Title: What kind of car do you have? - GOT MY CAR!
Post by: StoryDreamer on July 19, 2013, 11:42:18 AM
Update: I got my new car! A 2011 black cherry Mazda 6. I freaking love it. It has air! And radio! Which I didn't have before thanks to crappy mechanics.

Thinking of trading in my wife's and I's cars for one newer car. I have a Civic and I love the gas mileage, but I also really like the Cruze. We rent cars a lot for business which has let us test out several including the Chrystler 200, the Cruze, the Civic Hybrid, and a Pasaat.

I've never owned a new car or a car that's even a few years old, so I'm excited about the possibility of getting one. I also am 6'1 and my (2000) current car, I have to climb out of it at a weird angle, so a newer car is bigger and has way more leg room.

What kind of car do you have? Do you like it? What's the gas mileage like? What kind of car do you not recommend?  I've had a Ford Contour and it crumpled like paper in a wreck.

My dad is 6' 5" and has a Chrysler 200. He fits fine in it :) I have a 2012 Ford Fusion (my first car lol!). I like it except the bumper is total crap. I cracked it after pulling up too close in a parking space that had a cement marker at the front. I'm leasing my car so I'll have to get that fixed xD I get pretty okay gas mileage. Maybe about 22 or so per gallon. I think my dad's car gets about the same. Are you looking to buy a car or lease it? It may be cheaper to lease a newer car versus buy it :) Good luck :D

I have a 96 Toyota Celica (hatchback). I love it to bits.

I decided when the engine goes, I'll be getting a new engine instead of a new car. [and that is NOT likely any time soon]. Mostly because I don't like any new cars, and, I am quite happy with what I have. I get 30-31 MPG, which I think is so-so.

If I had to choose a new car, I'd be getting a Challenger... which would be an awful choice... but it's sooooo cute.

My current is a ragged 1980 Plymouth Volare (the only new car my family ever got). Gas mileage isn't real good because unlike most Volares, this one has a 318 V8. It hasn't even cracked 80,000 miles yet. What I like about it is you can work on / replace parts yourself, and it doesn't tell you what to do.

Right now I drive a Ford explorer, but I drove a Chevy 7z1 99 forever till two years ago. It guzzles gas like most trucks, but it handled better than anything I've driven. I miss that truck! Oh well, dad loves it.

I'm not much of a car person. I try to keep them in decent condition, but that's about it. If it goes I'm fine. I do prefer trucks.

Hmm-  I have a Jetta but am pretty much in the same boat as you in terms of needing a trade in.

We just sold the wife's 17 year old Honda Civic for 6K- so that was pretty cool.  You have to hand it to the Civics for longevity...

Although we need to trade in the Jetta before it starts crapping out on us- I don't have a lot of hope.  My wife wants a nice sensible Subaru hatchback.  I really want an Audie.  Not exactly much room for meeting in the middle, sigh.

I guess if I were picking a car based on sensible criteria rather than what looks cute- I'd size up the latest Consumer Reports sizing them up.

I have 4 cars, but my favorite is my 2005 Honda Insight. 60mpg, tiny and no major Repairs at 90k miles. 2 seater, but it has good head room. I am 5'9" and sometimes I get very cramped in cars!

I used to drive a Suzuki but I got into a wreck. It got totaled but it protected me! I now share my mom's 2010 Mercades until we can find me a new car. I'm trying to find something with a small hood (bad at judging distance,) good mileage, and can take a beating.

I'll be watching this thread.

Cool-  I've always wanted us to get a solar system (my dad installs those for a living) - but he explained that Seattle isn't really the best place for solar energy... I guess you need more than three solid weeks of sun a year

My brother is like 6'5 and drives a Mini Cooper...... I have a 2012 Ford Focus and I love the gas mileage, but the interior is kinda cheap feeling. On the other hand, my hubby has a 2011 GMC Terrain SUV and it gets okay gas mileage.

