Title: Yay Grail!
Post by: MiRaja on July 23, 2014, 08:57:06 PM
I won one of my Nirvana grails.  :)  Brazil Wind Whistler.  I just love the shy pegasus pose, so getting them in Nirvana are all my grails.

She is SO rough looking though, but it's not like I'm paying much at all for her, so I can clean her up.  I am likely going to rehair her mane.  Her tail looks salvageable, and I'm not likely to resell her, and should I, it's not like she is worth a lot in current condition anyways, so I'm not worried about that.  We'll see when I get her in, I think she'll clean up pretty nicely otherwise for her mane.

Also, does anyone have an experience sunfading Brazilians?

She's still very, very beautiful! Congratulations, she's one I've had my eye on for awhile, but she isn't in my price range. I bet she'll be a stunner cleaned up and rehaired!

Brazilians will sunfade, you just have to be especially careful of their hair.  I know you'd keep it covered anyway but you have to be sure it's sealed up well because their hair will turn to absolute POWDER if exposed to UV for any length of time, especially if it's already brittle or frizzy.

She is lovely! Congrats! I bet she will clean up nicely and looking stunning once you're finished!

A little advice. Since you are planning on rehairing her anyway, I would suggest removing her mane & tail and sunfading her body while she has no hair. Since you want to keep her original tail, keep the tail in a safe place out of the sun. Then once you are finished sunfading her body, you can put her original tail back in and rehair her mane as you had planned. This way you won't have to worry about fading or damaging her hair during the sunfading process.

Edit to add: You will also probably want to cover her symbols and eyes while she is sunfading, just to be safe.

That is very good advice :) also Brazil hair is delicate and the sunlight will damage it.

I got her a couple weeks back, she came in SO quickly!

She is indeed very buzzy.  I haven't gotten very far with her, I've been so busy, that I pulled her tail and that's all the further I got.  She hasn't yet been de-maned and chucked in some peroxide solution to fade.  Nor have I gotten my hands on some vintage fading pink!
