Have you been pony shopping and found yourself surprised at the fact that a certain pony was still in stock? Imagine my surprise at finding Wysteria at Target today! I thought that Target had gotten rid of the Pinkie Pie Boutique line, but I guess not. I had been on the fence on getting Wysteria before, and the time I thought about finally getting her, she was gone. So, when I saw her today, I decided to finally go ahead and pick her up. ^.^
If you any similar pony stories to tell, I would like to hear them.

For the longest time, my Meijer had the Glimmer Wings ponies and just recently sold out of them. I waited a little too long on them and missed out :(
I also found a K Mart that was selling the scooter RD and Twilight sets.

I found Diamond Rose in February of last year...at a super market :P Most stores didn't even have Lyra and Trixie any more (they lasted all of about 2 weeks and didn't seem to ever be restocked :cry: ) so boy was I shocked! And, I bought Glimmer Wings Ploomette a couple of months ago as she had been shelf-warming for about a year, poor gal :lol:

I found a wave 1 Rarity at Toys R Us last fall. She was in among all the masquerade singles. I was surprised! They also still have tooons of Zecoras.
My mom finds older wave ponies at... Dollar General? Family Dollar? One of those.
My Target is still selling Pinkie Pie's Boutique too! I bought a Wysteria there two weeks ago. I should probably get the car set before they clear them out to make way for Rainbow Power.

I found a local bookstore that still has Cherry Berry and a couple other wedding singles. o.o

Probably about eight years ago, I was in Albertson's grocery shopping and found a G1 Merry Go Round board game on the shelf, still sealed. Of course I picked it up to buy! :lol: It didn't come up in their system, so the slightly befuddled cashier decided to sell it to me for $1. Still not sure how it ended up there -- maybe it was buried in the depths of the stock room? -- but I was a pretty happy camper! I think it's still in my storage closet unopened, especially since I had the same game opened from my childhood.

I was at Walmart the other day and they had a Ponyville mermaid set and a styling size G3.5 Pinkie! I was shocked!

Yeah, the full Pinkie Pie's Boutique line still seems to be at Target... except for the EQG doll, whom I never once saw. ;_; The purse Pinkie is on clearance down to $12.99 or something, but that's still way too pricey for a single playful pony. And all the singles are from the masquerade line with Sunset, naturally.
(Oh, and half a million Spa Pony Sets, in both Target and Toys R Us. Reckon it'll be 2015 before Groovin' Hooves or Pony Lesson shows up.)

My Canadian TRU *just* got the Luna and Celestia FS 2 pack, and the canterlot castle with Starbeam twinkle and shine bright twilight. They are on shelves now, lol. That's a bit of a throwback.

Last year, I found G3 Crystal Princesses at a pharmacy store. I regret not picking them up, but at the time it wasn't that big of a deal to me. I don't think I realized just what I was dealing with. :lol:

My TrU here in Barrie still has those sets. There's also the 2 pack glittery FS Twi and RD that...just...sit.

The stores around here seem to clear out their old stock fairly quickly; so, I haven't seen anything all that old recently. However, I was surprised to see a Shine Bright Rainbow Dash just last week. The same store still had a couple of Glimmer Wings as well.

I snagged a Midnight Dreams from CVS last year. Ended up giving her away in a swap but I was shocked they had her!

It's funny, my CVS still had a G3 Midnight Dream on the shelf up until about 2 years ago! I think she was $8 or $9- maybe that's why she stayed so long? Or maybe not many people go to a pharmacy store to buy ponies :P

Late 2012, one of the Targets near me had G3s that had been out for 3-4+ years. I imagine they went into clearance once G4 started emerging.
My local supermarkets still have a good cache of masquerade ponies and design-a ponies (RD and Luna).

No way, I ALSO went to a Target today and was surprised to find the sparkly Wisteria (and 3 sparkly Pinkie Pies)! I didn't get her because I was on the fence and kind of in a hurry, but now I regret it so I'll see if she is still there tomorrow and nab one of the Pinkies, too. Cannot. Resist. The glitter.

Just today my local toy shop had the wedding singles, fun at the fair with sweetie belle and apple bloom, and rd designer pony. The toy shop where we holiday has ponyville bnib - including the teapot palace!!!

Actually the same Rarity's carousel set has been sitting at my local Big W for several years - I know it's the same one because there's a scratch on the box, and it's still got the $50 on it it has the day they released it!

