Hi guys... I thought I'd share this. I have a birthday cake I'm doing next weekend for my niece. These are the ponies I made for it. I'm thinking it will be 2 tiers but I'll see. This is my first time making a g4 pony. I think they turned out ok. They are made out of sugar paste and completely edible. The standing ponies have toothpick skeletons so I do warn people before they take nibbles. I tried to get a good pic but lighting is crappy in my house. Oh btw the little dragon is for another cake... I just had him sitting on the parchment paper to dry with the ponies.

Finished cake... Well almost. I put her name in the sky... But you get the idea. She loved it!

Awww thx guys. :redface: I'll updated with pics of finished cake. I hope she will like it! naturally I was thrilled to hear she wanted a pony cake. XD

:heart: :blush: :heart: Gotta love that cute little dragon. Fluttershy is appropriately hanging out behind Rainbow Dash. I love Celestia's eyes and all of them look too cute to eat!

Wow, those are amazing! I don't know how easy it is to work with sugar paste, but I imagine it's harder than working with polymer clay, so kudos to you. Very impressive job!

Aww ty for the compliments. :blush: Yes it is like working with warm taffy! Very frustrating at times. I did make her a polymer princess celestia to keep forever so she wont feel bad about eating the others I hope. ^.^We also got her quite a few g4's to play with.
I think sculpey has it's own challenges! Sugar likes to stay smooth at least. I forgot all the sanding sculpey takes. >_<

Wow, those are AMAZING!!! I don't think I'd be able to eat them...I'd be too tempted to stick them up on a shelf with the other ponies. ;D

Aww ty everyone. The cake is this sat. I am making flowers for it today and then baking is tomorrow. I plan to have an apple orchard and barn on bottom, and sunflowers with sky and rainbow on top... and of course celestia on top in the sky. We will see if this works out. Plans sometimes have to be modified. ^-^ I also have to travel 2 hours with it.... So fingers crossed. :biggrin: I'll be sure to share all the pics of it.

Oh, wow! I'd like to get into cake decorating one day. These look great!
Michaels has the beginner cake decorating course for $10. It's a month long and it's how I got started. ^-^
The sugar paste just takes practice. Learning to do my own cakes has saved me a bundle. Not to mention I use natural ingredients and real butter and cream in my frosting so it tastes way better than a grocery store anyway.
