We all scream for ICE CREAM!!!
Ok so, I LOVE ice cream... alot. It makes me happy. And I usually am a Ben and Jerry's kind of girl ( My favorite being Phish Food, Then Chunky Monkey, and then Strawberry Cheesecake...)
Any who, last week while I was home sick and medicated after having surgery, I tried a new icecream that was on sale 2 pints for $4 at the drugstore... Blue Belle... OMG I am in love...
I don't even know how to describe this icecream, it just tastes so... clean... natural and very very delicious! ( My favorites so far are Happy Trails, and Moo-lenium Crunch!
So pony pals... what is YOUR favorite icecream?

Bubblegum, or Italian Cookie icecream. MMmmmm.

Gingersnap Ice Cream by Kleinpeter. It's so delicious and velvety with amazing chunks of spicy gingersnap cooki threaded throughout.

This Blue Belle stuff is the real deal it not only the best tasting ice cream I have eaten but it was 4 bucks for 2 pints :shocked: Try this stuff out it is SOOOOOOOOO worth it

My fav is Heavenly Hash :) yum!
I also like Parlour's Neopolitan, because all 3 flavours are mixed together, instead of separate.

I love all ice cream (except any coffee flavors) but the ones on top of my list (in a threeway tie) are Phish Food, Chunky Monkey, and Cherry Garcia :heart:

My favorite is spumoni. If I got to an italian place, I always get spumoni if they have it.
But if I can afford it I do love Chocolate Therapy and Half-Baked from Ben and Jerry's. I only get it if I plan on eating the whole pint in one sitting.

I like Breyer's ice cream when I buy from the grocery store. My favorite flavors are Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip. When I go out, I love Baskin Robbins. I usually get Chocolate there. If I go to Dairy Queen, I love Blizzards. The best one is chocolate ice cream with brownies. Mmmm! :heart:

Pistachio! Green was my favourite colour when I was a wee lass, and I'd always ask for pistachio (then spit out the nuts as I didn't like them then). I love pistachios now, so I double-love the ice cream. :heart:
I'm also fond of mint chocolate chip - used to get a really good one at HoJo's back in the day, but it's difficult to find a mint chocolate chip nowadays that has real chocolate in instead of "chocolatey" or "chocolate-flavoured" chips. Just... no. :drama:
But really... is there a such thing as bad ice cream? ;)

I knew it would be a mistake walking into this thread. I just knew it. I've been wanting ice cream all day, and have had enough willpower to keep myself from eating it. But now I want to run into Albertson's and get some!
As for favorites? I have to say it's a tie between Rocky Road (I just love the nuttiness of it), and Mint Chocolate Chip (because MINTY!).

Wow, Blue Belle is that good? I've never had it... but now I must! I love cotton candy ice cream. It is too addictive, so I don't buy it often. ;)

I love Phish Food too! It's fun picking out the chocolate fish. There used to be a cow kind just like it but I haven't seen it in awhile.

There are two that hold the #1 spot. Ben & Jerry's Phish Food and Baskin Robins Chocolate Peanut butter. Though the later, I can only get at a brick and mortar store. Nearest one to me is a half hour drive away.

I grew up eating Blue Bell (I'm from Texas.) I love that I can get it anywhere. I'm simple with BB though - got to have Homemade Vanilla. Around Thanksgiving they have a Pumpkin Praline flavor that's off the chains.
I'm also a huge fan of Mayfield Blueberry Cream Pie (regional) and the Key Lime Pie flavor at Bruster's.

SDSU has an ice cream/cheese place on campus. Yumminess made by the students. I NEED to get some as soon it's cold enough to drive with it for an hour. Failing that, Cold Stone Creamery. Chocolate mixed with salted caramel, raspberries and almonds. Now I have a craving...

I tend to prefer Sherbets because they don't make me sick.

