I had probably about 15-25 ponies growing up, but I notice that whenever I see a certain couple of ponies, or even art of these ponies it brings me right back to childhood and my fondest memories of play. For me it is Starshine, Windy, and Princess Sparkle that take me immediately back.
Starshine and Windy were the first ponies I had (not counting Butterscotch whom was so well loved she was thrown out by mom when I got these two new girls). Every time I see them I think they are the best ponies ever because they take me right back to happy memories. Princess Sparkle was a later pony for me, but she also brings back really great memories that this time include my sister. We both got Princess Sparkles!
Which ponies bring you right back to your favorite memories even if they might not be your favorite ponies?
-
For me it was Gypsy. She was my favourite.
Strawberry fair also takes me back. She was another I had as a child that I distinctly remember
-
Parasol, Dancing Butterflies, and Masquerade were the ones I played with most. :)
-
Barnacle and Boysenberry Pie were my two favorites growing up and still rule over my herd together ^^ They always bring back fond childhood memories :)
-
For me they are Nightlight and Tulip <3 They were my first ponies so they're so special for me :lovey:
-
Sugar Apple, Sugar Sweet and Baby Cuddles <3 Childhood favourites!
-
Tink-a-Tink-a-Too was my first pony when I was little. She was always involved in my "story line" whenever I was playing ponies because she was my favorite. Actually, she still is my favorite! I have my original Tink-a on my bedside table, and looking at her always fills me with happy memories of the fun I had with my ponies. ^.^

I would say baby surprise and the other babies of that set and I played with them and their moms alot. I loved them very much with their accessories. I shall track them down someday. I am more concerned with finding other dream castle accessories. I keep telling myself maybe I will get them down the road.

Ringlet and Swirly Whirly, hands down.

Oh good question. Its going to be Bow Tie, Apple Jack and Masquerade. The latter was the only pony I got to choose in store by myself - I remember standing in Woolworths, holding my mums hand and looking at the great wall of pony. I was getting a special present so that I would try and not be upset because we were moving house and I was leaving all my friends. To this day standing there with mum and picking out Masquerade is one of my strongest childhood memories. The others are because I was given their shy pose versions as presents in order to bribe me into accepting my little brother :P I have a picture of me standing over his bassinet in the hospital - in theory to pose with my brother but instead I am holding Applejack, her puffy sticker on my dress and a big smile on my face...it was not the new brother making me feel that way.

Firefly and Gusty. Firefly because I also had the story on tape, which was listened to a lot.
Which influenced the stories I made up for my Firefly. Gusty because unicorns are my second favorite MLP after the Pegasus. And she was one of my favorite G1 unicorns.
Which admittedly I nicknamed her Canada.

Trickles and Confetti!
-
Tickle!! ;) ;) and when I see my Tickle I also have a smile ;) ;) and have nice memories !!
-
I have to say, I have two memories.
My very first pony was the G3 Cotton Candy I got when I was about 6..I love her.
But, the first pony that I remember bringing the most memories was when I found my first G1, Snuzzle.
...and although this might sound really weird, the thing that brings back memories the most is the smell of a G1. You know, the kind of musty plastic smell a lot of them have? That brings back the first memories I had of collecting.
-
Buttons, Bright Night, and Princess Primrose. They were always the heroes.
-
Big Brothers Quarterback and Chief. When I played ponies with my cousin, she always wanted to play the girlfriend pony and I played boyfriend pony. :P
SHS Rosey Love and G1 Bubblefish bring back memories too. I played with them with my cousin a lot too.

