I was just getting ready to post this.  Man, you're fast!  The pony for every season video, is that something new or am I just forgetting the episode?

I think it's the pageant episode, where the ponies put on a play about the founding of Equestria?

Yay!  Not excited about most of the comments on the Facebook post, but excited about both DVDs coming out :)  I think I already have the first release of Minty Christmas though so I won't get the rerelease unless there's extra stuff on it.

I think it's a new DVD. I read somewhere that it has different episodes for the different seasons. Like it has Winter Wrap-up and the Running with the Leaves episodes on it.

Oh, wow!  How cool :D  I love that G3 is still valued enough for a movie to get re-released.  That makes me a happy panda!

We'll be picking up Minty Christmas.  As silly as it is, my husband and I love it for some reason.  Minty and her socks are so adorable.

I'm so excited about this! Now let's get some re-releases of the G1 movies! Well I know they already have them on dvd but they're really hard to find around here.

I'm getting all pumped for Christmas now and it won't be September for two more days XD

I like the branding of "classic pony videos." I'm excited for this one, I want to get it and watch it, because I've never seen it.

I was just about to post this as well! Maybe this is going to be the start of a line where they release a lot of G3 dvd's over again lol. Might be worth it if there's some special features! I already own the original release, so I probably won't pick it up again if there's no change. But still awesome that it's getting re-released!

I was thinking the same thing when I watched the Runaway Rainbow last week. G3 Rainbow Dash is so different from the G4 version. All they really share is the name.  I wonder what people that aren't used to G3 will think of her. I already have the G3 movies on DVD so I probably won't get thsese, but I'm happy it's being rereleased for those that want a copy but missed it the first time around.

Totally getting the G3 - it's one of my favorites.  Not not bothering with the G4 one as I'd rather get propper season episodes, rather than just a random list.

G3 Rainbow Dash is so different from the G4 version. All they really share is the name.  I wonder what people that aren't used to G3 will think of her.
Well sadly, some of the more childish G4 Bronies just can't get behind the fact that it is possible for someone to have the same name as someone else. So they view the G3 version as some kind of fake imposter (yeah, the one that existed first is the imposter - brony logic at it's finest.) it's embarrassing sometimes, let's hope that ends soon.

In my project, they're just going to be treated like they have the same name, and that's it.  No real/fake version or anything, none shown as better/worse than the other.  Just two ponies with the same name.

I would be more worried if you did not like it.

Have to original so unless they stick a Minty with it not buying.

I've found AVMC! It was on the $2 shelf in a discount toy store, there were some other DVDs with little toys in the same packaging style but I was so focused on Minty that I neglected to look at what other shows were there. The package describes it as a "double episode" feature that runs for 44 minutes. The little plush keychain has a tush tag that says ©2005 and I believe is the same one that was in kid's meals at the Australian fast food store Red Rooster back in 2004.

Can you confirm this is the new release? Does it say "Shout Factory" or "2013" or anything anywhere on the packaging?

I didn't study the packaging but I can go back later this week and have a look for you. I just thought it was interesting to see it pop up, as I'd heard we were expecting a rerelease. :)

I don't think that's the new release.  Seems odd that it would only be $2 and come with a pony as well.

Here's the version I found it at Walmart tonight ($9.96):

which store was that? I doubt we'll have one here in brissie, but there might be one in sydney, and I'll be down there next week... I'm assuming there will be a 'normal' release in Australia too, probably through madman or one of the major retailers like Big W or Target.

If one mentions Equestria Girls on the cover, then yes, I'd say that one's new!

I've seen the proper release on Ebay Aus, with the right coding (R4), so I'm guessing it's out in the southern capitals... not here yet though - I only got my S2 Vol 3 Fim dvd today, and it's been out since last month, apparently - although it was the only one there, so maybe there's a flipper nearby, lol! Vol 4 is out not too, so I see on the madman website. The retailers are being seriously slow despite it being Christmas soon, you'd think they'd be getting all the stock available.

Who needs a case, anyway?  :)

The store is called "Cutprice Kidshop". I don't know if any locations exist outside of Victoria, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information online about them. The logo looks like this, if it helps you in your search:

Upon closer inspection, this dvd&keychain set is the old version of the movie. The disc says copyright Hasbro October 2005, Paramount pictures, etc. The disc is also inside of a clear plastic protective case - I had to look closer, it's rectangle shaped with rounded corners and kind of blends in with the packaging design, but it's there. Funny to have the old release on shelves so many years later, threw me for a loop when I saw it.

I saw the DVD-only at my local Walmart.  I am hesitant to pick it up, what with Christmas shopping right around the corner, but I think that I will ask for it as one of my Christmas/Birthday presents.  I'm so glad we are seeing some older videos!
