Title: investigator117 on Ebay--update, she's relisted a damaged pony >:|
Post by: Shiromisa on March 08, 2014, 06:19:14 PM
A friend wanted me to pass this along! "I just want to give a warning about the seller investigator117 on ebay. They like to list ponies that have faults and not put it in their listing. Specifically in my research they've sold a Night Glider twice now. Please beware if you see one sold by this seller."

In this case, my friend bought a Nightglider from them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251451703190

When she arrived, she had bite marks in her ear and leg:

She also sold an identical listing previously, this time with the flaws noted: http://www.ebay.com/itm/My-Little-Pony-G1-Night-Glider-Rare-/251426481552 So why wouldn't she note the flaws when she relisted it? :/ Weird. In any case, this is definitely a seller to avoid!

UPDATE
So, it appears she's relisted her, again without noting the flaws. The title is "My Little Pony G1 Night Glider Rare with Unique magnetic bracelet worth $40!"

Poor Nightglider...  :( I remember that listing, as I was going to bid on it. I'm kinda glad I didn't. I'm so sorry for your friend. I'm sure there was much disappointment about her condition. I really hope she can work something out with the seller or leave appropriate feedback. That's not something you forget to mention on an auction.

So the seller mentions light, washable marks but not the chewing marks? I would fill a claim with ebay for item not as described at once  I'm so sorry your friend had so much bad luck :(

It's all been resolved now, thankfully. She returned it for a refund, but the seller was very rude about it and she had to pay return shipping. Hopefully it's no one here!

I looked at the previous auctions, you can definitely see it's the same pony as in the buyer's photo, and the chew marks are mentioned, I would have filed a case, I think that way you can avoid return shipping if ebay finds it to be fraudulent? I would be annoyed to have to pay for someone else's deviant actions, I feel for your friend!

That's horrible! Notice how her hair covers the chewed up ear and rough neck. And her hoof is hidden in the second picture by that little bag. I hope no one buys the pony, and if they do, they get their money back and get the seller in trouble!

As this is now relisted on ebay with no mention of chew marks, your friend could report the item to eBay and provide photos and correspondence as evidence?

In the pictures she has you can see the ingrained dirt all over her legs and feet. As a buyer, I'd be asking for closer photos since she says there's only a couple tiny flaws. Definitely a seller to avoid! If she ends up selling that pony again, she needs to be prepared for negative feedback....

It's horrible when sellers do this, the buyer could end up really disappointed if they don't ask for better photos. I don't understand why a seller would risk their feedback like this, totally weird

Wow, thanks for the warning! I was going to try to bid on Night Glider this time. I watched the auction last time, too. I thought it was weird that the auction was relisted, and so I looked and noticed that the seller added "She has a mark in the plastic behind her ear that is hard to notice unless you turn her over and move her hair" the second time around. So I thought that was the only thing the former buyer noticed and returned her for. But actual bite marks on both her ear and foot! What is this lady thinking?

I wonder why the bracelet? Sounds like she's jacking up the price to include this thing that she probably has buyers regret for...

Also I'm pretty sure this seller had two NGs listed not that long ago. One with a bin of $50, and another for $100.

Hello everyone. I'm the friend that bought the Night Glider and spread the word. I have talked with eBay personally. Even its been relisted she's added in a few more faults. The pics though are really bad and over exposed. I just hope the person bidding on that Night Glider knows exactly what they are going after  >_<

I updated the listing. If you zoom you will see the mark I am talking about.

this was the reply i got, though the quality of images in the new listing are worse.
i told her "thank you for the update, but the pictures are very blurry and impossible to see details"
we'll see what happens.

Maybe you should flat out ask, "Does she have any bite marks that are hidden by her hair? I would like clear pictures of ALL flaws, please."

Being that blunt would probably chase her off, but saying "Could I get detailed, clear pics of all flaws, please" might get results!

Hmmm . . . she does say in her listing, ". . . Two light dots by belly and a light mark on foot and very light dent on the foot. She has a bite mark in the plastic behind her ear. Is hard to notice unless you turn her over and move her hair." So I guess she's noting the bite marks on her foot (kind of) and ear, but not picturing them very well. It's weird, since she has 100% positive feedback. But she should really be more careful in her listing. She also took away the $100 buy-it-now.

I'm almost certain she edited that in. When I saw it, the description mentioned a mark on the ear without going into any detail, and nothing at all about the leg. But at least there's a little more accountability there!

So that's her idea of a clear image, huh? Funny that the other ones (which hid the flaws) are so much nicer.
You can see some bite marks, but it's still a sad excuse for a picture. I feel sorry for whoever wins. I hope they can get their money back!

You can see in the picture that this was taken in a car. Do you think it was deliberately done at an angle in the sunlight so that the sun would wash out the marks? That's how it looks to me. There are areas of shade in that car where she could have easily taken the photo. It's sad to what lengths this seller will go to sell this pony.

Ugh it is sooooo aggravating when obnoxious sellers have HTF ponies.  I am sorry that she is being so rude and unprofessional about all of this.  Seriously, she could still sell the pony with the flaws, it would just be a little cheaper.  Personally, I would love a Nightglider and I don't mind chew marks, but I would never give this person my money after I have seen the way she treats other people!  :(

If you want to bid or not it is your prerogative. Please don't bid if you are not interested.
My reply to her telling me it was a bite mark:
Quote
Bite mark?! That certainly doesn't warrant a $100 price tag! You should really document the marks in your initial photos.

I will wait for photos to decide to even bid. Have you consider lowering your bin because of the bite mark?
Sooooo I think I hit her hard on that one? :dizzy:

Like Squirmy said, I would be totally fine with her marks. I could easily hide or fix them. She's kinda rude. I think she is getting the idea that she isn't going to sell without proper documentation.

I am nearly 100% positive that she used the same initial photo from the FIRST time I seen this on ebay. Matter of fact, I seen this on ebay, 2 of them at the same time. One for a BIN of $100, another of $50. Now this, BIN of $100 again, now relisted with a starting bid of $20 without a BIN? Yeesh. I don't really wanna give her money...
She didn't even offer to show me photos when I asked, when I said that I would wait to see them before placing a bid.

Just noticed she has a BIN of $100 on a TAF Love Melody too...

When I asked for my money back on Night Glider the seller was more keen about getting that necklace back rather then the pony. I'm wondering if she's shill bidding herself or a friend to draw out more bids on that pony. This is what she replied back to me when I asked for a refund. I think she's just really rude to deal with honestly ;(

That is fine. I'm not going to send you money with out the pony and the bracelet back. The bracelet alone is worth $40. The pony I paid $40 for. I have already sent you $10 so it will be $36 instead of $46. I will send you your money the day I get the pony and bracelet back. You can keep this e mail as proof of our agreement.

It sounds like she got ripped off, and maybe arranged payment a way that she has no recourse, so is trying to be deceptive to pass on her mistake! No thank you, crazy ebay lady... do what any of us here would do, and just get what you can get, and forget about losing out on the darn pony, because it's done with!

Gonna bump this up because I have a funny story! My boyfriend actually bought me a pony for a gift and it was this pony! I can't believe it. He said the transaction was smooth and she got here fast, but the damages are the same.
he got the hint that I wanted this pony because she's my background right now and I have shown him photos of her before. What a silly boy. I seriously cannot believe I got THIS exact one.

I feel kinda bad about it but....he got her for a steal. I mean, I think we can fix the marks but...wow,  I just don't know. Just...wow. I made a thread in the Corral about it with photos if you wanna check it out.
