I really love that I used the last for months of 2013 to start up my collection of MLP! I managed to get a little herd together, that I'm really pleased with.
But I do have some goals for the coming year, and the biggest one of that is that I want to give the customizing a go. I want to start with rehairing, and was thinking about buying some hair the coming weeks..
Also I want to expand my blog and facebookpage and make it more lively, at the moment I'm quite behind on both.. :blush:
And when it comes down to buying ponies I want to own either my first boy or MOC pony :D.
Quite a few goals, but 12 months is a long time lol..
What are your pony goals for 2014?
And ofcourse, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!!

I want to own comic no. 223 and get a Clover, Patch, or Bright eyes! A G2 would also be a likely goal for me.

I want to complete my brush and grows (I haven't got my first three yet but they're paid for and just waiting for delivery).
Also I want to start and complete the Princess Brush n Grows hehehe
And finish off the rehairing and tender loving caring of my mass of tlc/baity CP ponies.

G3's again I'd just like to carry on, maybe getting more MIB's and Winter/seasonal themed ponies
G4's, need EQG Sunset Shimmer, Luna and Boutique Pinkie, plus any other they release. Also need Glimmerwing RD, Diamond Rose and Sweetsong. I'd also like the newer releases of 5" Funrise plushies. Need the new fillies too :D
Overall, for 2014 I'd like to hit the 500 pony mark!

This is a goal that I LOVE, SHS's are I think my most favorite MLP's, that and the beautiful gradient hair ponies :).. hope to see pictures if you do complete them! :D

That is quite the mark you plan on hitting! So great to see collectors with such big collections, what is your favorite part of collecting?

Well the one goal I can think of is to get rid of all of these doubles and baits!! I've just started inventory on them, just got to get photos and get them gone, there's dozens upon dozens, lol... and then I'll have room for more new ponies...

Nice to meet another WW and Fizzy fan. I got both So Soft and UK Wind Whistler at the fair last year with Fizzy, glitter symbol Gusty, and Paradise. I hope to have a decent job to go to the next one.

I would like to finish my Big Brothers collection, just two to go-4speed and Quarteback also Brigth Eyes to have whole lot of 7 pony friends :) and find my childhood fakie :( the last one will be difficult to achieve but there is a hope I already own her sisters :)

Hmm! I guess I don't have a concrete collecting goal for the new year yet. This year I finished a lot of sets, most importantly the Sweetberry, Sundae Best and Candy Cane ponies and the first set of princesses.
I'd like to collect the last set of scented ponies, the perfume puffs, and work on my Posey army. So I'd like to at least get NSS Posey and the Spanish version. I've already got the regular (2 of them actually), SS, Mexican, Italian and Argie Baby, and anything other than these will probably cost a LOT.
I'd also like to finish year 3. At the moment I've just got to get Sea Star, Backstroke, Starflower, Trickles and... the doozy, all of the second set of adult sea ponies apart from Sea Breeze (thanks again, Spottedslug!). But given the prices involved, I don't think that will happen. >.<

I am not really looking for much more - this year was an amazing one for finding something I never thought I would track down. A German Moondancer would be the last pony I am on the look out for and the UK version of Rosette but other than that sorting all the accessories and maybe, just maybe, finishing a website which has been 5+ years in the making :P

They to tend to take up a lot of roam :p. I just got a shelf to store my little collection on, and it's becoming more and more full very rapidly :p

They sound lovely! At the moment I only have an Italien Gusty, but I hope to get more of those core ponies in the future :)

Lol :p I would love to see it if you finish it one day! I'm guessing finding a German Moondancer is not that easy? Is she different from the normal moondancer? Now I'm curious lol :p

Amazingly I opened Princess Skylark this morning so I've already started my princess brush and grows before 2014 starts.
I got my penpal one in her swapbox and i showed my other half the pony and what it does, he thought I'd pulled the head off lol

:O Lucky. Even if I could afford it, my major problem is I don't have room for a playset so huge. I'd love to have Paradise Estate though. Good luck!

Since you mentioned animation cels, I have to admit I would like to get my hands one some of the scripts for the original cartoon with The Magic Coins, Crunch the Rockdog, and Mish Mash Melee being my grails.

My goals are simple.
Complete one set; this may even be a task as I'm getting down to the point of harder to find ponies (and I don't buy off of ebay).
Add a few more ponies to the baby stockings army.

