Title: Pictures of cancer spots in various stages
Post by: TinyShinyUnique on October 18, 2013, 09:58:27 PM
I'm trying to determine if some of the G1's I have in my hands are going to suffer from cancer spots :( I know how the fully developed ones look - my Baby North Star suffers from both cancer and regrind, but the pony I'm most concerned about is Mimic.

Can you guys help me out with sharing some pictures of cancer spots? Ideally, I would especially ask for how they look on green and blue ponies  but I'll be happy with any pictures at all, especially in the early stages when the spots aren't brown yet. Should they be orange or red perhaps...? I'd be very grateful for any help.

I have couple ponies with regrind and cancer. And I have to say, I haven't done anything to these ponies, no boiling or anything else. They just live on my book shelves.

My german Moonstone has couple small spots. That small brown dot is middle of white spot. She also has white spots without the dot middle of them.

Baby Sweet Stuff, well has it quite bad. She was like that when I got her.

Locket couple of brown spots. The center is darker brown than the area around it.

My second FT baby Lickety Split. I thought she would be upgrade to my childhood pony who has regrind but nope. She has brown spots and regrind.

They can look like anything from the central brown dots with a discoloured surrounding area right through to a shading in the plastic. The latter I always think almost looks like a bruise under the plastic. Hopefully people have more pictures to share.

Thank you both!

I've tried to take some pictures of various marks I found on my ponies but imageshack wasn't working for me yesterday  Going with divalei pics, I think all of these are cancer marks, right?

And here are the nearly invisible reddish dots on Mimic that I have the most problems with:

They are really hard to take pictures of :/

Yes the top ones all look like age/cancer marks. The pink on Mimic I have seen before and she does seem a little prone to it; its a plastic break down. Age marks/cancer are plastic breaking down as well so its a similar idea yes.
