So as some of you might already know, last month I moved into a new place complete with an extra bedroom in the back for - you guessed it - TOYS! G1 ponies especially, but it'll also be housing my action figures, LPS, and Monster High.
I'm in the process of building custom bookcases, or shall we call them toy-cases. They're basic whiteboard, 10" deep, and held up in the corners by 3/4" threaded steel rods and a small army of nuts and washers, the shelves completely adjustable. Bookcase #1 (3'x6') is already complete, with #2 (5'x6') and #3 (5'x5') on the way. In total, I'll have 21 shelves and - if my calculations are correct - over 900 sq. ft. of display space. Granted, it will be a bit less as the bottom shelf for each toy-case will probably be for accessory storage. But I can probably gain even more space by using some sort of stands for the back part of each shelf to raise up the smaller ponies. Any suggestions on that?
End result - I am SUPER excited to have a toy room after six long years of wanting one. I made an unfortunate color choice for the room (punch, which washed out the toys completely and was way too dark) but I'm rectifying it with lemon-ice this weekend, courtesy of Martha. The color looks cool and relaxing, and the perfect sort of pale yellow-green for my ponies and monsters to be at home in.
Now I have THE ITCH to buy more ponies! I figure I should start by buying a beautiful Nirvana to celebrate this moment (as if I'm not already spending enough on new furniture, paint, building materials, artwork, accessories, framing, etc!) But hey, spending is in a collector's blood, right? Though, for real, my end of year bonus cannot come soon enough!
OK, I'm babbling. Who else has THE ITCH?

no, i also feel the itch. i recently found some affordable italian color variant CP ponies and i am really tempted. i never wanted the orange and yellow ones like minty, butterscotch or blue belle as orange/yellow are not my fav colors.. but they are really affordable! noooooo! poor wallet :D

I massively have the ITCH! I cannot stay away from the sales threads on the arena there are just so many lovely ponies. I never went for nirvanas until I signed up to the arena, but that's all changed now! Waiting pony mail on 2 Nirvanas this week! My bank balance is really hurting!

If by itch we mean the continual and seemingly hopeless search for German Moonstone, then yup got that...had it for about 4 years now :P Its getting tiresome.

I don't have the pony itch right now! It's a bit odd! Of course there are things I would like to add, but I'm not disparate. I'm feeling quite satisfied with my collection at the moment ^.^

I have the itch bad! But I have to refrain because I've bought so many ponies recently! Congrats on getting a toy room! I want one of those one day :biggrin:

I get the itch too! Can hit when you least expect it, and usually when I get it, I can't find any for sale that I actually want to add to my collection!

Funnily enough, I don't, but if Pokémon counts, then I definitely do! :P My phases change regularly, ponies, pokemon, I was into MH for a year too, but sold all of them when I lost interest. But yeah, I understand the itch!

I have it and I've bought so many ponies lately that I still have them hidden in a box :sad:... I excuse myself because I didn't have many when I started collecting a few months ago and I want them all!!!! :frolic:

I have the itch soo bad. I can't get anymore until I pay off my huge accessory/pony lot that I'm making payments on.....
Why is it that there are tons of great deals when you can't buy, but when you do have money they are all gone?

On a good note, my shelves are just about finished so I can start loading the ponies up in a day or two. I can't wait to see them all, and of course all my lovely Nirvanas too.

Been itching like crazy lately... But I think it may just be allergies.
On the other hand my palms are burning as I wait for a sale to finalize. When that happens I don't know what I'll go for, but if it's baity and non-us I'm up for it!