I remember finding 2 Springtime Fluttershys in Big Lots long after I'd finally stopped seeing them on clearance in other stores.
I was also surprised this week to see that first 12-pack TRU blindbag set on shelves, but the second one they put out isn't even on their website anymore, and is going for $100 or more on ebay. O_o

Twilight's Sparkling Balloon at a local Toyworld. It was still there when I visited last year, not sure if it's still there now - but I wouldn't be surprised because it's full price

Just last week I picked up a few set at a local store (who apparently does not sell their toys much...)
There was a few glimmer wings, Daisy Dream and Fluttershy, Rainbow dash wedding, Sweet Apple barn, Spring Fluttershy, Sweetie Belle's Ice cream train and Fluttershy's nursery train.
There was some ride-along, they also had a lot of ponyville sets! But I didn't grab thoses.
I will put some of them for sale/trade, but I'm keeping some for myself too!
I also saw Pinkie pie and her rc car at TRU yesterday, I Wonder if I should go get her...

Shortly after G3.5 were released, I found Alphabittle in our local Albertsons' toy section, back behind a box of Hot Wheels. Didn't expect to see her there!

Rite Aid had G3.5 Cheerilee up until last year sometime. I wish I'd gotten her. By the time I decided I wanted to collect Ponies from every generation, even that one, she was gone.
Right now they have a wedding single Rainbow Dash and also her crystal keychain. Or they did a few weeks ago, which means they probably still have them. They're charging $9 for the wedding single! Bleh, drug store prices.

My local Toys R Us is having trouble getting rid of their Favorites Collections - and I mean the first one with Nightmare Moon! Although I guess it isn't THAT old. And they have the first two Ponyville/blindbag-sized Collectors Sets, and a fair amount of them, too!

I found plumsweet, dewdropdazzle, feathermay and snowcatcher at a dollar general last year and it was buy 1 get 1 half off. Havent noticed anything like that recently though

My local Rite Aid had a G3 Sweetie Belle with writing on her in late 2012. I almost picked her up because I was so shocked to see something G3 still on a shelf.
The same store has been known to cough up old-ish stock. There's a Trixie brushable with DVD that shelf warmed for months last Spring.

Target @ ballarat today had rd camping set - my daughter was stoked as she's been wanting it for ages!! Gotta love country towns :)

Back about 1995 I was in a small town store and they had a Happy Tails Tabby MIB. They were asking about $12 and I convinced my dad to buy it for me. Back whe there were still TG&Ys which in OK was about 1997/98 they still had Sunshine Pony Mainsail. Never did manage to buy her. More recently I found Lyra at my Walmart hiding among the masked ponies. I grabbed her! Now my DD9 is clamoring for one of her own...lol

Old enough that she doesn't tend to turn up much! I regret not buying her and the other new Ponies from those lines. I only have Diamond Rose, Trixie, and Lyra other than main 6 singles. I had no idea that non-main 6 Ponies would become so rare.

Yeah I don't get why they don't discount the long-term shelf-warmers. We've had that rainbow set of 7 blind bags at Tesco here for...two years? Maybe more? They reduced the price for a bit and then increased it. Because if no one's buying it at £8, charging £13 is totally gonna encourage it?
Too true. Every Tesco I am in still has these sitting on shelves. In fact 2 of my local stores are stocking no other pony items other than these. Which are no doubt the same packs as have been there from the start.
My local independent toy store still has G3.5 blind bags while TK Maxx has various G3.5 mermaid sets and about a half dozen Easter Fluttershys who have been shelf warming for a couple of years now.

She was £2.99 last I was in. Which, if member serves, would be around 1/2 price ish for what they were originally selling the playful waves at when they hit shelves 3 years ago.

I did one time see some G3 ponies when the G4 ones were out. It was cool :)

My local Entertainer (UK toy shop) has G3 crawling Pinkie Pie, when I asked if they had any other older ponies in stock the lady mentioned the 25th anniversary but I've yet to see that stuff on the shelves.

Yes, Last week, they only had 1 of each , I asked the lady to see if the had more at other stores, she said there was showing 2 at each store, so I guess each store got 1 of each only
she gave me the locations of the other stores ,but all are far away from me .

Here's one for ya from this afternoon:
I was up in Pittsburg earlier and stopped by the Hastings there. Now, that one of those even still exists was a surprise in and of itself... but then who should I spot in a remote corner of the store but wave 1 Twi, bangs and all!
She is mine now. Today was a good day. ^.^

My most exciting find was Glimmer Wings Daisy Dreams at TRU a couple weeks ago. I actually saw her (they only had one), put her back, went home, regretted not getting her, and went back the following week and she was still there! I was on the fence about pursuing the Glimmer Wings but this sealed the deal. :)

Back in the day of the early TP, someone found a G1 Kitchen set at TRU. Also someone found MOC sparkle babies at a white elephant store in the early Arena days!
I've seen the odd g3 here and there at stores like rite aid and such.
