Title: If your post gets too old, you can't edit it?
Post by: WingsOfMasquerade on April 29, 2014, 12:14:09 AM
If you're signed in, usually you can always edit your post.
But, with regards to my old trade post, I can't find the edit button any more. It's like it's just....gone. Also, by its title there is a little lock icon. Did the post lock because it is ancient? Can you only edit it a certain number of times before it expires? (I think I edited it like 11x over the ages it has been around) There are no moderator messages inside it (like it broke a rule or something) Its always a couple of months before new stuff gets added, I don't really heckle it once it's updated with my current ponies.

This is where it is now

It isn't a big deal.
I can still access it to copy paste my wish list. It's an easy thing to make an all new one instead. But I didn't know if I should. I would like to get the Big Trade Box going again because I had lots of cool stuff to add to it.
Thanks for any advice

It has always been a standard practice to lock up old threads, the new site does it automatically. Most forums are set to 6 months, some longer (http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,315695.0.html).

It would seem no activity has happened on the thread since July 2013. Activity means new posts (bumping), not just editing the first post.

I will unlock it for you, but do keep an eye on it.
