I know that they born in 1983, but there are an exact date? the 30 th birthday is in august? what day?
I want to celebrate with my ponies, so I need to know when they meet years :lol: :lol:

I don't know the exact date.
But I read once that the start date of my little pony in the uk was in 1985, so our 30th anniversary isn't until 2015 :P

I thought it was 1982, which would make MLP 31 years old. I could have sworn I got my first pony when I was 4, which would have been in 1982. I turned 5 in April of 1983, though, so I suppose I could have gotten her in the early part of '83. I remember seeing all of the "brand new" CP ponies in the stores in the early '80s. I actually remember walking through a store with my parents when I was 4 or 5. I pointed to Cotton Candy, and said, "Look, Mommy! I have that pink one!" :inlove:

I really wish that Hasbro would of made a bigger deal out of it all. Like they did with the G3 ponies. They did something all year long :)

In other forum there is a competition for the 30th anniversary, so I think that they born in 1983, also wikipedia says that ;)

You could go from the date of patent application I guess?
But technically there is not a day - 1983 is the year and in theory the toys would have been on shelves June to August of that year. Unfortunately that is as close as you will get.

The moulds are designed and made some time before actual store release so ponies marked 1982 would't have hit the shops until 1983
G3 started appeared in stores in spring/summer 2003 but the first set are hoofmarked 2002 ;)
So, I think the G1 start year of 1983 is correct, making this year the 30th Anniversary as Hasbro confirm

I always thought MLP was always started in 1982, as well.
I based that on Dream Valley, the MLP identification site. That site says the first six ponies (Cotton Candy, Butterscotch, Blue Belle, Minty, Snuzzle, and Blossom in the original collectors' pose) were first released in 1982, while the "Year 2" ponies (the ones featured in the Midnight Castle animated special) were first out in 1983.
Although some information on that site has been proven to be incorrect, so maybe this is as well?

The copyright date on most things, toys and clothing included. Is one year earlier than the date to hit store shelves.

Yah, wish they'd make a deal of it too (Transformers is doing all sorts of cool 30 years stuff)
When did the G3 25th anniversary set come out? Maybe we could calculate month and year based on that?

I know that in another forum there is a competition for the 30th anniversary (I made a video as an entry for it :P), so a celebration here would be fantastic, MLP Arena has a lot more of members!! that would be a big party! :lol:
