It seems they plan to re-release them.
i like the style and desin more than the 2007 ones
it seems there will bore than 4 characters and the way they made them look more appealing and marketed for both boy and girls
what are your thoughts?

We'll see how they look in plush form..... But I do love my vintage Popples!

Hooray! I hope the new ones are cute...
-
Ohhh the art looks super cute, lets hope the toys are to!
-
:/ everything just seems so similar now, like toys all kinda blend together now
-
I had some Popples back in the 80s. They were cute. I didn't like the new line that came out in the early 2000s, though. I don't like the 2015 version, either, going by that drawing. I hope the plush will look better, but I doubt it.
-
They look scary to me! I like the originals better. I don't really remember the remake so I must not have liked them either.
-
Hmm, they're cute but... the original will always be the best! :)
-
Pop, pop, popples! I love the 80's ones. I have a few of the episodes on VHS. The last reincarnation was OK, I managed to find one second hand. We'll see how this goes. If they're going for another round of stuffed merch it needs to be more fuzzy!!
-
The Popples came back in 2007?! I need to catch up with the times! The new ones look quite endearing in a vaguely creepy manner but they don't seem to have quite the same charm as the original ones. I do like the vibrant colours, though.
-
I think these may have potential. I want to see the plush. I'd happily get some for the kiddos, but I think I'll stick with my 80s ones.
-
Those remind me of Tiny Toons!
-
They look pretty cute in the picture, but let's wait and see what the plushies look like. I'm still pretty fond of the originals.

Wait were popples marketed toward girls? Weird, I always thought they were of those sets of toys that all little kids had. Like the "pillow pets". Are pillow pets marketed toward a specific gender and I didn't know it?
I agree with True that alot of toys are all blending together, one toy becomes popular with its 'new' style then everything else jumps on board. I believe thats why the g3.5s look the way they do, they were trying to match littlest petshop, bratz, and all the other big head little body toys that were out around that time. Honestly I get a little angry when I see people who like the big headed littlest petshop toys but hate on g3.5.... they're the same thing....
These are cute, but not very neat to me, they fit the everything out right now being cute but not different enough for me to want them.
On another note, did anyone have the tail come off their popples growing up? My brothers and I use to swing them by the tails and smack each other with them like a pillow fight and eventually everyones ended "popping" off not pun intended.
I'm curious to see what the plushies look like

Yeah, it seems one set of face design and expressions is slapped on everything that's a small furry animal.
-
Actually, I don't think those are too bad. Just 'modernized' with todays kids in mind.
I agree though, the plush HAS to be really fuzzy for it to work.
-
Oh my god I'm so excited
-
Are those popples taking selfies with a fuzzy phone? KIDS THESE DAYS.
Anyway, I may withhold judgement until I see them. I really liked the 80's popples, and I'd be interested to see what the new ones look like.
-
The designs are cute- although I really like the originals too. I loved my Popple. I think they were pretty gender neutral in the 80s- except for a few of the overly pink ones (like mine actually)
-
The artwork is kinda cute, but they just don't look like Popples! But if you remember the old TV show, if some Popples got a hold of someone's phone, horrible things are going to happen...

There 80's ones were neutral and appealing to everyone, they had a geate variery of color convos and lots of boy and girl popples, but with 2007 ones there were only 4 with chibi looking artwork, 3 of them with pink purple pastel color scheme ( the purple being some sort of sparkly princess) being girls and i think there was a boy popple that had horns and was michievous... It looked kind of girl marketed to me :p
Yeah i think is just the way style is defined on each era, at the 80s most cartoons have a similar style, late 80s too with all things hanna barbera, the early 90s had a crazy wombly style specially seen on rugrarts, hey harnold, ah monsters, rocko modern life and more, early 2000 had bubble head style on one side but the " geometry" of house for imaginart friends, fairy odd parents, mlp also falls in that style... Or thats how it looks to me.
I thought the new trend would be the adventure time style but it doesnt seem the case.
-

I see a big difference in style. The petshop toys have more rounded sleek head shapes with bigger eyes that I think work with the big head look better than the lumpy g3.5 heads. Plus they have much smaller bodies. The 3.5 ponies look like they can't decide if they want to have big heads or normal heads. This is just my opinion and reasoning for why I think most LPS animals are cute and the g3.5s are not. Although the LPS ponies are not my favorite of their creatures either.
-
At least they don't have weird antannea like things sticking out of their heads like the 2007 ones did.. But yeah, still like the 80s ones :)
-
I hope the plushes are cute. The drawing is cute, but kind of . . . generic-cute? Like, I wouldn't actually have recognized those as popples if it weren't in a popple related thread.

I definitely agree. Popples' signature thing is their pouches, but we can't see that! These just look like any other knock-off cutesy thing trying to ride the pony train right now.
-
Too cute! I want the pink and white one!
-
The art is colorful and cute. I'm curious to see what the actual product will look like.
-
OMG adorable! I love them! I was only able to get one Popple in the re-release. And I only have a few left to complete my standard collection from the 80's.
-
I had a white popple in the 80's. I think it had blue and red hair or something like that. I really wish I kept mine. I got rid of pretty much all my vintage stuffed animals. *smacks 80's self*
-
Meh, i donĀ“t like it too much...like the originals from the 80s...no one.
Sigh...i miss the old Party...
-
oh how cute!
-
I'm not so much a fan of this new version. I loved Popples in the 80'a. I remember having roller skates and watching the DVDs. I actually found the same one I had as a kid yesterday at Value Village for 50 cents.
-
I have to see the actual toys. Toys look different from the art a lot of times.
-
Interesting! We'll have to wait and see how they look when they come out, I remember having one as a kid and loving it ^.^
-
I have mine too...

only Puffball is missing...she "lives" at my grandmothers house. ^.^
I'm super exited about the new Toyline... :bigups: hope they give them lot of diversity like Moose with the Zelfs.
(Lately we have seen a lot of reintroduces old toy lines...I hope for Cherry Merry Muffin... )
-
I know I had one as a kid, but for the life of me I can't remember which one. I think maybe the white one? I must not have loved them that much if I can't remember it.
-
I gotta throw my two cents in again. I hope that if they re-do the cartoons that there's a similar theme to the original, helping and friends. Popples did chores; it may have been a disaster but they tried!
Ask me how much I love poppies... I sleep on this every night:

I only had a teeny tiny party popple, a sleeping bag and 2 VHS tapes growing up. My parents dabbled between toy lines for me...

Well, that's how I discovered the 1986 Popples live action special this evening. And I just have to share it with all of you:

They came in many colors and sizes! LOL. There's some really cute sports themed ones as well...
-
The new Popples look like rodents. I miss the G1 Popples especially my childhood one D: I'm kinda reserving judgment on the new ones though since my initial reaction to the FiM style was also D: but I quickly grew to love that so...

Here's my collection:

I think they look adorable. :D

I've never heard of them but they look cute anyway

I loved my Popple. I had the white one. I think her name is Puffball? I'm not sure. I still have my Popple. :) I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about the new ones.
