Title: Well, that's weird (Ebay...)
Post by: ponycake on January 30, 2014, 09:31:28 AM
Got 3 packages today, two were expected and familiar.. the third, not so much.

It's a TE Masquerade. I already have Masquerade loose and MOC, and I surely didn't order another I didn't think (I might have thought I'd just forgotten but I don't really buy duplicates), I figured right away it must have come by mistake instead of something else I bought. I went online to check. No masquerade on my bought page. None of the items I'm expecting came from this state or were recorded as being delivered today.

So I hit ctrl+f and start typing in the whole tracking number and got a hit. It matched up with the tracking number of a lot I already received weeks ago.  Clicking on it I saw the tracking for both the lot back then and this now. Oops. So I guessed this seller somehow got my address to send this new package to instead of the address of whoever actually bought it.

But then it's even weirder because going to their sold page I see no Masquerade anywhere.
What the heck is going on?

I'd send them an email-  I'm sure someone is getting frantic right now looking for their pony

It sounds like the seller most likely made a mistake when she was printing postage. I would do as Galactica suggested and shoot her a quick email.

I agree with Galactica :)

I did shoot a message over immediately under the lot I did buy (just chose 'other' for the topic) so she could see the tracking on that item lists both.

Guess I'm babysitting her til she gets to her real new home? Here she is with my new shirt that I *did* buy.

Hopefully she gets back to me soon so I can send her off again.

Maybe the seller just found her and decided that since you bought that lot from her, you wouldn't mind having an extra. Never know...

Could be, I wondered that too when I didn't see any Masquerades sold. It seems like she only sells lots also. If that's the case I'll probably just send her to a friend. :)

Oh, she's a pretty one! Mystery ponies are always kind of fun...I actually got 10 a few weeks ago from a lady I'd bought a lot from over 2 months ago! She said she'd found this bunch and thought I might like them :)
I'd be inclined to think it was a mistake for your Masquerade, though. So nice to know there are still such awesome and honest people as yourself, Ponycake :)

Awww, how awesome! Who'd you get? Surprise gift pony mail is the best. :) And I would never want anyone to be put out for a simple mistake they made. ^.^

They were just some regulars...nothing spectacular, but it was such a nice thing for her to do. I sent her the cost of shipping and thanked her very much for thinking of me :) seemed only fair to return kindness with kindness!
I could certainly think of worse ponies to pop up on your doorstep! Did it come in a little basket with a note attched? "Dear kind stranger, I can no longer take care of baby Masquerade..."

Nope, nada! Just the pony in a bag. Haven't heard anything yet.

strange.. but maybe since she wasnt listed  on ebay, the seller really did just decide to send you a random act of pony kindness?  its very nice of you to contact them first though just to make sure :)

She didn't know Masquerade's name and just thought she forgot to send it with my lot. ^.^

It was really honest of her (even though it was a mistake)! Especially since I had already left positive feedback.

She is novemberay on Ebay. She's not currently selling any ponies it looks like. Apparently she has a few neutrals and 1 negative feedback over the last year. They sound like all dumb reasons to leave bad FB though and they could have all been solved by contact.  One person said took 3 days to ship. WOW, 3 days? The horror.  -_-