Also, really cool on the *solar* car. Our local electric company makes it darned near impossible to go solar :(

I have a silver PT Cruiser. I love it, but she's gonna need a lot of work next month. All tires need replaced, AC doesn't work, and there is a big crack in my winshield. But I love her. She drives like a dream.

Here is my truck.  I have owned it for about 16 years now and it was my first car.  I confess to being a bit emotionally attached to it but it is getting over-due for an upgrade.  Add to that, I am pregnant and there is not room for a baby seat in the back!

I have an ice blue, 2005 KIA Spectra LX... an upgrade from my previous 2001 Jeep Liberty. :P  KIA gets about 30-ish MPG, just the right size for me (not too big or too small), and perfect for road trips!

I can't drive just yet and I don't have a car of my own, but I'll just tell you what my parents have.

My mom has a 2007 navy blue Ford Fusion. She used to drive a 1987 red Honda Civic until it finally got dangerously rusty on the bottom a little over a year ago. She loves her Fusion, but she really misses her Honda. She picked it out herself with her dad in 1987. For now the Honda lives in our garage, collecting dust.

My dad's car is a maroon Buick LeSabre which we bought in 2003. And my sister semi-owns my grandmother's old light blue 1987 Honda Accord. Surprisingly it's great despite it's age, and it really doesn't have too many miles on it. We also used to have a blue 1990 Buick Century and a red Thunderbird from sometime in the 80s, but those went to car heaven.

I have been meaning to start a thread like this, glad someone finally did!

Mine:
2009 Toyota Corolla XRS named Missouri. She has 235,000 miles.
2008 Toyota Tacoma named Alice. She has...over 100,000 miles.
I am 5'8" and both are very comfortable, the truck has a lot of leg room but obviously does not get the gas mileage that the car does.

My mother is 6'1" (all legs, really) and she has a Toyota Sienna, previously had a Solara and a Corolla. The van is the worst as far as leg room, she hates it. But, it is an '06 with over 350,000 miles. My mother is very comfortable driving my Corolla, as well. She has been considering a Prius for years.

My fiance is 6'3" and has a Toyota 4Runner. He loves it.

I had two fifth generation Celicas in the past, a '92 and a '93. Wonderful little cars, but too low to the ground for my taste these days.

I saw a red gorgeous Volvo in the lot today, but I fear it may be too small for me. I peeked at the Cruze I'm wanting after the lot closed, and I don't know if they'd consider two trade ins..

Galaticat, it's interesting you sold the 17 year old Civic for that price! My 2000 is a little 50k miles (it was my grandmothers, she literally only used it to go to Wal-Mart) and  is in decent condition. Wondering if I can get that for mine as well. The wife has an Infiniti and we know the resale value on that is high, even in "fair" condition, so I'm wondering what we shall do. Thinking on this.

I plan to get a loan for a car, not lease.

Keep the responses coming!

I drive a 2008 Mazda CX-9.  I love it, and so does my husband (and he's 6'3").  But we have four kids, so we like the fact that it seats 7, lol.

As for gas mileage, it's decent for a large car.  But since there are days that I don't drive at all (we live in walking distance to lots of things, including our kids' school), so I usually go 2 weeks between fill-ups, and just recently I went 3!

I've got an 2004 Grand Am.  She's my baby and has never puked on me without least getting me home or somewhere safe!

It's a domestic and the parts are cheap.  Stock brake rotors, moving up to some after market ceramics have been one of the best choices I've made for the car.  The gas mileage is good, I get about 28-33mpg, and unlike a hybrid which has a battery that makes for a major mess in landfills when they have to be replaced and cause lithium shortages, my car is almost completely recyclable.

I'm fairly short, so fit is important to me.  Which it's a nice fit, but my dad who is 6ft has no problem driving it either.  The car is pretty nimble and fun to drive, even for a 4cyl.  I haven't had anything major but an engine repair when I bought ( car was practically salvage ) and then the fuel pump last year, just maintenance other than that.  I've got 165,000 miles on it, because I've done a lot of road tripping.