I am already at 418 now I have opened my Christmas presents :) I have only been collecting for a couple of years now, but I think I have all or most of the easier to find ponies, so 2014 will be mostly about finding the slightly less harder to find/more expensive ponies.
I have to say the best part of collecting is knowing you've snagged your pony. Obviously its great when they arrive, but the feeling you get when you pay for it and know you have it on the way is wonderful. Its even better when its a set completer ^.^

I've only got a handful of ponies left on my wishlist, so it'd be nice to be able to finish it off next year, but some specific goals would be to find:
-UK Sweet Clover MIB
-G2 Silver Swirl MOC
-Chiefs accessories
-Bonnies autograph

Find myself a proper display cabinet and some nice clear raisers. No point in having ponies if I can't show them off in their full glory!

Get Scribbles and Dabbles.
Get Piggy Spanish Minty ( yeah right :P )
Rosette (loose)
Both Great Hair ponies
I want all playset instructions but I have a feeling that is a bit unrealistic so I would like the instructions for baby princess sparkles buggy at least :)
I want ALL Rosettes accessories loose. ( I already have her MIB)
I want to complete my uk and us party packs.
And finally I want to get ALL prom queen sweetheart ponies with their accessories.

2014 goals...
1. Complete my Tropical pony families - I need 3 boys for my girls, one orange pegasus baby and Sundazzle sister Sunglory, maybe decide if I want the Seaside babies as well
2. Get G4 Pinkie Pie :blush:
3. Get at least one Confetti Nirvana variant for my army
4. Finish my alternate rehairs, G2 and Confetti customs
5. Get Ice Crystal
6. Try not to get broke despite all this.

I think my absolute 100% biggest goal in 2014 is to go to the Fair or a meet up. I always think I'm going to go, but something comes up. Last year I wanted to go to the meet up in Ohio but I couldn't because of things being crazy at work and then I didn't go the fair because it was not too long after my mom died and I didn't feel up to doing anything. I really am really going to try to get to the fair this year! I would so love to meet some of you in person finally :shake:
In terms of collecting goals they are:
- Complete collection of tea themed ponies... Rainbow Bubbles I'm coming for you!
- Paint and redecorate pony room
- Complete My Little Pony Tales Set
- Get BABW Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy and any others released in 2014
- Start collecting more Birthday Ponies - G1 and G3
- Try and get a fully pose-able Equestria Girl Doll of all main characters + Trixie. Initially, I didn't like these, but seeing them in person they have grown on me.
That's a lot of goals and I don't have to complete them all. They're just what I have in mind in terms of buying this year. The main thing I would really like to do is go to a meet and/or the fair. I have like four weeks of vacation accrued. You'd think I'd be able to take a few days off LOL

I received today 3 of my HTF G2 :) Still need Rocky , Bride and Diamond Glow
and a Trade with a G4 Double pack Daisy Dreams with bangs/ Fluttershy, wich I had half of it already but it was a Daisy Dreams with no bangs , and I have Rainbow Flash half of her double pack , I would like to have the other double pack but there is not a special pony in it or any major variation on the double pack with Dewdrop Dazzle/Pinkie Pie but it would still be cool to have it anyway :) but won't go crazy if I don't ever get it :)

Well, I still need to get SS Crumpet, thanks to the last one did not work out. She will complete my US parents and babies set, which I started on around 15 years ago 0.o
My big goal for the year is to get my G1 collection, which has been shamefully in storage since I moved out of my mom's house 10 years ago, into a proper display. I've come to the conclusion that there's no point in collecting unless I actually have them somewhere where they can be enjoyed. I'm going to move the general storage in our basement into the super small 'pony room' where the boxes of ponies and playsets are, and put up some book cases in the main basement with a proper display. The small room was supposed to be the pony room, but my husband had the idea to switch them, since the main storage in utilitarian and ugly. He's come a LONG way from the "oh my god, are you going to sell those or what?!" when we were first together =)

So many goals... I guess the biggest one is organizing my ponies to see who all I really have, especially my G3's... and open the rest of them out of their box prisons. Get myself to get rid of doubles of ponies and accessories. Try and get more G2's off of my list of wanting.
Oh! and cleaning up my ponies since I haven't done that in years... All while trying to find more animation/g1 merch things that call to me...