I've never seen or heard of Blue Bell Ice cream before! It sounds yummy. My favourite is Banana chip :P

The ice creams flavors I like are coffee and butter pecan. Either in a little sugar cone... mmmmm, yum

I can't forget Cincinnati's famous Graeters and their black raspberry chocolate chip. Or our ice cream parlor Algamesis Brothers. They make their I've cream the old fashioned way with egg I believe.
Also fond of UDF ice cream, particularly Superman.

The Blue Bell factory is just a few hours away from me so we took my parents and kids to tour the factory! "We eat all we can and sell the rest" is their motto and they're not kidding. The break rooms have pints of ice cream for the employees to eat and they can take home three containers per day. At the end of the tour we got free scoops of any flavor they had in the shop. I love their homemade vanilla, vanilla bean, great divide and buttered pecan.
I like Ben and Jerry's too but they've retired my favorite flavors~ Purple Passionfruit Sorbet and To Russia with Buzz.
Oh! We also have two local ice cream places not to be missed here in Austin! Amy's Ice Cream has great flavors and does crush in's to customize. She has great base flavors like mexican vanilla, sweet cream and white chocolate but also some bold choices such as Guinness, gingersnap, and Maple with Bacon.
Last but not least, Lick. This place is a foodies dream, and was featured on Unique Sweets. This is small batch ice cream made in some of the most interesting flavors ever.
Roasted Carrot with tarragon, beet with mint, honey vanilla, strawberry with goat cheese~ it may sound gross to some but you can sample anything you'd like. He makes his own pecan praline cones too and I'd buy those alone by the pound if I could!

im lactose intolerant, and I react to too much fat solids at once, so for me its a bit different. That said, I can usually tolerate a bit of gelato, otherwise, something soy or rice based :)

Blue Belle is justa bout the ONLY ice cream in Texas. or... well... the only ice cream allowed in my house.
They came out with Banana Pudding. I WANT IT SO BAD. I miss Blue Belle ice cream. T_T

For my birthday I went up to San Francisco to this new ice cream place called The Ice Cream Bar. They make their own ice cream, and it is DELICIOUS! They have this one flavor called "Chocolate Bar," and it literally tastes like a chocolate bar. Holy crap, that place has awesome ice cream!

I hit up Marble Slab once a month or so. I love that place. Classic strawberry with more strawberries mixed in, peanut butter with cookie dough, apple spice with walnuts, the seasonally available pumpkin with graham crackers, birthday cake with gummy bears...last time they had pomegranate so I had that with blueberries. :dribble:
There's also a local place that I'm a huge fan of. It's called My Favorite Ice Cream Shoppe, and their big selling point is a whopping 72 flavors! A double cone of apple pie and peaches n cream is one of the most delicious things I've ever encountered.

Oh man, I have been binging on ice cream really bad this summer. I am not usually an ice cream person but I finally tried some Ben and Jerry's after my niece was here and got me hooked on chocolate chip cookie dough Blizzards from DQ. I love Ben and Jerry's! My favorites are Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Late Night Snack and their frozen Greek yogurt Strawberry Shortcake. Otherwise, I like a good Heath/toffee ice cream. Oh and frozen yogurt from Cherry Berry. Mmmm, yum :drunk:. :good: :dribble:

Ah yes, I really like Cold Stone Creamery... my problem is I never know what I want - too many choices! :D I like doing the Cotton Candy with sprinkles in it. Yummy and colourful.
A few weeks ago here was National Ice Cream day - Cold Stone was giving away free ice cream to the first 200 people, so we went after hubby was done work.
Oh! Once I got to try an apple pie ice cream - soooooooo good. Tasted just like an apple pie with vanilla ice cream. I've had others since but not as good (they were just swirls in the ice cream, the first one was blended right into it).
And I love homemade chocolate milk shakes, but the best I had was one place that would make a shake with any of their ice creams - I got a Heavenly Hash shake. YUM!!!! Sadly other places won't because of the chips and nuts in it, but it was the best!
