Title: Xmas presents for pets! Do you guys buy them?
Post by: moonlight twinkle on December 16, 2013, 06:28:10 AM
Do you guys get xmas presents for your pets? I got my dog, a german shepherd dog named princess leia (why yes, I am a star wars fan, also, she even has a pink princess leia collar from petsmart's star wars collection) I got my dog two squeaky toys, an ice cream cone, and frog. Last year I got her a tug a war rope, and I believe the year before, I got her dog treats. What do you guys get for your pets?

We get our pets stuff. It depends on the pet what they get.

We always get our pets a 'pet stocking' each.
Unfortunately, this year Xemnas seems more interested in Minion Dave under the tree - He's ripped his wrapping paper off twice, but always seems uninterested in his own stocking! :P

My dogs each have their own stocking. They're getting treats, rawhides, and new squeaky toys this year! (A duck, dragon, and gingerbread man)

I buy my animals presents all year long, lol but for Christmas usually a bunch of cookies. They don't really need more collars, leashes, food bowls, and definitely I don't need more pet clothing, lol (but I love it... just don't need to spend money on it)

One year, my dog, Leia, wasn't interested in her presents, and was interested in mine, and grabbed some, and opened them herself!

Yeah I usually buy something for my cat for his birthday and Christmas.  My Mom says he won't know the difference, whether he gets one or not but I feel like he would.  I've had him for 9 years and he's like my son and you wouldn't deny your child a birthday and christmas gift. ;)

We also have a dog this year for christmas and I got him something.  I wrap pet gifts and put them under the tree like everyone else's.

we usually get dog treats and at least 2 squeaker toys.
the older dog doesn't get as excited anymore, and the treats have to be given out after all the early morning Christmas chaos is done... or they add to it XD

there's this fun specialty dog treat store at the mall of america, that i get special treats for them every year.
just one or two things each, so they still have dinner, but it's fun to spend a little extra. if the older dog isn't around the younger one eats slowly and savors it. it's totally hilarious.

Sarge the greyhound is getting a large 3' rawhide bone. He already tried to drag it out from under the tree and decided to start licking off the plastic wrap... Sneaky.

Stella (my cat) typically gets something in the way of a present, normally cat treats so we don't end up getting cluttered. However, this year she is getting a new mouse toy. She has a Pirate Mouse, complete with little pirate hat and eye patch that she adores. She doesn't play with anything else any more. However, Pirate Mouse is missing an ear, the tail finally went a few days ago, and the hat has been nearly torn off and Stella now just lays an stares at it as though she has killed her greatest rival. So it is time for a new one. She may also be getting a cat tree for Christmas, as she has been an extra good cat this year lol.

Yup! Each dog has a stocking and gets toys and treats. We go a little nuts. Right now they each (4 dogs) have three toys. I haven't bought their treats yet though. And we usually wrap at least one thing because they do like to rip stuff open xD. Which is also why the presents are kept in a table and not under the tree haha.

Yup, I always buy something for my doggies! They love unwrapping squeaky toys and treats. :)
But Sabah will be getting a racing muzzle this year because yesterday she bit Biffy again while chasing, causing her to need 6 stitches.  :yikes:

This year my 2 cats got a new cat tower. Only one of them is really interested in it, though. They got it early but the other pets have to wait for the 21st for their gifts!
My 2 dogs will be getting fancy new collars and some chew toys.
My 2 horses get a stocking full of apples & carrots apiece, plus I'm getting some new grooming tools for them.

Of course! My dog loves to unwrap presents even when they aren't his ^.^ He's finally outgrown eating soft toys so this year I can buy him stuffed animals and whatnot. He has a cow that moos that he loves, so I'm thinking of getting him something similar. Maybe a pig or a horse

The cats always get toys and treats and we have a separate celebration with just myself and them, things are too noisy for them to come out when others are around.

I'll get something for my hamster too :)

I have waaaay too many pets to buy presents for them all (and it wouldn't be fair to play favorites! :P ) Although I usually get a few new cat collars in my stocking each year. And I am putting out a stocking for my little pony...but that doesn't really count. He's probably only getting carrots and maybe peppermints in it :P

I used to but now they have so much toys and stuff that we give them specially nice food instead. Same on their birthdays.

The dogs always get something ever year, usually treats.  However, this year one of the dogs passed away, and I'm skipping out on the other dog.  He's been rather naughty.

I will, however, give my bird something.  Probably a toy.

Yep, we always get one or two things for my dog to keep him occupied during our christmas celebrations. He loves unwrapping too. The rabbit gets treats usually, though this year he should be dieting so I don't know if he's getting anything.

Yep! They each have their own stockings and they currently all have treats in them :D Sometimes they'll get toys and clothes, but haven't seen anything I like this year to get them. And they already have a ton of toys :P

I use to. I would like to get them a present. But I think I will make them a little wrapping paper pouch of treats with a bow. So they can tear it open and play with the wrapping paper and bow. Kitties like to pull the bows off presents anyway, lol.

I always buy presents for my dogs. Tori has her own stocking and Candy will be getting hers as soon as my grandma can embroider her name on it. We just got Candy on Monday so that's why she doesn't have hers yet. They both have presents under the tree. We had to catch Candy up since we got a late start. :)

We do! Although now that I work at a dog boutique/groomer/daycare my mom is kinda obligated to shop there. The gifts are a good way to get the dogs out of ours for a while. Our mini dachshund gets overly excited by opening presents and will start getting in the way and nipping. Toss her a new toy and she'll be out of our hair for a while.

If I ever end up getting my hissing cockroaches/giant cave roaches I'll probably just give them a nice treat like persimmon slices. Roaches don't demand much during Christmas.

I buy presents for all our little zoo which consists of two budgies, a cockatiel and two rats. They all have at least two presents wrapped up under the tree. Yes that is how bad I am I wrap them up. And even write on the labels to say who its to and from.

And I write them Christmas cards out and put them next to their cages. It's funny with the birds it's first Christmas for all three to experience my Christmas insanity. Ha.

Yep my cats are spoilt. My man got one of his gifts last night though cause the poor little guyhad to go in for an ooperation today (came out just fine thankfully). He got a rainbow unicorn stuffed toy last night cause he loves plushies.

Generally new collars, food, dishes, cat toys are what mine get. The boy gets more than the two girls because he has more interest in things like toys and scratching posts, both the gurls just eat and sleep.

Yep, I always buy for my kitty :)  usually a Whiskas stocking, however, this year she has destroyed her scratcher post so she's getting a new one - took me ages to find one long enough for her to really s-t-r-e-t-c-h out on :D

I also buy presents for friend's and family pets too :D, and I get a card to and from my cat

My dog now has a fairly strict diet so he doesn't get treats and he destroys most new toys within 5 minutes (even the indestructible ones). Last year I got him a packet of travel poop bags, he had a grand old time ripping the wrapping off.

This year I got his teeth professionally cleaned at the vets, cost a couple hundred so it's also his 5th birthday present
I don't think he much appreciated it so I might let him help me open my gifts tonight, he enjoys tearing things up more than anything!  :P

we dont usually here, we have two cats at the moment. they're old xD and the one who plays is usually happy enough to fling around some wrapping paper balls. the other one is afraid of the sound of paper ripping lol. they get treats all the time so there really isnt much for us to get them for Christmas, and we usually dont have money to spare anyway.

What kind of dog do you have?

Miniature Fox Terrier.
Moose isn't even 5kg but is a vicious little killing machine (yes that is a gecko tail sticking out of his mouth) -_-
If he can't destroy a toy, then no dog can! (But I've never found a toy he can't destroy )