My main goal is to start customizing ponies. I've *started* a few G4 blindbags, but I also want to get into rehairing... and actually FINISH a project!
Also maybe do some swaps on here... I love the idea! It looks like so much fun!
Aside from that, I don't have any goals for specific ponies or anything. Getting a few goobers on my wish list would be nice, but my main goal involves creativity and sharing and whatnot. <3

I want to focus on collecting Nirvanas.
I only have a few G1 US ponies to collect that I actually want. I'm not a 'catch them all,' collector. Mainly, I would like a very nice Quackers, and I may look to replace my BB Baskets who is currently in pieces. ( I've spoke more than a few times about this ponies, but she was the last pony I bought in the US before I took a huge break from collecting because she was SUCH a let down. Unfortunately I was not in the country at the time, and I had more than a little ramport with the seller and thought I could trust her. Paid $80 on what was supposed to be a mint and pristine pony and got a bait pony instead. MAJOR tail rust, missing hair plugs, frizzy hair, stains and the such . . . ) Maybe a nice Sugar Apple with really nice hair, but other than that. . .
Euro / UK exclusives and then Nirvanas. Not too much for the former. I'd like Sweet Clover, UK Clover, Love Token, etc, etc.
As far as Nirvanas, I'd really like a Greek Non-CP pony. Starshine or Skydancer in particular. Lots more Mexi's. ( My second Mexi will be on the way tomorrow, YAY! And my first Spanish pony is on the way, along with 3 Italians. ) I'd like to least get one Argie, one Vennie, etc, and start collecting one from each country sort of thing. Oh, a Brillito would be a grail. In particular, I'd love to get one Surprise-pose Nirvana, like Spanish Dancing Butterflies, or the yellow Hearthrob, and Surprise-Wind Whistler for sure. Posey-pose Sugarberry would be amazing as well. I definitely do not need to buy ALL of those ponies in this year, but I'd be more than happy to manage 2 or 3 of them.

I would love to set up somewhere nice to display my collection but since I'm not sure that will happen I'd love to at least find a nice place to display my customs. I wanna work on a custom for my sister but I'm torn on what. :P
I would love to do some higher quality nicer customs though I usually get too impatient XD.
As for what I want for my collection:
More Mintys xD I don't even care if they are doubles at this point. XD
Any Snuzzles that may or may not have been made besides the two I own, the original G1 Snuzzle that I got when I was a little girl and the remake they made when G3s were the big thing still. I'd love to get my hands on a mint or near mint Snuzzle and/or Minty.
I want G3 babies both to collect and to customize, they are so hard to find around here. :( And I would love to get more G1 babies either as collectables or custom bait.
And I'd love if I could find more of the fakies that used the G1 newborn mold. Have one of those in the process of becoming Baby Minty.
And I definitely want money that I can spend on this obsession.
Oh and a custom that wasn't made by either me or my sister. XD

my 2014 mlp goal is to sell all my extra ponies, sell off all my unused/unassigned baits and finish all my customs that i started last year or planned to start. woot!!

Buy one G1, heck even a G3 would be nice at a thrift store. It's a small goal but it works for me. Because all of my ponies either come new from Wally World (G4) or Etsy (G1).
Haven't found a G1 pony while thrifting since 2003.

I'd like to finish inventory on my childhood herd/collection so I can make sure I'm able to distinguish between original ponies and my collecting restart of this year in my notebooks! :lol:
I'd also like to try and get a hold of the last couple dozen G3s I still want so I can wrap up my G3 collection, and the handful of G2s and G4s on my wishlist and move on to working on G1s - my goals for G1 being completing my glitter body and glow n' show sets, finally purchasing Barnacle (he's been a grail of sorts for 8 years!!), completing my party pack set, and tracking down a newborn Tappy after she appeared in my collection in a dream I had. :P

I'd love to buy my grail, a greek baby minty! My second goal this spring is to get my collection properly displayed. I've been putting it off far to long now.

My Goal? Probably the usual 'Own a Piggy Pony' though I have technically DONE that as I bought Piggy Cotton Candy, but that was a gift for a friend and so I only 'owned' Candy for a few weeks. :)
And then there's the inevitable 'complete the G3 jewel cutie mark ponies' and 'Complete the birthflower g3s' which have been ongoing since those lines came out. Aaaugh!

