I know many fans of MLP also like video games, especially lots in the brony community, I see lots of artwork with crossovers with MLP and video games, as a gamer myself I would love to see an amazing MLP video game, imagine a combination of like a Viva Pinata, Skyrim, or Fable type of game, but a My Little Pony version! For the next gen consoles Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U. Say you can choose your pony race earth, unicorn, or pegasus.

Have tons of editing options from colors, to hairstyles, eyes, etc so everyone could create their very own OC then perhaps you start as a filly and have to earn your cutie mark, and there would be thousands of cutie marks you could earn by doing certain tasks, or visiting your favorite places, etc. Say if you spent your time with making money you could earn a cutie mark like money, or coins, etc. If you spent your time finding gems and collecting them you could get your favorite gem as a cutie mark or three! Could be particular animal, food, fruit, music. Etc! Finding out your destiny would be a huge part of the game.

Visit the neighra falls and visit the sea ponies, find rare gems and sea shells to trade in the shops, head over to Las Pegasus and play some gambling slots mini games to win some bits to purchase new items to decorate your house, or pony (which you would buy a house anywhere in Equestria and live there) Venture into the everfree forest and search for all kinds of rare items, visit Zecora, or get into some dangerous situations with all kinds of scary creatures! Enter the badlands and fight hordes of the changelings for a quest maybe to find and defeat certain queens! Drink a potion to become a Sea Pony and visit the underwater world of Equestria! Search caves of Vampire bat ponies! Join the crystal empires, Lunas, or Celestias guard, train and become a solider, and go to war with the griffons!

I've not played Skyrim or anything like that, but I love Sims, so something along those lines I'd definitely be interested in. Or even more of a linear adventure game for teen+ audiences. Basically anything for a more matured audience that isnt a simple money-making app I'd check out. ^.^

I'm always up for more video games, so I'd say yeah.
Though I won't lie, I'd prefer something more along the lines of Mickey Mouse: Castle of Illusion. Fun, suitable for kids and also a challenge for adults once set on hard mode :)

This sounds like a idea I hope will come out someday! Wow you nailed my idea of a pony game! I think I would prefer a G1 plus all other generations combined so the options could be endless. As for a plot I enjoy playing games when you hunt for stuff
Like Zelda and Mario combined. Something really colorful. not too much racing, I hate having to race in games. Or playing mini games that seem impossible to beat!

I would love that game to bits oh my gosh, but I think it would be cool if there was elements from rare games like Banjo Kazooie or the fun rpg elements of super paper mario on top of that!

I agree. "Go to war with the gryphons"? Doesn't sound like MLP to me, sounds like 'Brony Fanfics - The Video Game.'
In college I wanted to join The Computer Club because I liked video games, but I attended some of the meetings and all it was was a bunch of guys who got together to play things like Halo, Team Fortress 2, etc. Nothing else. There's more to video games than soldiers killing other soldiers.

My only issue with this idea, other than possible themes.. is that not -everyone- who would want to play the game(s) would be able to play them due to not having the consoles because of prices. There are some games I wish I could have played but I cannot afford the consoles for them..

tbh, I'm surprised they haven't made a G4 game yet (beyond the phone app and whatever little flash games they have on the official site), just given the entertainment market for kids nowadays. I think it would sell quite well. But I doubt it would be on a console. Probably the 3DS, something portable and more accessible for kids to play. Weren't there some G3 games for the DS?
I've always been fond of Fable and games like it. A kid-friendly version of that with ponies could be neat depending on how it's executed. I could do without the warring though.

While it's not as portable, the Nintendo Wii is pretty accessible for kids.

While it's not as portable, the Nintendo Wii is pretty accessible for kids.

My first reaction to a Fable, Fallout or Skyrim type pony game is YES!-- because I love those games. But those games have their own thing and there's no guarantee that would work for pony, and after all, if a Skyrim-type Pony game wasn't absolutely amazing and have a lot of unique things going for it, I'd just find myself wanting to actually be playing Skyrim.
As for a more kid friendly game, that's the more realistic option, and I'd be willing to give that a try too. Perhaps a kid-friendly version of the above, allowing you to explore Equestria, do quests, solve puzzles, explore ruins and magical locations, and battle monsters (in a G-rated way). I can see that being addictive and fun.

