaying them :)
-
just got applejack. and i think i decided to try making my own hair, tail and wings for flash sentry.
anybody know anything about making molds?
-
Oh that house is so cute. I had talked myself out of it thinking it wouldn't be very good size wise with the brushables, but in fact it is perfect...
But no more plastic playsets! At least until we move...

Oh cool! My Toys-R-Us had the smaller POP! sets on the wrong peg, with the $10 price tag above it. :P I can only imagine how many parents reacted like me and dragged their kids away thanks to that mis-priced peg.
Now that I see the variety of prices, I think they are quite affordable! Thanks guys! :)

I don't know what TRUs prices on these are since they tend to be a little more expensive. I was just going by hasbrotoyshop and Kmart. I still doubt it's the basic singles going for $10 but they could be the deluxe ones with the extra hair. That said I'm waiting until Walmart has them since they tend to have them right at MSRP.
-
ya we paid $3 for AJ
-
I love the Pop ponies! I need to take photos of mine, but I have the Luna/Rarity set, Zecora, Applejack, and the Pinkie Pie house. And I need MORE! All of the ponies!
-
Yea! Sunset, thanks for posting photos of the playset- it looks awesome! I can't wait till mine arrives! You should totally paint stripes! :P
-
Here's a picture of my pop ponies. :-D I rather like the pop idea, it's similar to the Create-A-Monster theme in MH.
I have Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Lyra, & Zecora.
