Title: Package not arrived
Post by: CuteyBina3 on September 08, 2013, 11:55:11 PM
So I sold 2 Dutchies to someone on here, whos in Germany. I shipped them without tracing, we agreed, cause that would have been alot more expensive.
I ship this way all the time, and been selling for years now..
Normally it takes about 5 workdays to get there, but now its been over 2 weeks i think, and she PMed me that it hasn't arrived yet.
Anyone had this problem lately too? I wonder what to do now?
I think to wait for a bit more, maybe it will arrive later?

Well I'm not entirely sure about anything shipping between the Netherlands and Germany, but, I expect that with anything, it could always be delayed for some reason... I hear a lot of times that packages get caught up in customs or local posts... did you have a customs form with a high value marked on it? Sometimes customs holds things and the person doesn't get a call or anything, perhaps they can check at their local post office, give them a ring and let them know they are looking for a package? I have done that before at my local post office, on a package that hadn't arrived, and it had fallen behind the counter by accident and they delivered it to me the next day... just a suggestion?

We dont have to fill in customs forms for euro countries.
Dont know if its somewhere in customs?

Sometimes it does take longer to arrive, even though the countries are close and you dont need to deal with customs forms etc . I dont know of any particular reasons why there has been a delay in this case, but I dont think you need to worry just yet  .  Usually I've had parcels get to Germany in around a week but sometimes its been 3 weeks or longer . Give it another week or two, and as Sunshine suggested ask your buyer to check at her local PO since they dont always leave a card if the person is out when they try to deliver *is speaking from experience*  :awake:

oh I have had a bad run with posting and getting parcels from germany in the last few months : /
Firstly a parcel I sent took 5 weeks to get there (I would expect this over christmas time but not when I sent the parcel) normally they take 2-3 weeks
Also out of the last 2 things I have brought from germany one parcel took 4 weeks to get to NZ (it actually took longer to reach me cause the seller wrote the wrong house number on the parcel, I didn't receive it until after 5 weeks)
I am still waiting on the second parcel and its been 6 weeks

I think your ponies will reach your buyer I just think there is big delays to Germany for some reason, here is the last topic about it

Sometimes stuff just takes a while. I've sent several packages to a friend in the Netherlands (from the UK) and usually they take under a week. The last parcel I sent to her took just over a month and then arrived whilst I was mid-trying to file a claim. Totally undamaged (minus the chocolate I had sent being melted >.<). I'm sure it'll show up :)

I hope it does! I know I had a package issue when the "Pickup at Post Office" little card was lost and never delivered... if that's the case, they may end up sending it back to you but, hopefully someone can talk to the post on the other end in Germany and see if it happens to be there. :)

In the last 3 months 2 of my packages have been lost by the postal service. In nearly 2300 packages I have only had 3 get lost.

I saw the description of a seller listing in e-Bay recently saying that they didn't ship to Germany stating that it took too long for the ponies to arrive- don't give up hope!

I have had packages go to Germany that took awhile. Usually, though, US to Europe varies greatly. Italy is a tough country to ship to, because a LOT of things are banned for international shipping to Italy and the postal system seems to be generally slow there. Some of my Italian customers have received OPEN packages, because customs went through the contents. Don't know if Germany is similar?

Chances are it is caught up in customs. I always purchase tracking when possible, just so the customer has the proof that it has indeed been shipped and we both check check on it's whereabouts. However, I am shipping something right now to Canada. Mailed it Sept 19th and still no updates on the USPS tracking system... *bites nails*
