Yup, baked a RC baby with sculpted hair... put her in for a few mins longer because her clay was still feeling pliable... Now burnt baby hair and discolored head. Sad face. Here's to hoping her hair doesn't crumble apart. (She took forever to get it just right.) And here's another :( to having to do a fbr that I was hoping to not have to do.
I need to go to bed.
-
:( Get some sleep. It will be easier to deal with once you have rest.
-
I guess you weren't kidding when you said you were "killing a Rice Krispy baby"... :P Real crispy!
-
sad, sad times :(
*Sad gentle non-crumbly hugs*

Maybe I should just paint her all black and give her glowing eyes. Geeez. I liked that pink sculpy color.
P.S.
Oh gosh, don't ask what I did to Applejack this evening....
::hangs her head in shame at half melted face:: I think I need to stay away from the oven for awhile... good grief! (Third time was a charm in the last 4 days w/oven projects. My first project turned out perfect though...)
-
Oh no!!! I dread this happening to me...
-
I dunno...... The black tips look kinda neat......
-
Re-think your project and do something different with it! Punk the pony or something along those lines? I love the black tips, myself!
-
Do a Medusa RC Baby. . .?
-
Put your hands up and step away from the oven!
Luckily, it's normally only me I burn when baking ponies.
-
Well, I think your pony looks just fine ;)

Oh boy. That's why I don't customize G4's. Poor puddle pony. :o(
-
I think they can usually be baked, it's just that I have an old oven and numbers on the knob are erased so I accidentally put her on 220°C

Ok...... That is freaking awesome!!!! *imagines all the awesome Halloween ponies this could make*

She was supposed to be a nice bubblegum hair-color sculpted alt pose baby princess sparkle. I just can't do it now... Oh, muse where are you? You see my dilemma. See one thing in your head, but when it doesn't work out... Road block. I've never been one to stray much from hasrro inspired customs.

I once baked sculpted mane with hair straightener. I've put the pony in between the plates (or whatever they are called) and heated it to the max. Mane and tail baked, and the pony was intact. You could try that :)

That melted pony is the stuff of nightmares! :yikes:

i... kinda want to melt a pony now...

My little pony puddle.

ohh nnoooooo June, that bites.
mlp4me, I agree, rethink your project if she's not crumbling apart! the black tips do look cool, but maybe repaint her all together?
-
Putting a pony to the oven seems even more scary right now.
Do you guys usually pull it of nice? And how do you do it?
-

I was sad when I was this but then when I saw June had scraped the poor thing up, turned it over and posted a second photo I couldn't help giggling a tiny bit. Poor little girl though.

These are some rather extreme examples. I've baked other ponies without these issues. We just learn from our mistakes. Clay has baking instructions. Also the last couple of times I've baked the oven was already pre-heated. I think that's my biggest fault right there.
From what I've gathered soft-bodied ponies do not need to go in as long as hard bodied ones (in my case with AJ).

My little pony puddle.
Oh my.....
mlp4me, I do like the burnt tips on the hair. I do hope that you'll find inspiration to use her again for something else :)
-
I like the hair. I know it's not what you were hoping for, but it might turn out ok. Work on something else, keeping that pony in sight for while. You never know what idea will strike you!
-
Wow! That is one cool pony puddle June!
MLP your baby is still so sweet looking, I'm sure you will come up with a brilliant idea for her!
-
I'm sorry *hugs* I'd start ripping my hair out if that happened to me.
But imo, the black tips do look kinda cool. She reminds me of a medusahorse.
And the puddle one makes me think of roadkill oops
-
I usually cook non-g3's at 215*F (the package for the clay says 275). I also cook them for 20 minutes instead of the 15 the clay recommends. I've never had any problems with it.
That puddle pony made me think of that Senator guy in X-Men who melted into a puddle.
-
BAhahahahaha!! I love Puddle Pony!!
I think you should totally keep RK pony as is and paiint some brown or grey gradiant on her muzzle, ears, and feet! I think she's look adorable :)
-
I laughed way too hard at puddle pony!
