Title: Price-check needed on big list of Nirvanas, please help!
Post by: moodymand on June 15, 2013, 02:01:54 PM
Hey all. I need price checks - I apologise, this is quite a big list (what's left of my collection) but even if you can give me a value for some of them, it would be a huge help. I'll be checking ebay ended listings too over the next few days. (I don't have a lot of free time really so if anyone here can help it's much appreciated.)

Please note I'm not taking offers right now, I just need prices first!
All are loose.

Many thanks. :)

GREECE
Lemondrop - both versions have been selling for $40-60 this year on evilBay

ITALY
Lemondrop - any version with stamped eyes at most $15, the AB eyed ones maybe $30?
"Snuzzledrop" (white hair) - either version around $100 - I don't think the hair drops her price drastically but have the impression she's been low lately

MACAU
Brown Peachy/Snuzzle - $40-60 would seem normal
Lemondrop - $25-30
"Snuzzledrop" - $40-60, the non-bleeding symbol one is considered rarer and could fetch more

I could be interested in some of these LDs should they come up for sale and depending on which versions they turn out to be.

I am not too much help with much of your list.  I do know that recelestia has a huge argie collection and a price guide, you could get a lot of help there. Typically the oddball Princess Variants range from about $45 to $90 from what I see here.  A couple may fetch more, especially the Bobbie/Happy Tails variants as they are not seen too often.  I would love to make an offer on most of the girls with medallions. :)  Good luck with your ponies!

I don't know about most of them but a couple of months ago i got German Princess Sparkle (Coral Hair) for $75 and Baby Hopscotch for $42.

You have so many ponies i'm interested in.  Need to start saving some money :)

ponies like raindrop, nightlight and starshine tend to have age spots and they determine their value. pics would be great :)

Thank you all for the help so far!! Much appreciated! :D

Yes, certainly the conditions of these ponies do vary considerably, and some of them (Sternie in particular) do have age spots. I just wanted a general average value for each, so I could then determine a value based on their individual conditions ;) I will be getting some photos soon.

Relcelestia - The red-haired CJ has right-way-up cherries! Sorry ;P

I am getting some messages asking about certain ponies and I'm not sure what to do. I said I would not take any offers/requests but I was bound to get some messages... I didn't really want to hold anything for anyone yet, unless anyone is REALLY interested in a particular pony. Maybe I should have just posted the list in Sales first, and taken offers XD

i would be really interested in an italian airbrushed eyes blossom if you have one :D

i have my german starshine for sale for 60 US$ - minty condition, just 3 age marks
raindrop and nightlight always were about 100 - 150 US$, no idea if this is the current value
german skydancer - about 40 - 50 US$ ?
german flutterbye - about 30 -40 US$ ?
german moonstone - about 25 - 30 US$ ?

I'm afraid I don't have an airbrushed-eyes Blossom, zora :( Sorry! The Butterscotch, Bluebelle, Snuzzle and Snuzzledrop all have airbrushed eyes.

Thank you for those values. Also thanks mul-ta and everyone so far. I'm going to be spending a long time on ebay today looking for ended auctions lol!

You should go ahead and put the ones up for Offers that people have pm'd you about in the Nirvana Sales forums
with a reserve in mind.
This happens quite often now with Price Requests.
Your Argie sparkle ponies are quite valuable.
The Princess Variants as you know can be very fickle on the prices
depending on who is looking as are the Happy Tail cross overs.

The German Princess Variants are running $75-$85.
and if you have a glow in the dark Princess Variant you can pull in around $350.00 for one
Lots of people looking for any glow in the dark.

Good luck with your sales.

Yep, I'd be interested in making offers on a lot of them too, but I don't want to swamp you with more PM's, so I'm patiently sitting on my hands.

Umm, if you're going to be taking offers, may I suggest that you do it in groups of maybe 5 to 10 ponies at a time?  Otherwise, you're just going to be swamped with PM's, and it would be hard to keep track of offers if you try to sell so many nirvanas at once.  Plus, I don't know about the rest of your guys, but if I see 10 nirvanas I want, I almost just feel pulled in too many directions.  So moodymand, you might get more for your ponies if you give your bidders' wallets a chance to recover somewhat between rounds.  Maybe you could break it down into groups by country.

Some collectors like me might want you to hold their wins for a few rounds so they can combine shipping.  Personally I hate to spend 20 bucks on shipping, and then buy another pony from the same seller a week or two later; I'd rather just delay shipping for a few weeks so it can be combined.

I can help with the Shy Poses -

Brazil Parasol - $40-$60
Brazil Gusty - $50-$80
Greek Parasol (Orange) - take offers on this one. Last ebay auction ended above $200, I believe.

...and I need to throw my hat in the ring for your Argie Brillitos Futterbye. I need her for my Shy Pose Army!

Thanks for the values Jadis :) I just have the Italians left to price I think.
kellyponyfeathers - I think I may follow your advice. I don't want to stretch it out for too long, as I don't want to be running back and forth to the PO for weeks on end - I have a busy life ;) But I will definitely break it down a little.

I'm afraid I didn't get around to taking photos today - I've been busy preparing for an art show. I will get that done sometime this week.

