Title: Those classy unicorn G1 poses!

I've seen many comments of the years about how the Sunbeam pose being clunky and unpleasant. However, I love it. Maybe because I love Sunbeam? But she looks motherly to me, and patient. I don't know how you can look at the pose and think "patient" - but that's the feeling I get from it.

I also love the Glory pose and the Gusty pose. Actually, I like them all although it's too bad the Streaky pose is trippy. Poor ponies just lurch around and look unbalanced.

When I look at unicorns in the Mimic pose (my favourite pose), I think they look proud and strong. Gusty would have to be my second favourite pose, when I look at it I just think Regal and Majestic.

I love Glory, but I dislike her pose, I think her lifted leg looks awkward, something about that pose just irks me lol.

I absolutely love Mimic's pose, and it makes me sad that there are so few ponies in that pose. I don't actually like any of the ponies in that pose except Mimic (Milky Way is okay, but she's far from a favourite), so I've never owned a pony in that pose.

Second favourite would be Gusty's pose.

I think the Mimic pose and the Powder pose have the most personality. I voted Gusty as my third because I think it's really elegant, though I do adore Moondancer and her pose as well. I see too much hate for it, but it's so chubby and cute!

I love the Glory pose, I think of it as the quintessential unicorn pose. But I love them all really! Unicorns!  :lovey:

I really like the Mimic pose. I would have to say Powder pose is #2 for me. Who doesn't love a unicorn?

My favourites are Buttons and Gusty (in no particular order). Moondancer and Glory are some of the least appealing G1 poses overall.

I think I'm going to have to go with Glory, Gusty and Mimic poses. I don't like the Powder pose.

Mimic! Every pony in that pose looks so happy! Then, Gusty and Buttons, I think. So hard to decide. I really like Powder's pose, too.

There is just something so charming about the moon dancer pose!
I can see why people don't like powders pose, but it's cute atheistic hasn't worn off on me yet, it just looks very innocent like she's in some kind of wonderment.

My favorite G1 unicorn pose is Glory's pose by far.  I can't believe she is (currently) in second to last?!?!  What?!?!  It's such a "leader" type of pose.  I love it!

I love Mimic, Buttons, Gusty, Powder pose- in that order-  I never did like Glory's pose, alas.


This topic makes me more than a little sad about the current state of affairs for G4...

I love love love the Mimic pose! It is so dramatic and regal.  I guess I'm biased, though, because Milky Way is my favorite G1.

Glory and buttons get my vote.  For some reason I've always thought Moondancer's pose made her look chubby :lookround:

The Mimic pose is my very favorite pony pose ^.^ I happily own all of the ponies in this pose but I wish there were more! My second favorite is the Glory pose and my third favorite is the Gusty pose :D

One of my favorite ponies is Sugar Sweet but I have to say that her pose isn't exactly appealing :lol:

I like Moondancer, Gusty, and Glory, but I have to say Mimic's pose is pretty stiff competition--practically tied for 3rd place, honestly.

Makes me kind of sad that in this ONE category of G1's, the beautiful Unicorn, there are already more poses than G4. The standards of toy quality have slipped tremendously. I guess that is why G1 will always be hard to out due!

I like the buttons pose, too...there's something so determined about it...like they're fighting through a snow storm...
Mimic's is ok...very happy and jojial, but unfortunately, Moondancer's pose is annoying to me. I like how cute and chubby she is, but the legs are just placed and styled wrong, and it's unfortunate, because i think she's a cutie!

It's unfortunate, but I kinda agree. The pose looks a bit... chunky. It doesn't mean I like the ponies in that ponies any less, though. Lookin' at you, Sugar Sweet. <3

It was hard for me to pick, as I love all the unicorn poses, but in the end I had to go with Gusty's, Powder's, and Moondancer's as my favorites. :happy:

By far, the Buttons pose is my favorite unicorn pose. It is also my favorite G1 pose. I own almost every pony that features it, and they compose the largest percentage of adult G1 ponies that made it onto my display shelves.

The Glory pose is my second favorite uni pose. None of the other ones really appeal to me.

Gusty is my favorite unicorn pose, followed by Buttons, followed by Powder.  Even when I was a kid, I didn't like the Moondancer and Glory poses.  The ponies just look kind of...bloated to me. :/

The Buttons and Gusty poses are my favorites!  I love the shyness of the Gusty pose, and just the all-around style of the Buttons pose.  It looks cute no matter which way you display it!

I only chose 2, moondancer after Gusty
Got to go with the gusty 1 st for its gypsy pose and reminds of how horses prance on competitions, graceful

I love the powder pose because, to me, it's like Bubbles. Unique, caught in the moment instead of just another leg position. Like star gazing, or snow flake gazing! It's perfectly fitting, just like it is for Star Hopper. Mimics pose looks silly and unbalanced to me. Gusty is precious. The others are so charming in their own ways.

I love Buttons, Mimic and Powder the most. Action packed poses are always my favourite. Mimic and Powder look like they're celebrating their magic, especially Mimic, tossing her head and rearing up proudly. And Buttons looks like it's about to go on a joyful, stomping trot. Especially Speedy! Look out world, here she comes! Vroom vroom! :lol:

Gusty is really endearing and sweet looking, but I have the same problem with her as I do Dancing Butterflies. They're beautiful, but the twisting of their neck and back just looks like it would be uncomfortable. Glory and Moondancer are sweet too but have a little bit too much pudge around the tummy/between the legs, especially Glory's NDS, it makes them look elephantine. Elephants are gorgeous creatures, but in a contest of ponies, they don't come first I'm afraid.

I like Gusty because it is a simple pose...the rest are either weird looking or too dramatic...