If I was going to buy something new(er) I'd like to go with a Mercedes or Volvo coupe.  Just for a nice daily driver, but what I really want is a '67 Firebird.  << >>

If I had to choose a new car, I'd be getting a Challenger... which would be an awful choice... but it's sooooo cute.

I have to agree with this (well, not the cute part :p). I LOVE the new Challenger. I know it's objectively worse than the competing Mustangs and Camaros in virtually every way, but every time I pass that one local purple Challenger with aftermarket wheels I go "hnngh" a little. It just looks like it enjoys picking fights with other cars. Like if cars had hobbies, the Challenger would say it's hobby is punching Civics or something.

Although we need to trade in the Jetta before it starts crapping out on us- I don't have a lot of hope.  My wife wants a nice sensible Subaru hatchback.  I really want an Audie.  Not exactly much room for meeting in the middle, sigh.

If you're going used, a used out of warranty Audi is a terrible idea. I consider most cars made in the past five or so years to be pretty solid and you really can't go horribly wrong with any of them, but used Audis (and Mercedes) are one of the few exceptions. Unless you enjoy being nickel and dimed by electronic issues.

I would still love to own a B5 S4 (1997-2001) one day as a fun weekend toy, but as my only car? No. Way.

If new? Lease it, enjoy it and run away and don't look back when it's over.

My car is a 2002 Altima BTW. It does what it's supposed to do, which is take me from point a to point b reliably and comfortably with a bit more zing than a Camry.

we have 6 so I don't think I'd need to name them all but our gas getter is an 07 chevy cobalt SS supercharged... it get's about 30 mpg high way (which is a lot in our fleet) and my husband who is 6'1 drives it to and from work every day and fit's fine :)

so you might fit in a cruze since the cobalt is smaller I believe... and the cruze has 2 more doors lol.

the rest of my cars get under 20 mpg each, but they don't get driven on a daily basis.... 3 of them only get driven in the month's where it's under 70 degrees (which here is like maybe 5 months a year if that) and they're all older def not something you'd find on the lot.

Audi's are good cars, especially if you're in snow country.  All wheel drive or rear wheel drive ftw.  They handle snow and ice better than most domestics.  Jettas. . .  Well, they've gotten a lot better than what they were in the early 90's.  Family had one and that thing was a miserable thing.  I would so go for the Passat over the Cruze, especially a diesel Passat.  Great gas mileage and very solid vehicle.  I don't trust Chevy in the least.  All their newer cars have been miserable to deal with.  My mother has a Pontiac Torrent and that thing is a major junk pile, handles worthless, it's extremely uncomfortable and it's had SO many issues, and I hate to say that of a Pontiac.  I would take a G8, but it's not really a Chevy, but Holden, and while it may be the AUS division of Chevy, their's are better than our's.

Chevy is just the bottom of my list when it comes to domestics, honestly.  ESPECIALLY since they killed Pontiac.

I have a 02 Toyota hilux, I'm not too sure what they would be badged as in your part of the world, but it's a 2.7l petrol Ute / pick up truck. I absolutely love it, but I wouldn't be upgrading to a newer one as they don't have the strength or reliability of the older (pre 05) models. We had a few newer model ones at my old workplace and one was written off at just 30, 000 kkms which is really nothing. It went through a large body of water, once, which they should be capable of.

I would not go back to a regular car, I think having a tub is too convenient, fuel isn't too bad either as its a 2wd and a four cylinder, it's about the same for around town or highway driving. But it's not as economic as a smaller vehicle either.

Personally I love it, but understand it's not everyone's ideal car either.

My mum owns a 73 beetle, that is one pretty awesome car, great on fuel, cheap to run, cheap to insure and it's a real heat turner if you like that sort of thing. Personally I don't like drawing that much attention to myself, but mums a bit of a show pony lol. She had a cop chase her one day just so he could have a look at it, she was terrified lol.