I love Skyrim (except those spiders...) but like TF2 I don't like them mixed with MLP.
A MLP Sims game does sound fun though...

i hate sims. hoenstly. But i would LOVE a mlp game for say the ps3 or the wii. i'm with the others who say i cant afford a pricey system.
but i'd love to see soemthign with beautiful graphics.. great cut scenes like.. a FF 13 or so style. or even Star ocean or the other Ff style. but nothing overly gorey or graphic. with a great story. but nothing too easy that you can beat in an hour.
but agian i doubt a game of this caliber would be for kids. it would likely be catered to bronys or adults or teens.

If they were to make an MLP RPG, they should take a page out of Dragon Age: Origin's book. Different paths, lots of choice, actually feels like you're on an adventure, good combat system, good character interaction etc. However, I would prefer it if it was based on G1 and drawn / generated in the style of Rescue To Midnight Castle. An RPG would suit G1 more.
And no, I don't want it to have blood / gore. I did mention Dragon Age, yes, but a Dragon Age-styled game doesn't need blood in it to work. Scars / bruises is as far as I would personally go if I was making an official MLP-themed thing. ;3 I believe that the darker themes should stay as fanart, and NEVER venture into official products. This is why the Brony impact on FIM's writers worries me sometimes lol. XD (Infanart,I'mreallydark>.>)
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what time brings us. I'm sure they'll make a G4 game, because they make a G4 everything else. XD

So many different opinions, I went to bed after I posted this so just reading them now! About the war idea that was just one random idea I had, I feel a MLP RPG game with endless hours of guests, choices and options would probably pull in so many new fans as well!
Mario, Zelda type story line but with more freedom like Fable and Skyrim sounds perfect to me, of course they would need to include lots of mane 6 I'm sure and quests revolving around them, but I think it would be amazing if they let you create your own character and start as a baby, grow to a filly, earn your cutie mark, advance in the world, live where you want to live, meet who you want to meet, play with your friends, discover your destiny, all of that! If you were a unicorn you could go to a school of magic and learn and master new spells, if you were a pegasus you could learn new flying abilities, etc. Glad someone mentioned Banjo Kazooie and Rare style of game I would love that, Rare would be a great company to develop the game I think! I love Rare games all I know is if hasbro ever grows a brain they would make a game for the consoles and I hope it would be something like I described and not just a short little story line game and then its over! I want tons of options, character design, locations, extra content, easter eggs, all of that!

I'd love a legit MLP rpg. Maybe even an mmorpg. So many possibilities but Hasbro will capitalize on none of them. Imagine how popular an official well made pony console game would be!

For me? No. I am kind of fed up with everything else taking its own little bit of ponies. I may sound like a fuddy duddy but I really would like if we could stick to toys and some simple merch. I dont understand the desire to cross MLP with absolutely everything in gaming/internet culture.

I wouldn't mind everything else if it were in addition to a really great toy line. But I agree, I'd rather MLP was focused on making more awesome ponies.

Yes. If the fan created stuff and the spin offs were minor or just complimentary to the toy line that would be ok. But right now I am starting to feel MLP is more about the merch and licensing than it is about the toys. So for the most part I am grumpy Cat on it.

Right I wouldn't expect it to be gory either an all ages type of game, Zelda, Banjo, Mario type with a Fable/ElderScrolls twist is perfection in my eyes!

I would want a MLP game in the style of a 2D action-adventure RPG. A bit like Zelda but with RPG elements like leveling-up and a less linear story perhaps. Oh course, it would have to be fun for kids and not gory! But I'm a sucker for big atmospheric dungeons and JRPGs, so if there could be a game like that I would be thrilled. I'm imagining a game like Alundra but with a party of four or so ponies, classic RPG elements, and a kid-friendly story.

Let's think about this: Should the title of this topic be..
- My Little Pony: The Video Game?
- Brony: The Video Game?
Come on..let's be realistic to what MLP's original intentions were/are.
The franchise was originally created for a YOUNG demographic of CHILDREN.
If My Little Pony was creatively taken over by the Brony community, things like THIS would start to occur.
I have NOTHING against Bronies. Nothing..but please! If people want games like this created for FiM it should be kept within the Brony community.
Realisticly, if Hasbro was going to make an MLP Video Game, it would certainly be more along the lines of CHILD-FRIENDLY concepts, not this "lets make an MLP version of Skyrim" business.
I agree - there is ALOT of potential within FiM that could lead to video games. The lore is a lot more rich, characters are quirky and the adventure elements have a lot that could be made into video games..but you've got to remember what MLP was originally made for.
Children. So the Video Game would more than likely be catered to..*gasp* children!

