The other day, I was browsing Doll in Mind that has a girl I'd fallen in love with, and saw the two words you never, ever want to see: SOLD OUT.
I was easily consoled because they still sell her head, but it was still a nasty shock. This has happened once before, with PlanetDoll's MSD-sized Aqua Mermaid, but this one somehow hurt more.
So, how many times have you been looking at a doll, or some eyes, or clothes, only to find that they've been bought before you could get them?

Well, I love hand sewn dresses for my girls. They normally upload around 9pm est or something - which is in the middle of the night for me and with kids who have sleep dissorders, I cant afford missing precious sleep for clothes... So I often wake up to the "sold out" sign... The other day I was trying to get custom plushies of ponies.. But my fingers was too slow at the last minute and I got none :( very sad! Im not a good item stalker basically.

It's never happened with a doll yet but it happens with doll clothes all the time. A dress I've been wanting on esty sold last night. I finally had the money today to get it too. Sucks but I guess something better will come along.

I missed steampunk day on the Ellowynne Wilde site. They sent an email but I read it a day too late and they were all gone. :cry:

My sympathy to you all. Especially you, Alicat. My two are Dollzone, and Anson has to be the prettiest faerie doll I've ever seen.

A few months back I missed an outfit by VENECJA on etsy. It sold the day before I had the money for it. So, when I spotted a different outfit for my upcomng doll, I immediately messaged her and asked her to reseve it for me, and she did! I am still in mourning over that other outfit though ;.;

I didn't have the money to buy Iplehouse Luna Tamer when she was released. Thankfully, I found her much later for.. well, a much higher price on Ebay. But I'm really glad I have her now.

I missed Soom Lig/Nodia.
I was totally out of money, so I wasn't checking any doll release ( so my heart wouldn't suffer ^^''),
but I did see Soom's Lig/Nodia release... two days after they were sold out. And YES, I DO regret... a lot :doh:
Trying to get one second handed but it's not the most popular headmold at the marketplace,
if you get what I mean... :bawl:
(and the only one I've ever found for sale was in green resin... I want white ;-; )

I once saw the most beautiful Soom Aloa on the DoA marketplace, but when I contacted the seller he was already sold.. :cry:
Aloa is my absolute ideal,grail,once-in-a-lifetime,dream doll and this one had such a perfect faceup by a brilliant artist -Poppy, and he's living with someone else.. I could literally cry!
If I do a search for Aloa his listing will still come up and it stings everytime I see it. I know it's insane, right?
But I will have an Aloa, and he is going to be every bit as beautiful!

DollZone Violeta. She was discontinued while the other molds that were released with her are still available. I kick myself for not getting her when I had the chance, and she doesn't pop up much on DoA's marketplace. :shrug:

You can try Den of Angels in the Marketplace (Tiny dolls section), but I've never seen one of these little guys for sale there. :cry:

Oh my god, it's happened to me again!! Spotted a beautiful Bygg on the MP, contacted the seller within a few hours of the ad being put up, I hear nothing for like a week and then they tell me the doll is on hold for someone else.. I could scream and cry, why am I soo unlucky with BJDs.. argh!

Oh, I am sorry you missed out on Feny and Necy, Tiella.. I loved those two at first sight, but the more I looked at them I realized they weren't for me. I hope you can find them second hand later on.

:huh: Boy there's SO MUCH stuff I missed. Mostly because money has been scarce for the last few years and there was never enough for 'fun stuff' like dolls.
In no particular order :
French Kitty dolls. impossible to find now at decent prices...
various Re-Ment sets
early MH dolls
miniature Designer Chairs collection
Panty & Stocking tiny figures pair
and the Adventure Time DS collector's edition that got out just last year.
I suppose I could still get all those things if I was ready to pay 5 x the original price, but that's no more an option than buying it at regular price was back then. >_<

Mini Lalaloopsy Cotton Hoppalong, which was sold just a year ago from a local seller I know for $11. Now she's.. :cry:
And I've known Pullip Papin since 2007, but I was a high school-er then~ I am buying her now at layaway, but I think what I 'missed' is her cheaper price (she almost doubled now) back then. :lookround:
Oh and a few months ago, a preloved Puki Pong Pong for less than $200 with tons of extra lovely outfits.
It's because of money issues for me also~ :(

My grail doll is Withdoll's Halloween Scarecrow. I couldn't have possibly afforded her even when she was out, but I'm still super ticked about it.

The first doll I ever wanted was Soom Beyla. She had already been sold out quite a long time and was always outrageously expensive when she popped up for sale pre-loved. I was so sure that I'd missed out on the doll of a lifetime. But then I found Nerine on DoA after Doug a search. She had a gorgeous faceup and blushing by Andreja (an artist I could never afford myself), came with her full human set, extra hands, and most importantly: her HOOVES. She'd been listed for over a month and I was so sure that she would be gone, but I PM'd the seller and she was available AND I was able to do a 3-month layaway! The seller also threw in 4 wigs, an outfit, and several pairs of eyes. I only paid $450 for all of it.
So the only doll I really missed out on worked out ok for me, since I eventually found her.

I've got two, the soom Zinc centaur and iple's cyborg.
Both were available when I found them, but I wasn't sure if I was going to collect bjds and I spent too long thinking about it and the sales period ended.
But since I only wanted the zinc to make a girl centaur, and he is too pricey on the second hand market, I'll be making my own eventually.