The only concern I'd have with Audis (as I've mentioned) is long term reliability. They do make great snow cars, but I feel like a Subaru might be a better go, if say, snow is a concern.

VWs however, are a interesting case, as both come from the same factory (or engineers) and while VWs still aren't say, Honda good, they are better, maybe because there's less electronics and technology there.

Also of note: People who buy VWs seem to really love them and become VW for life people. They must be doing something right. MiRaja's TDi suggestion is a really good one. VW makes some great diesel motors, and hey, if you feel like spending some time (and money) and are Eco-conscious, you can get them to run on veggie oil. Your car's exhaust could smell like French fries! That's awesome!

Failing all this, standard Gamefaqs answer: Nissan Maxima.  It's the only sensible car we all agreed on as being not dissapointing.

From my experience, Audis are not always that reliable long term. They are also expensive to fix.

There is a dead Jetta in my driveway right now. It belongs to a friend that cannot afford to fix it. Looks nice on the outside, low miles...but very dead.

We have the Toyota Tacoma here. Unfortunately, we do not have a diesel option either. They are still good, capable trucks though. :) I would absolutely love to have a Hilux!

I am one of those VW for life people.  I've driven Toyota, Honda, Chevy, Dodge, Nissan, and Mazda before, but I have never had a car this reliable and fun to drive.  It's great in all terrains too (I live in a mountainous area, lots of ice in the winter, but lots of heat in the summer as well.)

Mazda would be a close second, though.  I had a Mazda 3 hatchback and it was an awesome car.  My mom has driven Mazda for the last 27 years religiously.

I've driven almost nothing but Buicks so far. Mostly cuz my dad likes them and he worked at a car lot and gave me the trade ins. My current car is a 2002 Buick Regal and I really like it. It has lots of space for me, I'm just 5'4" though. It's kind of a lot of car for just 1 person to use but I am so used to the space that when I get in my mom's 2000 saturn or my friend's civic i feel crammed in. It's nic e long drives though, does pretty well on  crappy california freeways.

I have a 2007 Saturn Ion2.  It gets very good gas mileage, which was a major factor in my choosing it.  I drove back to Midland, Michigan from Indy after the Fair on less than a tank of gas (just under 400 miles, used about 3/4 tank...this was with half of the inventory of my vendor booth weighing down the car as well).

I would not recommend it for someone your height because it is quite low to the ground, and even I at a measly 5'4" occasionally smack the side of my head on the door if I try to climb in too fast.  Having the car sit so low also causes some problems in going over bumps in the road, pulling out from a sloped driveway onto straight roads or vice versa, because the bottom gets scraped very easily.  No performance problems yet, but it makes me nervous.  Also, the gas tank is on the passenger's side, which can make it tricky to get into a gas pump when lots of people are in line at the gas station, as most cars seem to have the tank on the driver's side and line up accordingly.

*Buick fist bump for Jupiter*

I'm looking at new car options, too. I currently drive a 1999 Buick Regal, and we're pretty much the best of friends, but I'm working on accepting the fact that the days when such glorious land-yachts roamed free are waning. I fully intend to drive my beloved vehicle into the ground, but I'm trying to get a feel for what's out there now, as I'll definitely be looking at a used car of some kind when the time comes.

Old and plentiful cars like the Regal are great because parts are dirt cheap, especially as some of the older ones start to hit the scrap yards. GM used a very similar form factor for this car and its sister brands over a few model years back in the late 90s and early 2000s, so there's a good pool of cars out there with a lot of parts in common.

im hoping soon to have a Saturn Viu (prolly misspelled) just waiting on one final hurdle to get over financing wise, but I should know today or tomorrow if its ours!

my friend has a Buick that's older than dirt, and I love the thing. Opulance... he has it. if I went for a car id go for a boat like that, but im kind of more of an SUV/ clunky Blazer type. something I can fold seats down and toss a bike or a few hundred totes of ponies or crafting materials in! *crosses fingers the Saturn goes thru*

Saturn's are nice but they don't make em anymore. My mother in law has one that needs work and it's cheaper to get a new car.  I'm really leaning towards the Civic. My Civic has been great and the new ones are so roomy. I rode 4 hours in one, and it was nice. Like a 2010-2012 maybe..  keep the answers coming!