...Anyway. If MLP was made into a Video Game I think an Interactive World would be perfect! What with all the amazing scenery. But of course the playable factors and stories would have to be rather simple to keep within the original age demographic. Maybe not as tounge and cheek as some of the other titles. None of this "we have to make a dress for Minty's birthday!" or whatever, there could be a lot more to it than that. I just think - keep it bright, colourful, easy to control and with a story line that appeals to young ages.

Anyways Zelda, Mario, Banjo Kazooie type games are games all ages enjoy, so I think that would be the best type of game for them to make, and there is fighting in all of those games, anyways I only meant the Skyrim spin like how their would be a gigantic world you could explore and have lots of customization and personalization, with hours and hours of gameplay. Rather than just a strict story line, yes I think it would be good for them to have that as well, but be able to do tons of other things as well, adds more creativity to the game!

I think it's not hard at all to get my head around multiple kinds of MLP games. Combining Hasbro's assets with the strength of the fan community, the potential out there is actually really flexible.
I agree that the "real," official MLP game would absolutely have to be accessible to children; no guts or gore, so a very simple combat system (if there is one at all) and relying on mini games, puzzles, and character interaction for most of the interactivity would be the biggest part. There are all sorts of neat stylization options out there too, from full 3D figures to little pixilized sprites or something more cartoony like Professor Layton. It would be really neat to see a side story a little like how the comics work, that is, its own contained storyline that doesn't take away from the show or toys but might get a neat reference or two in them.
The biggest problem with this though is that licensed games are notorious for being terrible. It would need *just* the right team and involvement to really pull it off.
I admit I love fanfic, so I have all sorts of ideas for fan based games that could get away with more than an official game would, like a big MMORPG. Otherwise it would be crazy cool to have something where you could do a big exploring adventure and meet all kinds of cross-generational ponies that can come with you and help solve certain puzzles or fight away certain bad guys--it sounds a little like a combination of virtual collecting and playing with them like I did when I was a kid!

Zelda usually remains in the realm of cartoon violence, which is part of why it is so accessible. There are games with similar gameplay that go too much into the realm of actual violence for children, such as Pandora's Tower. I don't see why we would have to even have a game with anything beyond cartoon violence if there was to be a wide age group appeal. It's not like adults can only enjoy edgy, violent, bloodbaths.

Given what My Little Pony is, if they made an My Little Pony video game, it should be like Skylanders where each brushable pony toy can be place on or in an interface of some type and acts as an avatar in the game. It would be a win-win for Hasbro. Kids would want to collect the characters to open up more of the game. It would also be a toy that fits into the trend towards electronic entertainment while still providing a means of play when the kid does want to unplug.

Teens and adults already enjoy MLP -- I think we're all proof of that -- so there's really no need to make it more violent or whatever to appeal to an older crowd especially when the heart of MLP is (or should be) kids.
Also Animal Crossing or Skylanders-esque MLP games = yes, yes, yes for me. :heart:

It could be a DS game ala the phone game we have now, but I wouldn't want a REAL hardcore game. It wouldn't do well. I would love to have a little sim DS game that follows the story with fun mini games and stuff. Heck, maybe even a tactics game to beat the Big Baddies.

This! MLP does not need violence. Beating the Big Baddies is enough. It doesn't need swords, blood, any of that. Even if a fighting tactic was included attacks would be like X magic spell or Elements attack.
God no Skylanders please! I can't afford that! XD

I'm sure a lot of mothers will complain if there is violence in a videogame for little girls... Pokémon is one of the 'softest' battle game I've seen and it still recieves complaints... :whistle:

I think a detective MLP game would be cute. Start off with solving "little" crimes using clues (like "who ate Pinkie Pie's cake") and work your way up until you're foiling a plot by Chrysalis to unthrone Celestia or something.
I agree that the target demographic should be kept in mind--no gore, no blood--but at the same time I remember loving RaMC as a kid, which had lots of darkness and drama. MLP FIM has an older intended demographic than the G3 specials did and I think they can handle--and would probably welcome--some dramatic tension.

I think it's not so much that they can't handle it, but lessening the focus on combat and redirecting a lot of the activity in other was would be more in-line with current games (like the card game) and the show (where physical fights do happen, but problems are usually solved other ways). :)
If it were a brony game, then yeah, I'd expect a heavier combat system; I'd love to see more sequences like the "fight your way through changelings in Canterlot!" bit. But in-house or licensed, not so much, that'd be more puzzle and character driven.

