OK so I was recently in Russia ( St Petersburg) and was struck by the beauty of this gorgeous empress in one of the shops.
I was told she is a one of a kind handmade doll. Simply gorgeous
Needless to say I had to get her ( though she wasn't cheap). When I got back I was curious about these dolls and ran across
this antique bisque doll apparently which was sold at an estate auction and she dates to the 1950's.
What shocks me about both dolls
is the exquisite attention to detail to every part the dolls. The clothes and the undergarments are intricately detailed. Even the fingernails are painted to resemble nail polish.
Anyone have more information on them?