Well, since all 3 of our vehicle's have stood the test of time in WI I have a few things to say:

1. '07 Jeep Compass. This is our big mistake vehicle. It's good for nothin' and I wouldn't recommend anything that's Dodge, Chrysler or Jeep at this point. Just too clunky and the road noise is deafening in the back seat! We got it with only power steering so we wouldn't have to deal with common electrical issues. It was in an accident on the lot w/under 10 miles. We've replaced a lot on it already because of that not being disclosed to us when we bought it. Yes, that has added to our soured view. It has horrible blind spots. Has a big 4cyl manual, so engine power isn't an issue, it only gets about 20 mpg, reduncluous! Overall eh, uh hah, no!

2. '98 Mazda Protégé. Amazing vehicle, I'm guessing you saw my recent pic of it on FB, LOL. Not only has it survived multiple death threats from other vehicles, this thing gets 35 mpg. Looks like crap, but a solid winner in my book! I highly recommend Mazda, if you can get a manual it will last you for at least 200,000 miles!

3. '02 Ford F250. You want something that owns the road and eats Miata's and Geo's I'd recommend one of these baddies! Quite spacious for a lovely tall lady like yourself! For a v8 beast it gets just as good of gas mileage as our Jeep. (Something's not right there, LOL.)

We also owned a '05 Hyundai Elantra. Great gas mileage, at least 35 mpg w/manual. However too light, horrible handling in the winter. It was like a suped up sports car, hecka fun to drive. I want another one.

I have a white Nissan Cube. I love it. It gets 30ish mpg, has a super comfy driver area (and I'm tall). It is a good compromise between mpg and loads of interior space. The only downside is snow handling.  :)

We have a Pontiac Wave, and I love her. I commute ~40 mins each day, and spend $60-90 in gas each pay period (2 weeks), which is great. Plus the trunk is huge - doesn't look like it from the outsite, but there is a lot of space in there.

05 ford explorer. I am tough on my cars and anything that makes it to 130,000 i'm shocked! Still going strong!

02 ford F-250 Diesel. Four door long bed, love it! Huge difference pulling with that vs the explorer. Just got back from taking the trailer and four wheelers down to wayne and you can not even tell a trailer is back there.

Our beater is a ZX2 but I don't even know what year it is.

We have had so many cars. Used to take hondas and nissans to the track on the weekend and got out of that. Sold our spec v not that long ago and that was a fun cheap little car. I miss having a six speed.

I rode in the Cruze when we rented one and it was super comfortable. So was the Passat. So I shouldn't look at Audis or Jettas? Bad cars?
From my experience, Audis are not always that reliable long term. They are also expensive to fix.

There is a dead Jetta in my driveway right now. It belongs to a friend that cannot afford to fix it. Looks nice on the outside, low miles...but very dead.

We have the Toyota Tacoma here. Unfortunately, we do not have a diesel option either. They are still good, capable trucks though. :) I would absolutely love to have a Hilux!
I will admit that my desire for an Audie isn't exactly one born of sensibility.  They're really cute   But my dad fixes cars- and he has told me that they are in fact VERY expensive to work on- and that you have to order most parts overseas...  which is a bummer.

I disagree that Jettas are not reliable.  I've had my Jetta since 2000 and it has been an extremely reliable car with no problems at all, and I used to drive it a lot.  I think the only real problems have been hardware (ie the handle for the glove compartment and other little annoying things- which I have heard is pretty typical).

