I do like the coins a lot, more so that the figure itself. By the time I would have money to get her (Friday), I bet all the coins will be gone.
But I wouldnt be surprised if the release the coins at a later date, especially if they added a Cadance and Twilight coin for a four-coin set.

At least with this figure, they are not claiming that it is a limited edition. They are claiming the coins are limited edition, which seems odd since even if they didn't re-release a "second limited" set of them, (which I am POSITIVE they will do if they prove popular) you could always order your own set from the DA artist who designed and sells them: http://akili-amethyst.deviantart.com/

The pony designs on the coins are beautiful- I wish the'd based the figure off the Nightmare Moon on the coin, instead of this semi-humanized version. But clearly someone at WLF really likes the anthro thing.

You lucky Americans.) I'm u-su-ally not too much of a fan of their vinyl figures (really didn't like Trixie or Twilight, Vinyl didn't seem worth the price and hassle... :muffin: was pretty cute, though, I might need one of those now!) but I really like the character of Nightmare Moon, so a figure wasn't too much of a hard decision.

And as for the coin- I love Akili-Amethyst's designs. They're what I based my giant stained-glass gingerbread Celestia and Luna off. So I'm super happy to finally own one of her coins!

I think the style appeals to me because she looks like she belongs in the original Spyro trilogy.

I agree. Pass for me too. Funnily enough, when I first saw her, I thought she was ball jointed which I would totally be down for.

When did I say I didn't like it? In fact I said I liked it in my original post, and I bought one, I was simply posting the pros and cons in my opinion on the figure.

I understand it's based off of artwork, in my opinion I like accuracy best so there are some cons in that department due to the fact.

They tend to re-release their "limited edition" items and make many variations of them. Also, if I'm not mistaken, they don't have their own designs, but use fan art and don't pay the artists that much. I believe there has been something with Hot Topic and them?
And they ship international orders late.

If it was actually like that I'd want it. But this figurine's a mess.
1. It doesn't respect the style. A huge minus!
2. The pose isn't dynamic at all. Rather stiff and plain. It's missing the movement.
3. The mane is too solid looking. And flat.
4. I'm not even sure if it comes with a cutie mark. The picture featuring it is clearly photoshopped.
5. The overall look of it is really sloppy. Like the sculptor didn't really think about what he was doing. Just look at the horn and muzzle.
6. I don't think the artist had anything to do with this figurine.

The coins are pretty though.

They are liars and are unapologetic about it. I don't find the "search" feature on this site particularly good- but there IS a thread somewhere that documents and details the specific lies they have told. And they are lies too. One example is they released a "limited edition of 600!" figure- "sold only at Comic con!" then "Second limited edition of 600, we the LAST you will ever see of her, to first 600 people who buy a load of t-shirts and ALSO pay for the figure!"
Once that sold out they released at least one more "limited edition" plus a couple of variants.

THAT is why I have a problem with them. I don't care if they have multiple "editions" of something, but don't lie for the purpose of artificially creating scarcity and thus higher sales because you've reconsidered and want to make a few more bucks. That is so not cool.

I also don't love that they pay artists some measly amount (what is it now, $50?) for their gorgeous designs that they make MILLIONS from. But ultimately I have less of an issue with that because although they are taking advantage of young artists, ultimately it is up to the artist whether they want to essentially give their design away, and also I can actually see the appeal of having one's design made into thousands of shirts for people all over the world to wear, when the design would otherwise not be seen by more than a handful of people. It would be nice if the shirts also provided a credit to the artist somewhere (so the artist could get some exposure) but I guess if someone were really diligent, they could probably search that artist up if they wanted.

Bubble Muffin was a well-made figurine; I just wish that WLF hadn't lied up and down about its availability. I expect that this one will have the same quality. Overall, part of me wants it, but the other part of me is still mad at WeLoveFine.

Suuupie poopy mailman didnt even knock on the door, just took my doormat and covered up the box in the corner of my patio! O-O Well now she is here in the warm, a zillion photos taken of her and I hope she is much happier than being outside!

She really is really beautiful overall! I love the box and the beautiful Akili coin! =) The coin is actually larger and heavier than I expected. My NMM's horn was also a little bent from the plastic packaging... I wanna know how to fix it but oh well if I cant. Haha she looks like a narwal! Theres about 671 NMM vinyls left so if you are on the fence about getting one- I would just save up and get her before its too late! WELL... wait a min... it would be like them to release a 2nd edition of 2400 xD Anyways here is my figure! No LE card included.

I don't love WeLoveFine as a business, but caved and got the figure with the coin, it is pretty cool, and the figure is a little weird, but also kinda cool. Plus, my Nightmare Moon army...

At least (maybe due to all the complaining- I know I did my fair share to them directly) they are no longer selling her as a super LIMITED item- the description is now "1st EDITION of 2400 UNITS" So maybe they've learned their lesson? Who knows.

Otherwise undamaged though! Her extreme stylization (read: slenderness) doesn't bother me like I feared it would, if I have any complaints they're small, such as wishing her huge Narwhal horn was a bit smaller, her eyes were more blue than green, and her mane had a little translucency, but overall she's pretty cute. The coin is gorgeous, I need to figure out some kind of display stand for it!