Get some g1 ponies. I only have four at the moment.
And find those childhood G3's. They have to be somewhere. I may spend hours digging through cobwebby boxes in the basement to find them. I can't buy the ones I remember having, knowing I could have them all a few feet beneath me. The only one I bought was Star Catcher, because I managed to rip the fabric off her wings when I was little.

Well, I'm not going to have much spending money this year, as I am moving to go to university, but I would love to at least get Fizzy and Wind Whistler this year. Maybe a couple of other G1's as well if I can.

My collecting goals are to complete my MGR ponies (1 left!) and continue with my celestial ponies. I've recently added the Sunshine ponies to my collecting goals as well :cool:
My other goal is to streamline how quickly I sell the other ponies I buy, so I don't have quite so many waiting to go on my sale/trade list. I currently have far more waiting to sell that are personally mine, as a result of my 'buy and clean up and sell' habit :blush:

I completed my original goal of owning all the G3 styling ponies last week so this year I'd like to save up and hopefully get hold of the G3 giant mail order Frilly Frocks. She is my absolutely grail. My OTP (one true pony). Anybody know a UK seller who has one?
I also have a few smaller goal's I'd like to achieve, I really want to get the complete set of the 25th anniversary ponies (the plush, the core 7 and the re releases). I'd also like to get some more G2's and G3.5's, all 4 glittery Sweetheart Sister ponies and some Big Brother ponies.
Custom wise I'd like to make the Fellowship on the Ring out of G1's but that's pretty unlikely to happen for a while. I might be commissioning a good friend of mine to make me a custom plush but I haven't decided yet.
I'm hopefully also going to be getting a My Little Pony tattoo, but I still dont know exactly what I want to get so I suppose that isn't really a goal, more of a possibility.

I would love to see this happen, particularly since you could use different styles of ponies form each race, like Aragorn and Boromir could be Big Brothers, Gandalf could be a Pony Bride, Legolas could be a SHS (or gandalf could be regular and Legolas the Bride), the hobbits could be baby boys (with furry feet!) and Gimli could be a wingless winger. Sorry for projecting on this, but I think it's a great idea :biggrin:
For my goals in 2014, I'm trying to complete some of the missing pieces from my childhood playsets and I'd like to finish my first custom and custom playset that I'm working on.

My new goal this year is to locate the G3 Breast Cancer awareness pony. I'd never heard of her until a few minutes ago and I'm having trouble finding out information on this beauty. (price, rarity, etc)

I'd love to use big brothers but I kind of feel they would be too expensive to custom. I'm panning on using a Unicorn for Gandalf (because of the magic powers), a Pegasus for Legolas (because they are fancier than earth ponies) and Earth Ponies for Aragorn and Boromir. I was originally planning on using a baby pony for Gimli and newborn ponies for the Hobbits but I love your idea of using a wingless winger! Thanks for your suggestions ^^

I guess my primary goal is to pick up a few ponies on my want list (namely Baby Applejack and at least one or two of the Mountain Boys that I still need), but only if I can get them for good prices and/or in really great condition.
I have been curious about taking part in a swap, but I'm only a G1 collector and there aren't very many ponies that I'm looking for right now. (Also, I'm really shy about stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things!) Participating in my first swap is a potential 2014 MLP goal for me. :)

my 5 goals for 2014 to finish by the end of the year are:
1. Get my long-time Grail, Fashion Style Applejack
2. Obtain all G4 baby ponies released so far (5/8 obtained thus far. Need Star Dreams, Twist-a-Loo, and Silver Spoon)
3. Obtain all Favourites Collection exclusive ponies released so far (5/8 obtained thus far. Need Nightmare Moon, :muffin:, Queen Crysalis)
4. Complete a sale or trade with someone not in North America.
5. Get a 20" Funrise Fluttershy plush (Fluttershy Army Grail)

this year I hopefully will:
1. manage to finish some of the sets that I already have.
2. have a custom made of my sig ponies
3. have a cull of ponies in my collection that I don't really need in there (moving this year so need a sort out)
4. make an inventory of the ponies I have
5. recollect the few I am missing from my childhood herd
I have just bought the set completers for sipin soda ponies and the sunday best ponies just waiting on their arrival. so excited.
then just the rest to go..... might have to carry this over in to next year as well.....

Hmmm. I am hoping to:
1. Get the time to wash and style all of my current ponies.
2. Get tons of more pony wear to dress my ponies with.
3. Expand my Sparkler/Glory/G3 Rarity/G4 Rarity army!!