I am a gadget fiend so I want to get a car that connects via Bluetooth with my smartphone cause I got tons of mp3s of music that they just don't play on the radio. I also like them small and good on gas. Something like a Yaris or a Spark is what I want instead of my current car with just a CD player. I don't like my current car too much.

We have a 2005 Impala and my hubby's 2003 Mazda Protege5. The Mazda iss going into the shop now though, since a 90-year old man rammed into me with his Buick boat in the McDonald's drive thru. It runs, but has some other issues, so we may just get another one sometime soon.

All cars basically have an auxillary or USB jack now, if they're  2009 - current so you can play from your smart phone. Plus a lot of them read MP3 cds, so you can burn all of your mp3s on a data cd and it will play them. My last car I had, I had an 80.00 stereo from Best Buy installed that did that.

I just use the auxillary with my iPod. If you have an iPod the cables are pretty cheap. I can't drive without my iPod, otherwise my anxiety would be through the roof.

I'm also looking at Yarises (Yari?) for a new car. They're pretty solid and get good mileage.

My husband and I just got our Renault Clio IV 0.9 TCE Expression :) It's in glittery flame red and absolutely beautiful :lovey:

It's of course a stick shift and at the moment our mileage is around 30-31 mpg. It's suppose to be pretty economical when it comes to mileage and we just got it so I think we can improve that number in a couple of months when we're more used to driving it and my husband stops trying to "race" the car when he gets the chance and use up too much gas on his fun :P According to the EU-norm, it should be getting around 52 mpg but that's under very optimal conditions that are practicallly impossible to achieve in real life so we're hoping to get it up to 40-42 mpg. I don't know what the mileage is for automatic gears but I'm betting it'll use more gas than the stick shift

It's got a small engine but there's a turbo in it so it can really move fast in no time :) It's generally really fun to drive so that was something that sold us on the car when we took one for a test drive at the dealers a few months ago :)

It's also got a multimedia system with Bluetooth so you can answer and make calls over the system and keep both hands on the wheel while talking. The front seats can be warmed up. I love this car :)

we have 6 so I don't think I'd need to name them all but our gas getter is an 07 chevy cobalt SS supercharged... it get's about 30 mpg high way (which is a lot in our fleet) and my husband who is 6'1 drives it to and from work every day and fit's fine :)

so you might fit in a cruze since the cobalt is smaller I believe... and the cruze has 2 more doors lol.

the rest of my cars get under 20 mpg each, but they don't get driven on a daily basis.... 3 of them only get driven in the month's where it's under 70 degrees (which here is like maybe 5 months a year if that) and they're all older def not something you'd find on the lot.

6 cars! Holy cow! And I thought we had too many at 4 for 2 people! Heehee. Now I don't feel so bad. ;)

yeah I do ponies and other childhood nostalgia he does cars lol... so I don't argue... and there's only 2 drivers here too... but I'll tell you what, having older cars lowers my insurance and no one has ever whined about having cheaper bills lol.

ETA: My 72 monte carlo has a CD player in it that I got from best buy for like $150? and it has a USB connection so I can play my IPod in it and AUX so I can hook up my phone... so I would say the technology can be put in anything. Also our 07 cobalt has the AUX option as well, so it might be in even older then 09 just depends on the can manufacturer. We only own Chevy's (not that I haven't tried and driven lots of other stuff) that's just what fit in our family.

Also, heated seats are nice but I really wish they had a control as to how hot or not hot I want it lol... I want climate controlled heated seats (without having to buy a fancy car lol)

I'm looking at the Elantra. A 2009. It got great ratings, good fuel economy and it says it's very roomy for tall drivers. A 2009 lets me get leather seats too - soooo much better to clean.

Currently I have a Mazda 3. Before I had a Scion xA, Mazda 3 hatchback, Nissan Rogue & Nissan 370Z.

