Hi Ponies!
Okay, I was looking through some of my collection, and I was thinking about certain ponies that I just love to pieces, but when I think about the pose they are in, I realized I normally don't like that pose!
Take Rapunzel for example. Her pose is always been "ick" to me. I would not collect ponies in that pose normally. BUT Rapunzel is Gorgeous to me! And oddly, I could not imagine her in a different pose!
So, some questions:
What is your least favorite pose? What ponies have you made the exception for? Would you ever change their pose if you could? Make them a different species? Different age? Even gender?
What generation has the most poses you do like?

So for me, (and I'll just stick with 'Punzie here!), I have made the exception, even though she is in my least favorite pose. BUT, I would consider swapping her pose if, say, she were made a Sweetheart Sister in Sweet Sundrop's pose.
As for the generation of poses I love the most, oddly, I think it would have to be G2!
Who's next?

You know, I'm one of those people who don't really hate any of the poses ponies are put in. I have less favored, but not hate. That being said, the original Minty may have been nicer in a different pose as the donkey one, while cute, was not very flattering. Still, they made other versions of her so my thoughts are kinda moot on the matter.

I'm not incredibly picky about poses, but I do not like the pose Tuneful is in. I love Tuneful to pieces (as well as other ponies in that pose!), but my ponies in that pose always seem to lean on their lifted leg instead of standing on the other three and I haaaate it when they do that. Whenever I catch them leaning I set them back up again even if they start leaning again not long later. Quit that!! :silly:

I always thought Cherries Jubilee had a strange pose but I got her so soft version cause I needed to finish that set. I also admit the Quackers and Rapunzel poses are also very weird. I want Rapunzel, but I think she would be a lot nicer in the Twilight So Soft pose. It's just looks 100X times nicer. The way Rapunzel's legs are make me cringe because it just looks so uncomfortable.

I loves me some Moondancer but I HATE her pose! She looks like an elephant with a massive bum. I love variants of her in Glory's pose but I think she would have looked best in Gusty's pose. Or, ooh... Powder's pose.

I don't really hate any of the G1 poses, but the ones I like the least are the shy pose, Tootsie pose, Moondancer pose, and the Bunny Hop pose.
There are certain ponies that change my mind about the poses though (one being Lady Starflower's beautiful Ariel custom that looks amaaazing in the shy pose. Just love it!) I think it just depends on the pony for me :)

I don't really hate any pose but I do agree that Moondancer's pose makes me do a squoogley face. Its the J-Lo bottom - its just weird :P So I would like to have seen Moondancer perhaps in the same pose as Galaxy and Fizzy and Sunbeam in Mimics pose.

Well there are poses I'm less crazy about like Moondancer's and Gingerbread poses, but the only one that really stops me buying ponies I think I would love in another pose is the Tootsie pose. I just hate the stubby legs and that one bend leg that is clearly much longer than the others.

Not really sure if this counts, as I really don't have any poses I particularly hate, but Euro Confetti's shy pose over the Posey pose.
I really feel that the Posey pose really makes her gorgeous hair colors pop way more than the shy version. That being said I don't hate it. ;)
Also...ponies in the Firefly pose. I love Firefly but I don't like her pose on any other pony! I guess I'm just picky. :P
I think I should elaborate, I think the Firefly post looks pretty goofy, mostly because of the face. But it fits Firefly herself, for some odd reason.

I'd have to say the donkey pose from G3 icks me out. but I adore G3 Skedoodle! she just looks so cute:

Moondancer has a gorgeous design, but I'd prefer her in Glory or Gusty's pose. It would do her so much more justice. That being said, the pose certainly won't put me off buying her. ;)
Sunbeam would look better in Powder or Mimic's pose, admiring the sky.
Ooo, & I think TE Skyrocket would look stunning in Posey or Truly's pose.

Sky Rocket and Moondancer just look unfortunate. They could be so pretty and feminine and they just... don't. :(

My glitter Sky Rocket is, in my pony world, a male pony. He wears a pony naut outfit and traveled to space where he fell in love with the alien pony, TE Galaxy :P
There's a way around his unfemininity :P

The only G1 pose I actively hate is the Tootsie pose. It really doesn't work for me. I would absolutely *love* to see Rosette in another pose(any other pose...). She's such a beautiful pony, but that pose just kills it for me. My favorite pose is Bowtie's shy pose, and it would suit Rosette perfectly.
I'm not the biggest fan of Moondancer's pose either, but I like it a lot more than Tootsie's!