I get why they need blood and gore in video games. A friend of mine is playing through Dragon Age where blood literally explodes out of something when it's hit and the character gets covered in blood. I was sitting there thinking "does this really improve the enjoyment of the game?"
I could see them going with something similar with the Legend of Zelda where it's more about puzzle solving. There's combat, but it's mostly against random monsters that disappear when you defeat them and very little is required.

I like this idea. I would personally like the idea of an adventure/exploring game. Maybe one where all of your ponies can work together to accomplish goals so that the more ponies you buy, the more /faster you can accomplish goals. That would certainly drive up toy sells.

I grew up on Zelda and tons of "Violent" games and yes most games are "Violent" no matter how you look at it. We could argue till the sun went down a hundred years from now about what should be made, what, where, who, how..... :pillow:

I think there's nothing wrong with dreaming..... If you don't agree with another persons dream, go dream your own ideas if you think they are better. But arguing :what: :dizzy:
Back on topic- I would love to see a shopping area with endless stuff to upgrade.. I hate playing a game and I collect everything there is to get in days. Yet I still collect coins/money (basically for nothing). The game gets put on the shelf with all the rest. :dumbpc:

I often wish there were more games that were complicated and fun to play, but with toned down/minimized violence. Like Harry Potter Legos or Spryo- more puzzle solving and stuff finding than epic battles, and no bloodshed...
I'm actually quite surprised that there isn't a major game out by now involving MLP. Seems like they whip out a game for just about everything else seconds after it becomes popular (harry potter, LOTR, etc.)

This is exactly what I want, it would be so fun! Like a fluffy little pony crime drama! Something like Ace Attorney, but not a mess like Turnabout Storm.

I never thought the game should have lots of violence, gore, etc. I think maybe the one picture is what threw people off, I think more puzzles, adventures, quests, exploration, mini games, interaction, and then fighting, spells, flying, etc as well! When I meant fighting I mean like Zelda, Mario, Banjo Kazooie, Crash, Spyro, type of violence which are rated E for everyone, this would satisfy everyone! You could maybe even choose certain paths in the game where more or less fighting was involved you know, depending on the type of pony you wanted to be!

Give me a console turn based RPG or something akin to Aminams (Animal Crossing).
I dislike violent games. Especially gore ones EXCEPT for something like NIER. It had a REASON to be violent and it worked for an impact not to disensitize.

That's why I never got Pinkie Pie's Party for DS as much as I love G3
I know everyone and their dog will disagree with me on here but originally yes it was targeted towards kids, and for their parents to enjoy, but I would say that is changing in some ways now. Yes it is still targeted towards kids. Also I think more and more the show and the merch is being targeted towards bronies and adults. Such as the references in season 4, the appearances of :muffin: Pony, and more things put in the show for the bronies! As well as certain merch and figures such as many items at hot topic, especially the funko figures those I know for a fact are NOT targeted towards kids, they are targeted towards collectors and bronies especially. It is changing that is my opinion.
Also G4 FIM is not meant to be light like G3, therefore a light version wouldn't make sense. G4 can be very dark at times, funny at times, scary at times, happy at times, sad at times, etc. So I think the emlements of the show should reflect into the video game (if we ever get one) So the amount of fighting, villains, and violence from the show should be in the game as well.

But the thing is: I hate anything Fallout related, never played Viva Pinata X_X, in a matter of fact, I HIGHLYdislike any shooting/rp/"what have you" games :/
I'm not a fan of anime games, so if an MLP game were to be based off of, let's say Zelda or Kingdom of Hearts, that'll be a MAJOR turn off to me X_X
And you gotta remember that MLP's is pointed towards little girls (original target) so it's gotta be light :s but not to light like "Let's water the flowers and stare at the screen for 5-10 minutes and watch em grow XD" No... ._.

It really depends. If it were a game as well made as Fighting as Magic would have been (I can confirm this because I actually got to play a demo at a con), sure!
But from a gamer's perspective, cartoon-to-video games rarely come out decent. That's just me, though. I don't see how an MLP game would come out too good.
In college I wanted to join The Computer Club because I liked video games, but I attended some of the meetings and all it was was a bunch of guys who got together to play things like Halo, Team Fortress 2, etc. Nothing else. There's more to video games than soldiers killing other soldiers.
Hey! I take offense to this! Sometimes, it's about Scouts killing other Scouts. And by that I mean we run around and never actually hit each other.

But that doesn't matter, because according to Hasbro and their sales, majority of their money is made from children, therefore, collectors and "bronies" are second and always will be. Never forget that. Just because Hasbro is throwing us a few poorly made "vinyls" and "collector sets" doesn't mean anything.
Once we get a golden limited-to-1000 pieces Celestia, then we'll be noticed. Until then, Hasbro's just throwing us a bone.

