Hi all!
I'm so excited as last night my boyfriend confirmed with me that we'd be heading to the UK Ponycon as a birthday treat for me. I just about died when he told me! :frolic:
This will be my first Ponycon and I can't wait, will anyone else be there? Would be wonderful to meet fellow collectors from the Arena ^.^

Oh I'm far too excited, I've a fear of literally passing out on arrival haha.
I'm going to have to majorly pre-plan who I want to buy, otherwise I'll end up having to empty my clothes from my suitcase to get home! :whoa:

Woohoo, adventures to Ponycon! I'd love to come to the US one year for the fair it seems fantastic!
My boyfriend and I will be getting the dreaded Megabus down from Glasgow, 8 hours. :yikes: Not looking forward to that part, but I've done it before for about 9-10 hours to London for Comic-con so a couple hours less for Ponycon is even more worthwhile! Not sure my boyfriend agrees with that mind you .. haha
Anyone have one specific pony they'll be on the hunt for at the con?

I'll be there. Staying 4 nights! (Extra day before and after when my mister is joining me) and seeing Jon Richardson on the Sunday evening (he's so funny!).
Having a stall full of nonsense, can't wait to meet people. Please let me know if you're going to be available for a few drinks Friday or Saturday because I got a bit lonely last year and was very shy and alone! I'm 31, mother (child will not be with me).

If you're booking at the Mercure I highly recommend you book through their website. I don't know if you've seen the offer they have for Ponycon attendees, but it was like £89 per night for a double room with breakfast, but we had a look online and booked it without breakfast and saved us £40, it was working at £10 a day for breakfast. I was not up for paying that when there is so many places accessible around the hotel for food for much cheaper. Not sure of course if that suits what your looking for, but I thought 40 quid for two days breakfast was a bit much!

I've just moved to Manchester. So its not really far, its just that the following week is a busy and stressful one, got to go back to Telford on the Monday ready for court on the Tuesday (my old next door neighbour broke someone's leg and we're the only witnesses) =-O and then on the Saturday its my father-in-law's wedding in Leeds, my husband's family are all quite hard work so he's not looking forward to it, which means I'm not either! Sooo with all that, ponycon would be the best thing to lead up to it, but its just whether I can justify the extra travelling and costs, and of course pony money! :-P
But if I can convince hubby we can just go for the Sunday I will! :-D

I just found out that I can go! We were supposed to have plans that weekend, but it turns out that those plans were never actually made, so now I have the weekend free. I should be annoyed really, but I'm actually really happy that now I get to go to Ponycon :lol: I'll be looking for my dream pony, blue Italian Lickety Split!

it is only a couple of prices that are "hugely" different over here.
As a general guideline:
UK/Euro releases tend to be cheaper than in the US - Petites/Dream Beauties more.
US releases obviously more too.
German Babies are definetly popular ad if you have any I might push Lisey in front of your stall ;-)

I have to repair parts of my cosplay that go broken on the trip back from Londom MCM in may, but other than that I'm almost all organised. Booking flights tomorrow night, no more 9 hour megabus for me, wooohoo! :frolic:

It's also been hard to get time off over the summer as lots of other people had it booked off, and I'm still getting into the swing of being back at work.
So I have a few days booked off work before the con (I only work part time anyway), and plan on doing it all then - eek!

Dude, I feel you completely. I am barely getting enough sleep, and the huge list of around 100 items I wanted to have ready has been whittled down to about 10. (yeah, honestly, my stall is going to look like a badly-stocked car boot sale). I also haven't yet bought most of the stuff to decorate my stall, and not sewn the stuff I was supposed to sew, and not painted... yadda yadda yadda.
I'm LOSING IT and I have no time off work left to take (full-time). I'm going to have to admit that actually, I was aiming far too high with this one! :blush: :shocked: :huh: :( >_< -_-

saturday is usually the busiest - I'll check with events if we can reveal timetables and stuff...

If you want to shop, Saturday would probably be best as there are more stalls ;)

I'm part of the events team ^^ not been given clearance to publish the entire timetable, but can give you some idea of what's what!
As LadyG said, Saturday will be your better shopping day. We also have the creative contests and charity auction on Saturday, so if you're going to be bringing custom ponies, or dressing in cosplay, they'll be judged on Saturday.
We're having Sunday Funday this year, so that day has more games and events running.

We moved house on Wednesday, so we are surrounded by boxes and have spent nearly all weekend trying to get some semblance of order in the house! :whew: I think we really need a good fun chillout weekend next week - CAN'T WAIT !!! :frolic:

My hair is just brown at the moment. The Celestia hair is a wig, although I wish it was mine! It makes me miss having colourful locks. Haha
I'll have it on with my Celestia cosplay on the Saturday during the day so it'll be easy enough to spot me then!

I always have a stock pile of coloured dyes at home, I think I need to get rid of them as they're just too much of a temptation when I'm trying to keep my hair healthy! :P
Side note, I actually have a spare one of the wig for sale if you're interested at all. It's an older one and as I got a replacement I'm selling this one on.

You can buy your con pony still at the Ponycon Merch stall on the day - there are some left. xx
If you come both days, just make sure you get there nice and early xx
@Corona - your art will be in the conbook and I think our arts coordinator Tinrobo was going to hold one each back for the artists and send it to them in the post as a thank you. If you'd like to you can email her your address already.

There's a Build-A-Bear in the Highcross shopping centre, but Trixie is only online, so they don't have her in.
Y'know, it's only just occurred to me that now Ponycon is coming to Leicester, it's even more sad that Dominoes Toy Shop closed down last year :( That thing was huge and it was such a shame to see it go.
I am surprisingly close to being done on my Con prep! Taking much less than previous times, but that's probably a good thing as I never have enough space.

Was up till 6AM working on ponies. Boyf got me up with bacon bagel and a brew at 11:00 like a GOD and been working again since. He's actually been helping me SO MUCH (considering he's off work sick, he should be resting!) Will prolly be working to 3AM, then anything that's not done, I just have to accept I failed at.

We are driving down Saturday morning. I stayed up till midnight last night rehairing and got 8 out of 9 done hurrah! Just a couple of accessories to make and all the geads to stick back on! Thank goodness my pricing and cleaning was all done last weeknd :)
Cant wait to see everyone! Please stop by our stall for: g4 nurse redheart, g1s, accessories, euro g2s, plastic risers and gorgeous handmade fabric items eith pretty g1 and g4 fabrics :D

If anyone can't find me this weekend I'll be ultimate grey pegasus pony with bubbles as her symbol on Saturday (rock version), Scootaloo on Sunday and will be in best pony (aforementioned grey pegasus) t-shirts when not in cosplay :) I'll also likely be proclaiming how awesome said pony is....just to make me easier to spot lol XD

I had an absolutely PonyTAstic day! Loved the panels, the cosplay, the nostalgia for G1... I spent the whole day going around yelling "I used to have that one!" and of course the amazing atmosphere. Next year I'm definitely hoping to do both days.