I've had two Mazdas and I can't recommend them enough. I would say the same about the Scion, but being over 6', it's definitely not the car for you. Haha. During a storm, I lost control in the snow, got t-boned, ricocheted across the highway and the car flipped twice and landed on the roof. And I walked out of the accident. So yay for safety!

My father is 5'10", but has the torso of someone who is 6'5". The Mazda 3 hatchback was his car originally. One of his requirements for a car was that he could sit in the backseat with a little room to spare. With the sunroof there is more headroom so it worked for him. I get pretty good gas mileage, but I don't have the new Skyactiv or whatever it's called. I do drive a manual transmission, which helps, but I drive it like I would drive the Z.... so sometimes the mileage isn't that great.

I had serious issues with the Rogue. The fuel gauge malfunctioned and had to be replaced - THREE times.  Nothing like driving and sputtering out with no gas when it says you have 1/4 tank left.  >_< The front passenger side door broke twice so no one could get in from the outside. And it happened to the driver's side door once too. I would have to climb in through the back.  :enraged: I purchased it brand new. Ridiculous.

Hope that helps!

My car came out during this brief fun period when you couldn't get a tape deck for it (I think the previous year was the last one) but you also couldn't get an AUX jack for it (came out the year after). Unless I get one of terrible AM/FM jacks for my MP3 player, my lone option is new radio. Those tape deck adapters were decent, but the radio ones, not so much. Still the idea of knowing what station is in the car next to me and switching my tuner to it and picking a polar opposite MP3 as a prank is tempting.

I have a 2009 Nissan Rogue.  I bought it new and have not had any issue with it yet *knock on wood*.  I lived in Boston for the first few years of owning it and it seemed to get decent mileage in the city and on the highway.  I actually bought the Rogue because of its safety features.  I had been in a pretty bad car accident in 2008 - I was driving a Corolla at the time.  I was rear-ended on a highway by someone traveling 90 mph in an Audi.  My little Corolla looked like an accordion!  I'm 5'5" and I fit well in the Rogue... I'm not sure how someone 6' would fair... :wonder:  Probably okay though!  Best car I ever owned though was a Subaru Forester. Not a very attractive vehicle but it was very practical!

I have a 2000 Hyundai Elantra GLS, station wagon. It's my "Mom Wagon", also loathingly called the "Hobo Mobile".  She's silver with a dark grey passenger side door. I paid a little over 2k for her, and have put around 5-6k back into her. Every year, she keeps more and more work down. My check engine light has come on and I'm through. I'm completely done with her. Washing my hands of her.

That's why you have that back window for plushies! I roll with Smurfs in my back window... It is too bad about the stickers, our cars have no extra fun decals, but oh well not much holds up to winter and scraping it all up trying to get into an ice covered, salted up car... I have a 08 Honda Fit that I absolutely adore! (I call her Misfit.)  Great gas mileage, fun to drive, low maintenance, and surprisingly roomy for such a little car. One of the drawbacks is that she *Must* have snow tires in the winter. She's too light to be great in snow. That being said, I live on Northern Maine and we get *A LOT* of snow here and *Still* go to work in it. Once I got snow tires, I had no problems in snow. So, other than that, I LOVE my little car!

Congrats on the Mazda!  I just love our Mazda - I think you'll be happy with it!  :)

Having to do farm work, I've always needed a fairly strong vehicle.  Currently I have a '09 Chevy Silverado  2500 Diesel.  Gas mileage is horrible, like 20-25 mpg, but I only drive 10 miles a day typically.  And I can pull just about anything!

I was just looking at Honda Fits! Unfortunately there aren't any used ones for sale.

But I did get my new car today! I now have a gray 2002 Volkswagen Beetle named Chupathingy Mk. II (Chupathingy Mk. I was my Opa's Suzuki I totaled.)

Congrats on your new car! :) I've driven quite a few new Mazdas in the past 3 years myself. My personal favourite is the bright green Mazda2. :P They're great, I think you made an excellent choice!
