Does it seem like store exclusive ponies are dwindling? I remember in the beginning Target had the Canterlot exclusives and TRU had a few ones, but I don't see as many these days? Am I right?
-
All the new ones at Target are exclusives, as far as I know. Glitter Pie and Wysteria, Pinkie with car, Fashion size Pinkie with 2 toned hair, and the brushable sized black tie pinkie with the purse.
And the new glitter fashion style Rainbow Dash and Twilight are TRU exclusive.
-
Also Shadowbolt Dash and the new TRU Favorites collection!
-
what are you kidding, everything coming out......ok 90% of it is all tru and target exclusive, every country that doesn't have those chain stores are only getting three new characters this year; sunset shimmer, mrs cake and her little friend twisty treats -_-
-
Wow, I must be losing it. I had no idea Target had so many exclusives. Sorry
-
Yeah there seem to be less exclusive releases but there are also less be releases in general. Pinkie Pie's Boutique is a bit smaller that Crystal Empire was and I haven't heard anything lately about any new Walmart exclusives.
-
I think most of the exclusives just popped up recently:
Target:
Glittery Pinkie,
Glittery Wysteria
Pinkie's boutique FS pony w/ car,
boutique brushable pony w/ purse,
boutique FS w/skirt
TRU:
Favorites collection 2
Glitter FS Dash & Twilight set
Nightmare Moon
Shadowbolt Dash

In comparison to G3, yes I agree there are no where near as many stores who are carrying exclusive items any more. Exclusives are pricey things to stock however you tend to see less and less of it now a days out side TRU/Walmart/Target. For many retailers its less of a risk to simply stock the main line and allow Hasbro to do most of the work promoting the product you are stocking. In addition, as others have said, there is generally less in each years releases anyway so that compounds the sense of fewer releases.
