Has anyone seen these? I came across them at Walmart tonight - I also picked up a G4 plastic cup w/ straw... but a retro mini backpack and a really nice journal!

I don't even know how much they were, lol I HAD to get them. I kinda want another journal, I mean it's NICE quality! :biggrin:

They were just randomly in this center aisle display with some avengers stuff. On the one side they had these, and then that's also where I found the G4 plastic cup/straw thing...

Wow, YES I must have these too! I have the perfect use for the backpack too! I just wish that someone who was making the shirts to include adult sizes because the retro pony shirts for kids seems a bit odd since the adults are the ones who grew up with those ponies. Thank you for showing these very cool items to us!

I just saw those on Zulily, but they're a lot more expensive there. It's another option if your Wal-Mart doesn't get them in. I doubt my store will get them.... We never get the G1 stuff. :(

My Walmart doesn't have them...maybe they're just behind? Maybe?

Like I said, I can go grab either one, there were not a bunch at my Walmart. I may go grab them today just because... At least the journals.
The backpack would be perfect for like, a nook or kindle, or something the size of that journal, and then some other things - wallet, pencil case, etc... it's not a full size, it doesn't really fit a G4 notebook (the new ones) very well, you can get it in there, but a corner will be getting smooshed...

Those are cool! I might have to pick them up, just because. :) I did not see them at Wal-mart when I was there a couple days ago... Looks to be a similar design as the cup and shot glasses that Spencer's had.

It stinks the backpack isn't full size. It kind of bugs me they make retro stuff like that for little kinds when their generation only knows G4's. I mean, unless a parent or other relative shows the TV series to a younger child they would have no knowledge of the series. To them, it's just another pony. Sorry if I sound mean. Like I said, it just bugs me. I have no problem with kids being collectors but this type of retro stuff should be made for people who know of the ponies and grew up with them.

I like the little mini-backpack. Since I'm no longer in school (well, not as a student...) I don't have much use for full size ones. With a mini one, I could use it kind of as a purse, or a carry bag to take to yard sales.

I put a few journals and 1 backpack for sale in my store. I had to factor in sales tax and such, but... yeah... only one of my three Walmarts has them though!

Yes I purse is what I was thinking about the backpack, as for the journal I am thinking of using it as a dream or food journal- unsure which. Or even just a journal in general. I sure hope those are at my work when I go in tomorrow.

Sunshine can you post the UPC's? I looked and we don't have them out yet but it doesn't mean we don't have them as we have a TON of BTS binned in our Garden Center. If I had UPC's I could look them up to see if we have them or not.

Upc's pretty, pretty please - I've been working the Stationary Dept at my store for the last three nights - still no sign of these but we have tons of stuff in the storeroom still - if I had UPC's I could look them up...

No sign of them at all in Midland, and I think all the backpacks/stationery stuff that's going to be there is out :( I would check Saginaw, but the Walmart is on the far other side of town from me and too far away from the other places I go to.

Woah, thats weird!! I work at one too! I usually work over in Stationary, BTS, and toys! I would love UPCs too although they would probably come up as no mod!

I can get back to you later on the UPC's on them, but I do know they weren't ringing up at the register. I had to grab something Avengers from the display to get them to ring them up for me...

Yep! I couldn't remember what the display said, other than it was black, lol - but ours had barely any of the notebooks and such - and no batman stuff (I like the look of that, lol) - all the other three sides were Avengers

And I have the next three nights off.. -So they are in PDQ's We have a TON of PDQ's in the back that are not out yet so I will be searching for them on thursday night when I get back to work. I'll be looking the UPC's up too...

Thank you for sharing the picture! I have a lot of PDQs in the back too, most are on top of bins. Hopefully we have one in the back somewhere! We have a ton of DVD ones we are getting ready to pull out. We do have a few that say "marvel" on them, I will take a lookie since the PDQ has spiderman stuff on it.

I just tried looking for the items on the telezone on 'keep it stocked' and it was saying no modular in system...darn! x( Same with 'on the salesfloor'.... nothing here in Allen, TX yet!

Sunshine, that's odd - this one had no Avengers stuff.. I don't think. Lot of Grease, plainish other super hero stuff (but still cool), and.. another classic TV show or singer or product.. Can't really remember, it was a long day, heh. I do remember one side was mostly shot glass sets. (no pony ones)

I just saw these a couple nights ago! We don't usually shop at Walmart very often but it was on the way to my parents' and I was picking up plastic baggies and totes to get my ponies from their house, incidentally! Then I saw the journal and HAD to have it. I'm a huge journaling freak.
The lines in the journal are very dark, if anyone else cares! (I like fainter lines on my journal pages) But it's nice and thick, and actually sturdy, unlike a lot of other cartoon character journals.

Wow yeah this one was all Avengers - I remember the shot glasses, but on the opposite side that you photographed, that's where my display had the plastic cup/straw things and I found a G4 version of one of those at the same display... Did you happen to see those at all? Maybe the displays are just wacko across the different walmarts, lol!

I went back to my walmart to grab a backpack for someone and our display was already pretty picked over, there were no more G4 cups, I got the last MLP backpack. The only thing left was a few journals... so I do have an extra of each if anyone ends up not being able to find them! :biggrin:

oh man, I've been looking for MLP backpacks every time I go to Wal-mart. Figured they'd have something b/c of all the back to school stuff, but there's nothing at any of the nearby Wal-marts. :(

Yeah I don't know if they display these anywhere else because I also buy these kind of cups (they work great when mowing the lawn, lol) and I hadn't seen them before I posted this. But I haven't used mine either, haha - I have to say that cup doesn't feel as.... super high quality as some of those cups can be. :)

I found the black display back near the electronics. I think earlier in the thread someone found it up front near the registers. It probably just depends on the store.

if it's a PDQ which from the picture - it is. Then No it will not be restocked. When I punched in the numbers we showed zero on hand and that the items were nonreplenshiable - doesn't mean we won't have it - we have like six or seven PDQ's that haven't even been looked at yet

If the display isn't at the front with the registers, be sure to check other areas of the store. :) I checked one Walmart a few times and couldn't find them. I went to another Walmart today and by the registers was the cereal mascot display, but I found the display with the pony backpacks and journals by the toys. I think they had just been put out because a lot of the items still had tissue paper between.
I was really glad I found them because I thought they wouldn't show up in my area.

Well all I can say is my display is totally empty of all pony items now (Never saw the cups beyond when I first bought mine), and I grabbed the last journal on the stand...
Ah well, maybe the other 4 Walmarts I can get to will eventually have these... I know one of my Wallyworlds was restocking last night and had some new MLP stuff but still in boxes and I didn't want to be rude and open the boxes, lol I know everything has to be inventoried and such before going off the shelf to be sold...

When I lived up by Chicago I rarely shopped at WalMart. I wouldn't know except it is the ONLY place in town to get most of the things we need.

They are online, someone had a link earlier in this thread about where they were online, but I believe they were also double the price. I still have one journal as well.
But they're completely gone from all my Walmarts now, never showed up at any of them except the one... :huh: Unless they still haven't gotten them out other places... but I doubt it.
