Hey everyone!~ :heart:

The moment youve all been waiting for is here!!!  :biggrin: Without further ado, meet My Little Takara Babies!

Seriously thank you soooo much to everyone who supported me on this LONG journey. For those attending the fair, I will have a space set up in Sweetpea's customs booth to purchase these little lovelies, next to the wonderful Sunshine and down the aisle from Ashlyne! Commissions to open after the fair!  :heart: :heart: :heart:


A lonnnnng time ago I set out to make a replica of these adorable Takara Baby Pony Plushes, believed never to have reached actual production, we only have the below image of these little cuties to reference.

I set out to make replicas of these little cuties so at last collectors may have them, but real life unfortunately got in the way. After what has probably been unfortunately the worst year of my life, things have finally stabilized and I am able to work on this project again! I hope to have several available at the upcoming 2014 My Little Pony Fair, as well as be open for some limited commissions spots afterward  ^.^ I may also have patterns/materials kits available, depending on interest.

I'm posting my progress here as I go, PLEASE feel free to give input on the design and materials etc, or any suggestions! I want these to be as close to the originals as possible, keeping in mind the option of custom babies later on.

Prototype 1~

Lots of changes needed unfortunately. Smaller head, head shape changed, arms and feet made bigger, belly made smaller and general tweaks to pattern. Good news is we have a really great starting point, she actually looks like a Takara baby!  :biggrin:

Prototype 2~

Pattern adjusted and re-printed, pieces traced, cut out, and ready to sew! Hooray quantifiable progress!

Purchased some minky for the final products, it's sooo soft and a lovely butter yellow color!  ^.^ The best part is I can buy it in person without waiting for it to ship online

Ive been steadily making progress, and im happy with how things are coming out so far! I think im getting much closer to being true to the original, hope to finalize the design this weekend and get working on the actual things!

Thank you so much everyone for being patient, I know this took a ridiculously long time and I'm sorry real life stuff got in the way. I'm happy to be on my way to completing this project after so long! :heart:

It already has a distinct Takara look, I'm sure with the little tweaks you're planning / have made for the 2nd prototype it will look even better! The minky looks wonderfully soft and the colour is lovely, pastel yellow is one of my top favourite pony colours.

Oh yes! What a great improvement - its like she has just been tweaked to perfect :) Her nose is brilliant now! These are going to be so adorable when all done! Are you doing lots of different colour versions?

Still organizing a commissions list which has been hard the last two weeks since apparently things fall apart at work without me!! Been working crazy hours ever since I got back from the fair.

Rhini, you should add the word pattern to your listing title. More chances for people looking for patterns finding it and less chances of people getting confused not reading trough all of the description. :)

Oh, one thing: woukld you mind if I change the pattern a bit for my own use? I am by no means giving the modified pattern to anyone, I just wanna see how it would look with couple of tiny alterations. :)
