Right I was browsing through ebay the other night and came across this:

(Sorry for the super long link) anyway I didn't win it but I'm really curious, is this a custom or variant? It's like Sparkler and Sunny Bunch have been merged into one.
I asked the seller when the auction was live if the pony had been rehaired or repainted and she replied saying that she didnt think so. Hmmm I'm not sure, surely it's a custom. Anyone know?

Hang on, isn't that SarahBees eBay account? Its the same location as her and the seller clearly knows ponies (see their feedback) that's got to be a member here. If it is SarahBeee maybe we could ask her about mystery pony? :big grin:

maybe she's like a sunny bunch prototype it'd be crazy if it was, because she should have always looked that way.

Huh, I didn't notice that at first but it is odd. The colors in the picture aren't off either so it's not that...be very interested to see more. I REALLY hope no one actually uses her for bait @_@
I don't think she's a custom either, it doesn't look at all like she's had a fbr, though I suppose it's possible she faded weirdly and then someone rehaired her and repainted her saddle. I hope whoever won steps forward and can tell us more.

I think Sarahbees ebay account is under Sarahbee and it usually says Sarahbee sales but I could be wrong.
I know £40 is a lot for bait ponies, I put a max bid on £40 and was instantly outbid so im guessing the person who won put in quite a high max bid.
Ahh I hope not, I'm really hoping she's a custom (Yes that is because i didnt win it :P) having said that it would be cool if she was a prototype or something!

At first i thought maybe the lighting was off on the photo as i know purple ponies can be difficult to photograph but its weird that she's Sunny Bunches colour almost exactly. i thought about fading to but then that seems to coincidental that she faded to Sunny Bunches colour and someone though I know lets rehair and repaint her. I'm possibly thinking about this way too much!

I thought it was a custom honestly when I saw it... does anyone know if there is any promo literature that shows the MGRs in alternate poses that might suggest it's a prototype then? yah that was a heckof a gamble, but than that is how the cool ponies can be found ;-)

It's a Sparkler and Sunny Bunches hybrid! (Or the coloring is wonky, but then the diamonds should be white rather than green.) Weird but so cool! Can't wait to see!

Ok my parcel arrived this morning!!!!
I haven't even had a cup of coffee yet, I was so excited :D
She is not a custom and not a rehair either. Her head is still securely fastened to her body.
What I think kinda strange is that the kid who owned this pony clearly thought she was called 'Lucky'. I wonder if her packaging had the name lucky on it or if she didn't have packaging so the kid just made that name up for her pony.
Its a shame about the pen, it looks like she has really nice blush underneath it all.. and no eyelashes??! but I think shes still cute anyways!

wow cool, she looks awesome! Pity you don't get much sun over your ways cause I would say that black ink would fade down quite fast (it might turn pink thou but it would be less obvious).
I love her colour combo

If we are lucky enough to get another couple of weeks like we had recently you could sunfade her. I made some surprising progress with a pen-marked Sweet Clover. :)

She's incredible!! Definitely not something I've ever seen before. Definitely sun fade though! I've been doing that with one of my nirvanas recently, and with the weather we've just had, it's made excellent progress! Congrats!

She's defenitely not just a factory error Sparkler with the wrong hair, all her body colours are different from Sparklers.
She must be a prototype, surely? What else could she be?
Either way she is great, what a lucky find!

I would say she's a Prototype which never went into production.
They probably went in a different direction.

Oh man that is sooo awesome! HUGE congrats! It's very interesting, she seems to have sunny bunch's hair color, as well as utilizing the paint colors from her saddle. It seems like the midlde pink portion isn't painted at all, is that correct? Because interesting enough we also see that with sunnybunch's flowers on her saddle. Instead of painting them they just let the plastic color show through. It's weird that she doesn't have eyelashes either, it look as though they weren't rubbed off but she indeed never had them at all. That suggests an unfinished state which would definitley point to prototype ^.^
Magic eraser might help a bit with the black, if not get rid of it entirely. I wonder though, maybe the name on her belly was written there by the makers, and the child saw it? Because it looks to be fairly neat print, distinct from all the other marks.

I have been looking for ad/leaflet pictures as well, but I have only been able to find her in "normal" poses.
I would be inclined to say prototype/unknown pony in a similar vain to LadyG's alternate pose Baby Billy :)

the black pen looks like it will come off more easy as it seems that it hasnt bleed into the plastic. you can try acetone on them!

I'm thinking maybe they got their parent to write the name on her, and then did it again themselves... I've seen several ponies this way. Congrats, a truly unique find!!

I was bidding on this aswell, but didnt notice the pony. :lookround: Only when the price jumped up I took a closer look.. Im SO happy she went to you though and not someone who would bait her without knowing what she is!

Good on you! That's why I like being part of this community, we appreciate that some people like nirvanas, euros, baits, mint, playworn, deflockable etc etc etc.
I reckon I'd sell too if I got anything other than a Euro. I just don't appreciate the ultra rare ponies enough - flaws or no flaws

I would be more inclined to say factory error/unknown variation rather than prototype. There's nothing to specifically mark her as prototype, but she is definitely not the norm! I too would put her in the same category as the variant pose Billie and Susie :)

You are right ladyg :) the prototypes are been made from resin/clay where as the unknowns are like regular ponies.

Could have been A late stage prototype. There are different stages of protos. From conception to production. I think she is a test run and they switched poses or colors for large scale factory production last minute.
Same case for baby Billie and Susie and the rainribbon.
As well as thailand mountain boys.
It was either an alternate release or a production test proto
Certainly not your common factory line mistake. Her body color,
Hair color , eye color, and symbol color are all different.
