What's coming after all the Rainbow Power stuff?
All the animal print is starting to make sense... sort of.

First these:

Bit boring. I wish they'd release something new, not redesigns of the same characters over and over again. Sure they can do these toylines, but add more ponies into them!

Getting a Zecora vibe! xD Eh, sort of wish they would just make new characters instead. I do like the designs but its weird for me to see tiger and cheetah spots on ponies. I think it could work though.

I have the Twilight Sparkle Journal and really like the Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo figures. Hope those all come out since we only have normal versions of them. This could be the next Target exclusive line but only time will tell.

Looks like Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo finally got those cutie marks they always wanted...  And the other Scootaloo looks like she's suffering from the cutie pox.

Well...from a sales point of view, it's likely a very safe choice - kids generally like bright and colourful, and a rainbow isn't gendered into "male" or "female", and the "wild" thing also incorporates wild animals...which generally kids also like. I'd rather see rainbows forever than more "ALL LITTLE GIRLS LIKE PINK. NO EXCEPTIONS. NONE."

I personally think the animal print is a little gaudy but....I'll reserve further judgement until we see more from this line. I will, however, let out a pre-emptive sigh if it does turn out to be another exclusive line.

Oooh! Interesting theory. I wonder if it will be the whole line or as others have mentioned something like a Target/Walmart exclusive line - seems early for us already to be seeing what would take over from Rainbow Power...but I guess you never know.

So, I'm sorta okay, maybe they go on a PONY SAFARI!!!  and visit a new land with all sorts of Non Pony characters, Zebra's, Lions, Tigers, Gazelles.   Possibilities for toys?

How about gradient rainbows, like the Sunbrights? Now that would be slightly different enough to be interesting.

To me this just looks like Hasbro is finally running out of ideas what to do with their character repeats. "Better than pink" is a very low standard, IMO.
I have never bought G4 character repeats and I don't plan on doing it. All I want is more variety in the toy aisle for little girls.

I've only been into ponies since G4 and I think Hasbro ran out of ideas long, long ago. If we want to see variation in toys for little girls, Hasbro is not the company that's gonna do it. Certainly not in their MLP line, anyway, unless their merchandising team fires whoever keeps deciding we need more re-releases of the mane six with a new hair clip.

I'd like to say "better than unbrushable-tinsel", too, but I won't jinx it...

I honestly liked the Rainbow Power stuff, but this is just a little too much.  I never thought there'd be any Sweetie Belle toy I wouldn't buy (well, G4 Sweetie), but here we are.

Nice call on the Wild Rainbow theory, Flitter :) I think you could be spot on with the idea of it being Targets line this year as well - its unlikely the main line is going to change from Rainbow Power so quickly.

There was a kids bike spotted not that long ago with the Wild Rainbow theme...was it a Target only item as well?

Well, darn, rainbow animal print is one of my most favorite motifs ever, but I don't like how they did it here. :/ Only on the back legs? Maybe even just the one display side leg, which would be even worse.

We'll I guess that throws the target exclusive theory out though it does technically says Rainbow Power on the bike, not Wild Rainbow... The design is the same though so I'm doubting that it's an exclusive line now. We'll just have to continue to wait and see!

I mean how Mattel usually showcases what dolls are on the way in a huge glass case. I know they have the exclusive but they do little else besides that. Unless they do that during the fair instead.

Maybe Wild Rainbow is a hint towards the Season opener.

Oh right I am with you. They did for the last couple of years - it was far from the full range for the year but they did feature a lot of what was coming on the stand. However there was never anything which we had not already seen at the Toy Fair. Although you never know...

Yeah, i need those dolls lol XD I'm quite surprised to see EqG dolls on taobao though. It's normally the ponies on there and the dolls only after they've come out. Love the outfits though :D

Awww....they are kind of cute and I much prefer their faces. With the matching dresses I think the idea of this being a CMC line is completely right now. The size of these dolls actually makes their proportions look better but I am not sure if thats just the picture deceiving me.

Aw, my sister gave me that Rainbow Dash notebook/diary for my birthday last week! I had no clue it was a new line...

If the theme is hinting at next season, I hope we get to see more of Zecora's world, maybe some of her family members! She would make a good CmC chaperone.

I agree that those are the cutest Equestria Girls dolls that I've seen... but not cute enough to make me like EqG, sadly... or happily. I need my money to stay safely where it's hidden! In my Keyper.

Awesome! Animal print is coming back in vogue--at least in the pony universe. But that may translate to real life as well! I love animal print shirts and stuff. I hope this is an indicator that maybe we'll get a season where the ponies begin exploring outside of ponyville--perhaps an episode exploring where Zecora came from? And perhaps seaponies will finally be shown in the show? I guess only time can tell, but that would be really fabulous! I think you're onto something, Flitter!

:snicker: Yes, me too. I am very strictly not buying re-released characters now. My only real excitement for new themes popping up is that maybe a new character might result from it. I'm actually not much a fan of the neon animal print but it is nice to see something CMC focused as oppose to mane 6 + princesses for once. I have a groundless hope for a colorful Zebra for this line.

The names sound kind of mushy in Mandarin. And incidentally, if you have watched enough Chinese dramas, the prostitutes are all conveniently named Lulu for some reason, so I actually feel kind of sorry for Scooterloo....considering how she looks and dressed. Reminds me of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman where she started out as  a hooker. Her friend had that leopard print top.  lol

Yeah I think she does!  You can see a faint animal print in the highlights of the Equestria Girl CMC wild rainbow dolls too.  That's a nice touch!

UK peeps! Argos have listed some of these on their website :) The singles are £6.99 (the dolls are pictured but the description says "Pony figure" so I think it's for the ponies), and the three dolls are £35. They appear to be instock right now, but that might vary depending on your nearest store.

My target was wiped out of pony stuff, and the only pinkie pie's boutique thing they had was the eqg doll on sale for $6, they only had two left, and i bought one, can't wait for this line to be released!

No problem! Most of the transition toys for my Target have the toy reset being this coming Sunday. There will probably be the G4zilla Princess Twilight Sparkle, POP figures, and the Breezie sets out too.

Comparison to Rainbow Rocks Trixie - they're tiny! Granted, Trixie's on a MH stand (and has high heels - Apple Bloom's shoes have tiny heels, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo's shoes are both flats, which I'm really impressed about - great job, Hasbro!! :D), but still. I'm really glad they made them shorter, I just didn't expect them to be quite *this* short!

Apple Bloom. Their coloured streaks are really soft! If anyone was wondering, the streaks are *not* glued, at least not on my dolls.

Also I didn't get a picture of this, but all three of them do have wing holes on their backs. They don't come with wings though, despite Scootaloo being pictured with wings in some promo photos. (Makes sense - I don't think her wings would fit with her shirt)

They're terribly cute, I'm glad I got them! I hope they make some more younger chars into dolls later :)