Has anyone here ever played Horse Isle 1 or 2?
Those are really fun online games where you explore different lands, catching & training various horse breeds.
You can go on quests, play minigames & compete on the show circuit against other players.
I think something with this level of content & customization would be perfect for MLP. No need for violence, & it would appeal to all ages.
I really love the idea of creating your own pony, choosing their cutie mark/destiny & watching them grow up while interacting with various characters.
I also think the G2 Friendship Gardens pc game was very well-made. The combination of adopting & caring for your own pony while playing games with the other characters works really nicely.
I still play it occasionally to this day. :P

Hate the Gameloft game with all my soul (especially for the micro-transaction thing, i think that those things had to be forbidden by law in a kids game, it´s gross.) so a full game in one of the standard plattform for me is fine.
Sincerely sometimes im amused about how the people is worried about the adult content in the G4, and how the people seems to be totally fine with a game who trains the kids from their early childhood in paying overhelming quantitys of money for...nothing. Virtual smoke.
¿Maybe a game Mario-Party style? Suitable for kids and for fans/brony meetups together.

Hey, a Mario Party like deal where you pick a pone and play minigames sounds like a great idea. I just probably wouldn't have the rolling
the dice/board game elements included, but yeah, minigames! Who doesn't like those?

Given what My Little Pony is, if they made an My Little Pony video game, it should be like Skylanders where each brushable pony toy can be place on or in an interface of some type and acts as an avatar in the game. It would be a win-win for Hasbro. Kids would want to collect the characters to open up more of the game. It would also be a toy that fits into the trend towards electronic entertainment while still providing a means of play when the kid does want to unplug.
Oh that's a great idea!! The kids can play out the adventures they had ingame.

Agree with you 100%. I'm sure parents would prefer to spend money on PHYSICAL toys, not virtual ones. Ok, I know some virtual goodies require money, but it's really stupid to make a kid pay :/

I'd also love to see a game with exploration and puzzle-solving elements similar to Zelda and Okami, but without the suggestive content the latter has. Violence wouldn't have to be over-the-top, it could be something similar to that found in the old Spyro games where the enemies turn into gems or puffs of smoke. Games aren't often rated (I'm not talking about the ESRB here) on violence or adult-content, they're appreciated for their storylines and gameplay. A storyline that's gentle enough for children, but mature enough for adults would be ideal, like that in the Zelda or E-rated Fire Emblem games.
I'm opposed to the idea of a Skylanders-like game because I do not want to have to pay for additional characters to unlock content already on the game.

I would certainly buy it if I had the console it was released on. I have a 3DS.... I could totally see a 3DS game made of MLP.
If they made one, I'd like something they'd take time on to actually make fun and interesting instead of slapping the name "My Little Pony" on crap and selling it.
Most games based off toys or cartoons aren't good. Very few exceptions.

As a great Zelda fan I don't see how you all expect Zelda to work with ponies. Without combat, its just an adventure puzzle game. And I would never want to see ponies in that kind of combat. And Zelda may have a linear storyline but the game play itself is hardly linear. Not wide open sandbox by any means but definitely based around exploration and world building.
Zelda type games require combat and dungeons and a big bad. None of those are suitable for ponies.
I loved the G2 computer game. Any pony game should be more expansive on what Friendship Gardens had to offer.

Did you watch the season 1 premiere, season 2 finales, or season 4 finales, etc? All I mean by fighting is fighting such things as manticores, hydras, changelings, villians, etc.

Thats still increadibly cartoonish, designed to be exciting, but not violent per say. It was made with strong added in humor, such as pinkie using her party canon in the season 2 finally (which, btw, I did watch).

I'd love to become a pony, and move into Ponyville (or maybe you even get a choice of towns to move into, like Canterlot or Cloudsdale!), talk to ponies, live a simple life as a pony. Maybe you could get "jobs" and do things like clear the sky or farm or make cake. You could form friendships with the other ponies. There's goals you can accomplish but you don't HAVE to do them; you're free to do what you want.
That would be THE dream game for me, honestly. :lovey:

I feel like the community is so tired of the brony "look, we've combined every violent video game with ponies" trend that now we're swinging the pendulum too far the other way. As a little girl I watched ponies getting chained to sewing machines to make cloth out of their own hair to turn all their friends into glass. What's a little Zelda style violence compared to that?
