Sorry if this is in the wrong place :blush:
This was a great weekend seeing all the costumes at the fair. It was really hard voting for the best ones! Seeing Lady Barnacal win was exciting for my daughter because she voted for here. Sitting her playing ponys this afternoon with her she asked about the Big Brothers. The conversation went something like this (she talks a lot) :
Her: "Mommy, Why dont the pony people make girlfriends for the Big Brothers?"
Me: "No clue Libby"
Her: "Can you make some girlfriends for my Big Brothers?"
Me: "Um I think you would be better off finding a girl from your ponys for them. Its a lot of work making ponys & Im not
that good at it."
Her: "Well they dont match like the family ones, Like Apple Celebrations."
Me: "Its Apple Delight & Sweet Celebrations."
Her: "Oh, Well I was close enough. I have Quarterbacks girlfriend have a Cheerleader symbol, Saltys would have a
mermaid symbol girlfriend, Barnacal would be with a pony that had a canon with ball symbol."
Ive never thought about this ever! What would be the best Girlfriends for Big Brothers? What kind of Symbols would they have?

That is so cute! I love having conversations like these with my daughter... but now she is nearing 11 and I don't want to talk about boyfriends .. at all..

anywho... I think it would be cute to customize some of the Sweetheart Sister Ponies to be Big Brothers' girlfriends. I think she is on the right track with the coordinating cutie marks :)

I had two Big Brothers as a kid (Wigwam and Salty). So if they had gf's with similar markings I always thought it would be.
Wigwam's gf=travois, cradle-board or basket
Salty's gf=compass rose
Several of my non Big Brothers where male. Non TE Sky Rocket, Speedy,Moonstone,Sky Dancer.

My ideal Girlfriends would be:
Salty- ship wheel or a compass
Quarterback- cheer cone or pom poms
4 Speed- Street sign or maybe route 66 ( not really sure about this one yet)
Barnacal- A Map or a canon w/ ball
Slugger- A baseball glove maybe a base plate thingie
Tex- Boots
Steamer-Tracks
Chief- A fire hydrant
Wig Wam-maybe a campfire with smoke symbols

Its crazy what little kids can think about. A lot of times when we get older we get overwhelmed with life. We do not think about cute little things like this.

I did have my Barnacle with Waterfire.. but I'm not sure if they were a couple of father and daughter. I would say the latter. He's standing next to Rosette for now..

Hmm, I think Cheif should have a girlfriend with a fireman's axe as a symbol and 4-speed should have a construction sign as a symbol.

There are cactus flowers you could use on Tex's girlfriend to match his cacti... :) I love all the ideas but you have my gears turning, lol... I'd love to see SHS's made into your daughters ideas!!

Wigwam's gf could have a feather. Or shell hair ties with beading. Every tribe had their own styles. Personally because I'm Cherokee (from OK), I thought Wig n family would be southern plains.
Tex, always wanted him as a kid. His gf could have a fancy pair of tooled parade boots as her symbol. Or I like a cactus flower, maybe a hummingbird. Actually speaking of symbols, I always wanted Tex to have a sheriff's badge as his symbol.

All my wife's Big Brothers are paired together. I think Barnacle is with Salty. I dunno I didn't ask. :lol:

Lol, I get it. My home town is only an hour west of there.
So I bought G3 Desert Blossom specifically for Tex. I think they are a lovely couple.

I'm so glad someone mentioned Waterfire and Barnacle. I got Waterfire for my birthday and was finally able to buy her daddy from the Fair (thanks Munchy! :frolic: :hug:). I've tried to imagine Waterfire's mommy before, but the best I can come up with is a ruby. Like, maybe it was some buried treasure that Barnacle had found and used to propose to her, and it's red like fire hence Waterfire.
And Tiffy, your daughter's imagination is soooo cute! I really really like the idea of Quarterback dating a cheerleader pony. Maybe you can customize one in your high school colors!
As for Wigwam's wife, I'd love to see a running deer symbol. I think that would be really pretty.
Maybe a girlfriend for 4-Speed or Steamer could have a Volkswagen Beetle symbol?

4-Speed is kinda constructiony, I might put another type of equipment on his girlfriend, maybe a backhoe or front end loader in the same style as his dump truck... Not very feminine but... a match to a dump truck!
I think Salty should have a life-ring on his girlfriend... like a red/white lifeguard type ring... or a FISH of course, haha...
Anddd... You can't get better than Quarterback with a Cheerleader!

You guys all have the neatest ideas! I love the dalmatian Idea too! I love all of them! I always could picture Munchy as Sluggers Girl, But thats just cause I picture snacks with baseball games. The SHS would be perfect, but I dont see why they couldnt be with another brother or MB lol as long as they are happy I guess thats all that matters. I would love to see some of these creations made, but Im not the one to do them.
What about Big Mac and some other Boys? The Mountian boys is giving me a hard time. I asked the kids what Tornados Girl should look like & one of them said A a tornado in a trailer park... I dont know what to think of this, They got the idea from Disneys Cars, When Mater says hes happier than a tornado in a trailer park.

I always paired mine up with existing ponies, but I love the idea of custom-matched ones too. I might make one someday.

My Sunburst is together with Moonstone.
Not sure about the Big Brothers. I never had any. But Tex makes me think of the Arena member Lady Wrangler.

I love wizard of oz so I would vote for this one. Only the shoes would be silver like the books. I don't know why they was ever made red?

It was just to show off the technicolor. I prefer the silver, too. :)

This. The Wizard of Oz was one of the first films to really take advantage of technicolor and that's part of why it's such a crucial step in the history of film. But I digress. :) I would prefer the ruby pony shoes actually, just because I think the film is a little more recognizable, though the books are works of art on their own.

I just prefer the sliver over red any day, but I would be all out for buying shoes that came off in Red & Silver lol. The movie is more recognizable, most people don't know there was more than 15 books made for the wizard of oz. or even care to read any books vs. movies. I do Like the new OZ movie its a good mix of some of the books- Some