I'm jumping on the Tootsie pose hate train! I think she really could be one of my favorite ponies if only she was in the shy pose or Tic Tac Toe's pose! Love that one!

I'm not fond of the Tootsie pose but Raincurl was a childhood pony so I have a special fondness for her. :)
I'm also not a fan of the Firefly pose but Medley us such a pretty pony. I like Peppermint Crunch too.
Weirdly, I don't mind either the Moondancer or Shady poses.

Definitely Princess Tiffany! I LOVE her, but I do NOT care for the Locket pose at all. :(
Also, poor Moondancer, I also dislike her pose. I think she would look better in just about any other pose, poor girl.
For me it is probably a tie between G1 and G3 for best poses. They both have poses that I really like and it is too hard to choose! :biggrin:

I like the Moondancer pose on the display side . . . maybe partially it's from nostalgia, but I just like how Moondancer and Sunbeam look in that pose. The later pony in that pose (the pink candy cane hair one) just looks plain terrible!
To me, the big butt pose is the Taffy pose. Crumpet's pose from that year is much better.
I would love to see Powder in Gusty's pose--I think she is pretty as is, but I remember from childhood that the looking-up pose is a bust if you want to play with the ponies. Plus I think the Gusty pose is just a very pretty unicorn pose, and Powder has gorgeous colors.
Gingerbread in any other pose b/c the Shady pose is my least favorite by far! Plus I'm not a fan of the twinkle eyes so I'd love to see her with normal eyes.

I like the Tootsie pose. Mainly 'cause one of my first childhood ponies was Merriweather, and I think it looks adorable. :)
Something looks "off" about the Moondancer pose. I've never owned any ponies in that pose.

When I first got into ponies, I used to dislike Tootsie-pose for some reason. There was a point where all the ponies I was getting were in that pose, Cherries jubilee, Raincurl, Molasses, Play-time.. Maybe it was just a bad timing but Tootsie-posed ponies were haunting me lol.
Nowadays I don't dislike it anymore though, I think Cherries Jubilee is absolutely beautiful in that pose (not to mention Lickety Split Argie variations!!). But still if I could change some pony from Tootsie pose, it would be Merriweather, and also Sweet Suds. I think Merri's prettiness with all those symbols is lost with that pose. I'd like to see if Sugarberry or some other pose would work on her. And Sweet Suds just looks like a pink hippo. :P
(Was just looking at the year six TAFs and I think Bonnie Bonnets is the only pony in Shy pose that just doesn't fit! I absolutely love that pose and there's sooo many pretty ponies in that pose. But not sure what it is with Bonnie Bonnets, maybe the symbols and the pose. She looks grandmaish. All the other TAFs are so young and pretty! Poor Bonnets.) :)

For years and years I hated the Shady pose so much that I wouldn't have any pony in that pose in my collection. Which was a shame because I was missing some beautiful ponies like Gingerbread and Scrumptious. Then suddenly one day I realized I'd stopped hating that pose for some reason.

I also used to hate the Tootsie pose. I don't mine it so much now, but it's still not my favorite. I think what broke me was acquiring UK Snowflake, though I think she would be much prettier in the Posey pose. I'd also put Sweet Suds in the shy pose.
I think if there's one pose that I actively dislike, it's the Sugarberry pose, though there are some ponies in that pose that I do like. I had a dream once that I found a Dream Beauty with Sugarberry's symbols at a thrift store, and I think that would be really pretty for her! There's also Tootie Tails... she'd be pretty cute in the collector's pose, I think. :)

Yeahhh, the Donkey Pose is a big no-no for me. I don't appreciate it when my ponies look like they scream at me. Toboggan, Dainty Daisy, Flutterbutter are all ponies I think look really nice but the pose is killing it for me. They look like the vet is putting an arm in... >_<

I actually like all of the g1 poses, but I remember the Gingerbread pose being my least favorite as a kid. I think a sparkle Sky Rocket in Posey's Pose would look cool!
For G3, I like mail order Sunshimmer, but don't much care for her pose. I would love to see her in Gem Blossom's pose.

