So I decided to repaint the cutie mark on a custom G1 to G4 Surprise I made, seeing as I am a bit better with smaller work after a few projects. When I removed the cutie mark though, there was a pink bleed into the plastic.

I tried nail polish remover, but of course that didn't quite clean it up. I even tried just painting over it, but the new cutie mark job does not totally cover the old one's bleed. Do I have to sunfade it, or is there another method that would create a clean base for me to paint on? Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!

As the pony is white I'd say some zit cream might help if you don't want to sunfade it. If you end up trying it, remember to test it under the hoof or somewhere else where it isn't visible first. The zit cream I use is white in color and hasn't yellowed any white ponies I have used it on and works rather fast, but some colored ponies (pink for example) fade badly when zit cream is used on them and I have a vague memory of some white pony yellowing, though I am not sure if the zit cream used was colored there. Normally zit cream is my last resort, but in this case it might work well.

As she is now, odds are you'll have to sunfade or repaint. (I could be wrong, but that's my guess)
I've found thanks to helpful tips I received here that if you thoroughly coat the symbol in sunblock before going after it with nail polish remover and change your cotton/pads/swabs etc often it helps keep it from staining so much.

If you use zit cream, it will fade the new symbol if you paint over the spot. Sunfading really is your only option.

Ack, didn't know that! D:

Yeah.... It's really not fun when you buy a bait no one told you it was used on and a few months later your nice pretty custom has patches.

Sounds horrible x_X Yikes.

Thanks for the advice, everyone! Lots of good stuff to know. I'll be getting a small mirror tomorrow to sunfade her.
