Title: Price Comparison by Country!
Post by: Loa on August 03, 2014, 06:28:36 PM
This is an oldie but a goodie!

How much do ponies cost in your country?
Let's have a common pony comparison.

Basic Pinkie Pie - $9.99 NZD (http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/product/My-Little-Pony-Figure-Assorted?SKU=1513157)

Princess Twilight Sparkle - $99.99 NZD (http://www.thewarehouse.co.nz/red/catalog/product/My-Little-Pony-Princess-Sparkle?SKU=1720666)

Show us how cheap or expensive they are in your home!

Oooh! This always makes me realise I have little to moan about - in the UK we seem to hover in the middle between the good prices of the US and the crazy prices of you guys.

Here a basic Pinkie would be £4.99 and the giant Twilight mostly retails at £39.99.

For the US a basic Pinkie would be $4.99 and the giant Twilight retails at $40.00 I am getting those prices from Walmart. :) The Giant Twilight Sparkle was a lot more originally at Toys R Us for $64.99.

Uh... what Giant Twilight? O.o By the way, here basic ponies are from 6 euros to 12, depending of the shop, but might have to check better

Australia isn't much better, a basic Pinkie would be $9-11 AUD and the giant talking PTS retailed originally for $99 AUD but she's come down around $80 AUD in most stores as time went by.

I found mine on sale half price at Target for only $40. Same price as the brand new styling size Rainbow Power PTS. :P

My local toy shop has the brushable singles at $5.99, but target and meijer are like $4.99 and Walmart is $4.98!

Basic ponies seem to be at 10,90€ currently here in Finland... It's higher than I remembered, then again everything is ridiculously expensive here.

I checked a catalogue from a store which has lower prices on ponies.
Basic pony: ≈ $10
Decorating pony: ≈$20
Set of 3 minis: ≈$12
So soft: ≈$35
Regular? EQG doll: ≈$28
Rainbow Rocks EQG Deluxe?: ≈$43

Someone is trying to sell blind bags for $7,5 per bag (http://www.ekupi.hr/Mlp-Poni-Vrecica-289127.aspx) + $3,5 for shipping  (Divide by 5,5 to get price in US dollars)

EDIT: I totally forgot to mention that these are prices in Croatia

Toysrus website prices in the U.S.
That Giant Twilight SParkle WAS $65.99 (but on sale pretty fast for around $45 or so). Very recently she went on clearance for $24.99! http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=20323776&cp=&parentPage=search

Basic Pinkie is $5.49 regularly, and $4.19 on sale right now. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11004800&cp=&parentPage=search

1 USD = 1.18 Kiwi Dollar
           = .75 Euro
          =  .59 GBP!

No wonder I can't buy anything in the UK these days...

At meijer where I buy g4s, a basic pinkie pie is anywhere from 4-5$ and the huge princess twilight sparkle was 50$ if I recall

10.99 € for a basic Pinkie at the moment on TRU's website.
What Giant Twilight? We don't get any cool stuff here.
49.99 € for talking Princess Celestia though. Funnily it's "only" 36.99 € for Cadance.
This Rainbow Dash EQG (http://www.toysrus.fi/serier/my-little-pony/my-little-pony-equestria-girls-nukke-ja-asusteet-rainbow-dash?id=895363&vid=533461b) is now on clearence! Only 26.99 €, was 36,99!
Trixie Doll is now 24.99€, 50% off
And for a blindbag you'll need to pay 3.00 € at TRU, or if you think it's too cheap you can come to where I work at and pay 3.95€. That's about 5 USD.

Things seem to be the worst for countries where the currency is devalued. RIght now the U.S. dollar seems pretty dang low, but I think the Finnish Markkah is low too right now?

I can't even begin to pretend to understand this finance stuff.  When my wife and I went in to re-negotiate our mortgage rate, the financial lady started talking and my eyes immediately glazed over. At some point I glanced over at my wife and noticed the same expression and realized we were in trouble.

The USD isn't doing so hot right now, but ponies are still $5 USD at Walmart. They also had some really basic brushables around easter for $3 USD, but I think those are harder to find now.

The Equestria Girls doll + pony sets seem to hover about $21.99 USD, which still seems like a lot to me. Looking at other posts in this thread, I don't think I should complain though.

I know I shouldn't laugh but...  :haha: This is so true. Made me giggle! Welcome to Finland...

Galactica, we have had Euro as currency since 2002. ;)

Yeah, Elwyn, sometimes I don't know wether to cry or just giggle hysterically when looking at our prices.

The large Talking Princess Twilight Sparkle was first 70 euro's. But now 44. Regular brushables are now around 6-7 euros each.

In Poland, basic Pinkie Pie is 31,99 PLN (around $10) and big, talking Twilight Sparkle is 246,99 PLN (around $80). Big Cadance is 111 PLN ($34), and Equestria Girls dolls are between 100 - 150 PLN ($30 - $50).
I wonder why Twilight is worth so much more than Cadance? I always knew, that she is best princess, but still...

I was lucky to score giant Twilight on clearance at Meijers for $13.50:D She was $24.99 for awhile, and averaged about $34-$39.99 for a while at TRU. Cheapest are the $3 bagged ponies at target.