I actually quite like Donkey pose, I think my ponies in that pose looks so cute all lined up next to each other facing forwards. Honestly G3 wise I'm really not a fan of the 'Core' poses, but if I want to get all the Pinkie Pies I'll have to get her quite a few times. I dont like Diva pose either but there are so many beautiful ponies in the pose that I will keep buying it.
There are more poses I dont like very much but no ponies that I really really want in those poses so it doesn't really matter. My favorite pose ever is January Carnation, its so beautiful and cute at the same time.
I'm not fussed about G2, G3.5 or G4 poses. As for G1 I really dont like the 'Posey' pose but Posey herself is adorable and I have a Lickety Split in the same pose who I'm in no hurry to part with. I love the G1 Bow Tie pose best, they look very gentle and sweet, its lovely.

That would be Strawberry Sunrise. She doesn't show up much in the show, but when she does, she's beautiful. Eeeeh. Recolored muffin pony mold, no thanks. But you know, it's been growing on me since I got her, and I can't wait to get her with the glitter attached too...

Sphere in g2`s neck spoils the view so much :huh: I would say I don`t like any g1 bodies. They are too big and too soft ruber. But I collect them becouse of pretty color combinations.

Can't stand the Tootsie pose either, but I made an exception for Merriweather, Raincurl, Euro Tootsie, Rosette and Snowflake! But, I can't *bear* cherries Jubilee or Tutti Frutti.
Also couldn't stand Northstar because of her pose and had to get rid of her! Weird isn't it!?! Glad I'm not the only one! :P

I also am not a fan of the Tootsie pose, but I don't not collect them because of that. I think I would love to just see it be a little less... I dunno. The head pose is weird to me and the large feet. I love the ponies in this pose, just not the pose itself... ;)

They look really masculine to me. My Moonshadow lives with his wife Sugar Belle and sister Cupcake, and it makes sense that he's a boy because he bows. (Though to Hasbro's credit, a curtsey pony would be strange... how would that even work? :lol: )

It's not that I hate the Gusty pose, it looks great from certain angles, but it can also be really awkward. I can't position my Gypsy on my shelf in a way that doesn't make her neck look broken no matter what I do.

I can't stand the shy-pose - both of them. I do like Sundance and UUA, but I just hate those poses.

It's not so much that I dislike it, but I find Mimic's pose incredibly annoying. I do like the "looking high and mighty" aspect, but every pony I've had in that pose has trouble standing because it's so easily warped and I'm so tired of my Bangles falling over. :/ I wish that pose was either made better or those ponies put into different unicorn poses.

Aww, I like the Moondancer pose. I think its chubbiness is quite cute!
I'm the first to admit though that it's not very feminine or flattering.

I was thinking about Truly. The pose irks me because you need a stand other wise I like it. But, I was thinking she would have been adorable in the Bow Tie pose.

If I could choose any pose, I'd probably go for the first Unicorn pose, the one Rarity was in. I think Waterfire came out before that pose was part of the lineup? But the idea of a G3 unicorn with such bold, matte colors who is in control of the elements is such a cool concept.
I approve of this. Waterfire would look great as a unicorn! I also think she would look great as a G1 actually... I'd put her in the Posey pose.
I also want to mention that I think it's kind of strange that the Rockin' Beats set has a unicorn but no pegasus. I'd be happy to see Pretty Beat redone in the Heartthrob, Locket, or Bouncy pose. :lovey:

I hate Euro Confetti's pose. I truly do - it looks awful to me, it's hard to make ponies in that pose display nicely, it looks unnatural to me no matter how I look at it and as much as I adore Confetti, she is the only pony in that pose which is allowed in my collection. She would look so much better in the Crumpet pose, it drives me insane :(
But as I said, I love Confetti. I have 4 or 5 girls in that pose and love each one to no end...

I enjoy most of G2 poses apart from aforementioned magic motion heads, but I'd like to see Tipsy Tulip in a different pose

Quackers. My lovely, lovely, Quackers. Not so much the pose I hate, but just how unstable it can be!
