-
Ooooh, very nice indeed!
Are there any differences between them, or are they pretty similar?
-
They look beautiful! Thank you for showing them to us. Are they from your childhood? :) If so, you've played very nicely with them.
-
Beautiful pictures and thank you for sharing :)
Love pkw xxx

Very Nice
and having them bought new from the same place... :accomplished:
-
They are virtually identical. One has a head that swivels, the other is still glued. One also has minor factory flaws (a bubble in the plastic, a "beauty mark" black dot under her eye) and their hair sits slightly differently from each other. But it's really splitting hairs between the two of them. They were both bought on the same day in the same toy shop in Dublin. One mine, one my sister's.
Perhaps a peculiar question and apologies if you already answered and I missed it. But do you remember when they were purchased? Were they new and were they on their original cards [in English?]?
-
Ah, I see! Very interesting that they were purchased in Ireland... come to think about it, I have no idea about how Ireland went about selling ponies!
-
Possibly, or it could be more along the lines of Australia, where some ponies were sourced from Hasbro UK, but also from other Hasbros.
-
So pretty !
-
Oh my! Those are breathtaking. Thanks for sharing the photos!
-
They are gorgeous!!!
-
Thats really interesting info! Thank you for sharing. I wonder if the lack of a trading Hasbro subsidiary in Ireland allowed a wider retailer choice from whichever Hasbros they wished? That would be really interesting.
-
gorgeous. how lovely to have them from your childhood too!! x
-
The colours on those ponies are simply lovely :)
-
oh so many thank yous for sharing those pics :-)
I just love they are childhood ponies :-) and so cool on theories of how the oddities (well what we call those nirvana today) were sold back in the day
-
As well as the Bluemoons, I have an Italian Lickety Split and an Italian coral-haired Tickle.
Would it be possible to see some pics of them!!;o))
-
They are beautiful! Thank for for sharing pictures of then with us belueberry.

I can understand that train of thought... it's why ponies like Rapunzel don't appeal to me as well, among others. But they are rare, which can make a difference. You do often find that ponies that are both rare and beautiful command a higher price than those of similar rarity who are less desirable.
-
I have to say I really like monotoned ponies and really don't like the bright hair of the rainbow ponies so these 2 and tickles are a million times better than the normal releases :) Pity it is that they are rare
-
^.^ ^.^ ^.^ so many thanks for the pics!!!! Ok I have an other opinion lol I found Tickle completly AMAZING!!!! she is really cute with her corail hair!! I am in love with all Tickle versions!!!! :P
Many many thanks for sharing such pics ;) ;)
-
What amazing ponies!!!! Thanks so much for sharing your pictures with us
-
I ll agree on Tickle - I have never quite understood the aesthetic on that colour combo :)
Can I ask another question? Were both of these also purchased in Ireland?
-
Wow this pony is so rare to see even one of, let alone two.
I love that they have a provenance too! It should add to the value I think.
Yes they are my childhood ponies, one mine and one my sister's. My daughter was also playing with them until I learned how valuable they are! We always took care of our toys.
They were bought new in a toy shop in Dublin called Pride and Joy. I don't remember what language was on the cards because it was about 25 years ago. It seems likely that it was English but I can't be sure. They were definitely bought new on the cards though. We were so excited because we'd never had unicorn ponies before. But in truth they spent most of the last 25 years in storage even when they were still pretty new. We got bored of our ponies pretty quickly and tended to dump them (and our Barbies) in the toy box. Just as well really
-
They are BEAUTIFUL! :faint:
-
Yes, all our ponies were :)
ETA: It has occurred to me that some of our ponies were actually bought in Northern Ireland as well as in Dublin, where I'm from. I'm not sure if that makes a difference from a market point of view. I'm fairly sure that our Braided Beauty, Pretty Vision and Pony Bride were from up north, as well as the Baby Bonnet School of Dance with its BBE Baby Half Note and the Brush Me Beautiful Boutique which included Kiss Curl.
Thanks for the info :)
That makes sense on the NI items - they would all have been released by Hasbro UK.
-
They are just stunning- thank you for sharing your 2 treasures with us! How cool that they are both from childhood!! :P
-
Aw gosh they are beautiful girls, I remember getting a surprise mummy and twins in Cork city- d'aaah but I no longer have her :yikes: :yikes:
-
On the NI issue, I do think most would have been Hasbro UK issue ponies... I inherited a couple of ponies from a cousin in Lurgan and one was a Grooming Parlour. I had two Peachys as a child - one Macau and one HK - but I'm not sure which came with that parlour! Also had two Twinkles that were different, but same problem, lol! Alas, I can't remember which others she (or her cousin on the other side whose ponies I also played with on visits) had to draw more info.
-
How lovely! They looks as if they are in just about perfect condition!
-
I dont think there is any harm in a very gentle "play" and as long as its done with the realisation that any damage potentially devalues the pony you are at least aware of the situation. Its your pony to do as you please with. :) Although I admit I would be more tempted by the $$$ than the desire to play he he he.
-
Wow! New grail right there!
