I don't get this global shipping program thingie.
I bought a copy of Pokémon: Colosseum for my son, and the item was located in New York. In what universe does it make more sense to first route that game to Kentucky, then send it to Quebec, rather than to send it straight from New York to here?
Is this something new to get used to? Is it very common on eBay?

It's a third party shipping company and from what I've been seeing, folks are paying alot more in shipping costs and customs fees. You don't have to get used to it if you avoid sellers that are taking part in this service. Not all sellers are using the global shipping program.

There a few threads in TS already regarding this program and the consensus is that it's not beneficial.
Here a few links regarding the program itself and how it works.

I was going to buy ponies a few days ago from a US seller on ebay and then spotted that they were now using GSP. The shipping costs plus the fees they were charging for it were a total deal breaker for me. There's no way the shipping and customs fees would be so much on the ponies I was hoping to buy :yikes: . I give it a miss where possible - thankfully not all sellers use it *sigh of relief*

Thanks for the info! I'll look to skip sellers who use this program now... what a pain in the poot!
You've got to wonder, though... what genius came up with this idea?
