Title: Introductory Wave
Post by: Dorothy Rose on November 08, 2013, 01:50:02 PM
Hallo, all.

Having been born in the 80's, it was impossible for me to be unaware of My Little Ponies.  Though I always loved them and forever wanted one, I never had them as a child.  I always remembered the G1 ponies, though, so in my college years, when G3 was in the stores, the similarities suited my nostalgia.  My first three ponies were Coconut Cream (LOVE her chartreuse hair!), Dibble Dabble (super long hair, a gemstone, and artsy cutey-mark!), and Bunches-o-Fun (hellooooo sparkles!).  For a long time, I was content with just those three, especially since they had to remain packed away and out of sight.

Recently, I ran across Wondermint in a second-hand toy store.  She's a pretty little thing, so I had to have her!  Later, the shop owner acquired a partial set from the 25th Birthday Inspirational ponies.  It was love at first sight and I absolutely had to have the entire set!  Sweetie Belle instantly became my favourite pony.

All this time, I'd been loving ponies simply because they're pretty and I enjoy playing with their hair.  However, I recently started watching Friendship is Magic, and I'm surprised at how enjoyable a kid's show about pastel ponies can be for someone my age.  It's rather addictive and I see myself portrayed in Twilight Sparkle quite often.  Some of my other friends have characteristics markedly similar to Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Fluttershy.  We're all ponies.  XD

EDIT:
Since I'll likely be mostly a buyer here and I, obviously, have no reputation here yet, this is my ebay history:

Thank you, guys!

I suppose it is accurate to say that I've rediscovered ponies.  I hadn't thought of it quite like that until now.  But it's certainly true that 6 months ago my knowledge of MLPs was still about where it was in the 80s.

These past few days I've been researching all the ponies through the years and watching my wantlist explode beyond what I thought possible.  I love sparkles, tinsel, multiple colours in the hair, gems, and markings that travel beyond the typical cuteymark.  And Dream Beauties.  *_________*<3

I'm also a Whovian, so I was quite delighted to find that Dr. Whooves came in a crystal variety.  Oh, the love!!!  He stands on the shelf guarding my newly acquired crystal Wisteria. <3<3

:newpony: and Welcome to the Arena.  Well if you love Gems and such then you shall need the G3 Birthstone set and of course the G1 Twinkle Eyes.  So much sparkle, so little money.

Oh goodness, yes!  I've been here, what?  Less than a week?  And I can already tell that I'm going to have a serious love-hate relationship with the sale/auction section of the forum.  Lol.  Such seems to be the fate of all of my favourite places to shop!
