Title: "Original" G1 artwork ?
Post by: Darian on August 14, 2013, 12:25:10 AM
Do any of you know of a website that displays some of the "original" artwork for G1?  From things like the back of cards ?  This sort of style ?  Always seemed more detailed and 'pretty' than the tv-series.

These two come to mind: The MLP Backcard Resource (http://www.destinycalls.net/mlp.html) has good quality backcard scans but is a little lacking in late ponies; My Little Wiki (http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/Category:G1_Backcard_Photos) has this and that. Also, pamphlets. (http://mylittlewiki.org/wiki/G1_Pamphlets_and_Media) I'm a fan of G1 backcard art too :)

The Backcard resource is great, thank you!

I'm researching a possible tattoo design.  Two ponies holding a ribbon with the name of my daughter in it, in this style and colour and was having real trouble finding anything to use as reference material.

I love the G1 Backcards, they had the most imagination of any generation.

Sorry I don't have anything, but I thought I'd share it.

The album seems to require a password...

Whoops! I changed my security a while back, didn't realize I'd put a password on that one! When I get home, I'll fiddle a bit and change it back. *facepalm*