I don't remember who she was. My mom didn't buy me pony toys, I only had the one we got from McDonalds and I thought it was cool because it had the whole Hasbro stamp in it's hoof and I thought I could maybe use it as an actual stamp(though I don't think that worked out).
I recall wanting to try and customize it at some point in my life, but was a stupid kid and thought if I covered it in water colors it'd stick or something?
Can't figure out who it was, but she was green and probably from McDonalds, so I'm guessing Minty?? I should try to find her.
-
Bluebell for me, she was my very first pony and I took her everywhere :)
-
All four of the glitter baby ponies :) I have a few others but they do the most. :)
-
Dancing Butterflies. She was my mom's favorite. Baby Bouncy (boy), Litter Flitter, and Palm (Cool Breeze) and my sister's flyers were our heros during playtime. They could fly and loved adventure!
-
I only had four ponies growing up so they are all pretty nostalgic for me. Cherries Jubilee was the first one I got; my mom got two of them, one for me and one for my sister. Then I got Glory and I thought she was about the most beautiful toy ever! Some time later I got Sunshower, although I suppose I played with her a bit less because the ponywear outfits didn't fit her. And then I got Nightglider on my 12th birthday, and she was one of the last toys I got as a child. I was in love with space so she was quite special to me, and I thought her bangs looked a bit like Paula Abdul who was my favorite singer at the time! :P
I still have them all with me now, although Nightglider has sadly got a tiny cancer/mould spot on one leg, Cherries Jubilee has some regrind and Glory got stained from the clothes I had stored her in so I've been trying to sunbleach her. A few years back I brought them all back from my parents' house and started trying to clean them up. I think some heads might need to be reglued as well! I'll get around to it someday...!

SS Wind Whistler. :)
-
It would probably be one of the following ponies:
BBE Baby Cuddles (I played with her A LOT)
Parasol (she dated Michelangelo of the TMNTs - that was my solution to the stallion shortage)
Baby Lickety Split (I was obsessed with her from the MLP movie, but could never find her)
:)
-
For me that is the ponies in the party gift pack that I still have, and a set of twin ponies.
-
None of my G3's particularly bring back any extremely fond memories, mainly because I kind of would just pick them up on Toys R Us trips with my mom and get them for Christmas. I'd guess the pony that brings back the most happy memories for me is my :muffin: Pony fashion style, the SDCC one. I had sat on HasbroToyShop browsing for hours and days hoping she'd pop up and that I'd be able to get her, because I love her *so* much and I figured that would be her only official toy. I never got one and for months I was so sad, looking at her on eBay and watching her price rise and rise. I was out of work at the time, so I couldn't afford to get her for how much she was selling for.
Finally, I found somebody on DeviantArt selling theirs for a reasonable price and I was SO happy I was able to finally buy one. When she arrived I put her in all sorts of different scenes, took tons of pictures of her and was just the happiest ever. She's still my absolute FAVORITE, right now she's on my shelf with the rest of my fashion style ponies, but for the longest time she sat on my shelf next to the bed.
The only thing that made me stop taking her around with me and keeping her nearby was the release of the funrise plush because now I can actually cuddle my own :muffin: Pony.
-
I remember getting Great Hair Ringlets for my birthday :3 I did play a lot with Princess Sparkle, her lightning crown was very magical to me, I also borrowed my sisters Wind Whistler pretending she was a boy and everytime I was bathing the sea side babies splish & splosh were a popular choice XD
-
Definitely Baby Honeycomb and BB Salty, Rock and of course Posey, those four are my all time favourites from my childhood.
Send via Tapatalk on my Galaxy - blame autocorrect for every mistake ;)

G3 Kimono. :) Out of my entire collection, Sunny Daze Pose Kimono is the only "legit" pony I had as a child. The rest were all fakies that I gave away to a family friend. I got lucky when it turned out Kimono was the only pony their little girl kept, and when she didn't want her any more, they gave her back to me since I had started collecting ponies! She's been the best ever since.
-
My first, Flat foot Butterscotch. Had her since I was almost 5 (I'm 37 now). She's survived countless moves (military brat) and two house fires. She, Posey, Confetti and Sundance are all that I kept when I sold my ponies at a garage sale when I was 11 or so (too old for ponies then, boy did I make up for that sellers remorse!)

Glory, Bubbles, Moondancer, Gusty, Cotton Candy and Skydancer hit me hard when I see them.