Also I am definitely going to be opening offers on the ones I've had interest and PMs about (seems to be the same ponies, haha). I hope that's ok with you guys. Those of you who PMd me, I will get back to you and let you know in advance of me opening the offers. I'll also probably take offers on the ones I can't get a value for (there are some I have no clue about and I can't find any ended listings, plus being out of the pony loop for a long time...) I actually also found that I have an Argie red-haired Tickle that wasn't on my original list.

It's going to be a busy couple of weeks for me but I will get those pics sorted soon :)

mandy

I will see if I can help with these few :)

German Princess Amber/Starburst
G. Princess Sapphire/Royal Blue
G. Princess Aquamarine/Serena
G. Princess Ruby/Primrose
G. Princess Pearl/Tiffany

the german princesses I would value at $60-$80 each :) Princess Aquamarine might go lower since her she is not that much different to her regular counter part, unless she had the bubble gum pink hair or the pink-lilac hair.

German TE Speedy (pale) ~ $20ish
Greek Parasol (orange version) ~ pass!
Macau Cotton Candy - white hair version ~ $50-$60
Macau Cotton Candy - peach with pink hair ~ $45ish
Macau Bluebelle ~ $35-$45
Pinwheel (No Country) ~ $20-$25
Starflower (No Country - has glitter symbols) ~ $25
Confetti (No Country) ~ $15-$20
Trickles (No Country) ~ $15-$25
TAF Love Melody (Trickles pose - No Country) ~ pass!
Parasol (No Country - non-glitter symbols) ~ $40-$60
Moonstone (Made in Spain) ~ $30 her spain hoof mark is HTF
Peachy - white hair (No Country) ~ $40-$45
Mexican Skydancer ~ $25
Peruvian Skydancer ~ $20-$30

Pink! How are you doing :D Nice to see you around here! Thanks for those values  that's a big help.

Shelti - thanks :) I actually had a closer look at my Love Melody and I have a suspicion she's a rehair. I will be getting some photos of the inside of her head and her tail also, to double-check with you guys. He mane and tail are the fading-pink sort (but still quite pink). She also has a standard tail clip, like the HK ponies, just the little metal tube clasp... and I know that one of my other Spain ponies has an odd-looking large metal tail clip with words printed on it. So if that is a standard feature of Spain ponies, then this girl is definitely rehaired! I'll get some pics as soon as I can. :)

Sebby - I'm not Mandy85 :) but I think I remember your username from years ago on the UK MLP Yahoo board... I could be thinking of someone else!

It's ok... I think it's the right time. I have held on to them for long enough and have sold off various ponies over the years til I was left with the Nirvanas... and they just sat in a box upstairs. I was collecting them when I lived at home and had much more disposable income - I'm probably not going to be in that position again any time soon, and I figured I may as well let them go to active collectors :)

Ahh, really?? I think I remember now!! LOL I have such a terrible memory. Ok, so she's repinked but her mane and tail are original? Did you sell her to me?? I just can't remember hahaha!!!

As for the Spain Starflower (well, NC actually) I remember posting about her tail clip when I recieved her, as it was so unusual. But no-one knew what it was all about. I'll be sure to get photos of it.

Pythia - I have decided I probably will do this a few at a time. ;) I have had a think about it, and it seems to be a better way... I suppose there's no rush to sell them off all at once!

I think I remember. That's terrible that I forgot that! I have the worst memory. XD

Can you remember if her mane was original or did you rehair that? Her head's unglued and the insides look kind of like they've been threaded through by hand. Sorry I'm being so emptyheaded!!

Thanks Hokus :) Much appreciated! I will probably take offers on her too though, as she isn't in the best condition so I'm not sure what's the best price, and I can't find any Fr Parasol ended auctions on ebay.

Thanks Pink :) Good to know! I'll doublecheck her mane plugs again. I really hope that mane is not rehaired ;)

Lady Starflower, and everyone else who expressed interest in ponies: I have decided to follow the advice and group the more sought-after ponies, and accept offers on them in groups (not yet!!) I feel this is the fairest way. I have messaged everyone who messaged me, to let you all know about this. Once the groups are done, I will then put the remainder of the ponies that are not quite so sought-after (the majority of the Italians, the Germans, etc) up for fixed-price sales.

So keep an eye out on the Nirvana Sales! I will also leave a notification on this thread once a group of ponies has gone up for offers. I will likely do one week of offers per group, and there are six groups.

Of course I still need to take pictures... But now I know I don't need to take photos of ALL the ponies at once, it doesn't seem like such a daunting task :P

Well, it seems like I've upset some people already... I'm sorry guys but I did state right from the start that I wanted price checks and I wasn't offering the ponies up just yet. I realise it's a little naive to not expect interest, but I did feel pressured into setting aside certain ponies that people were interested in before I even started the sales.

I hope I'm doing the right thing here. Maybe there should be some kind of policy regarding messaging people about price-checks... Or maybe I should have never asked for PCs and just put the whole lot up for offers from the start. I would know better next time. I'm sorry to anyone that's upset.

Anyway, keep smiling everyone... :)

Mandy don't worry about it there's always going to be some crusty people and you did state you weren't ready to sell, just do what you plan on doing. I'll wait patiently for Starflower :)

No, you said at the very beginning that you weren't taking offers right now. Anyone who wrote you after stating that was 1) rude and 2) wrong.

And if anyone is giving you grief for not holding a pony for them instead of taking offers...well, personally, I wouldn't allow them to make offers on anything. These are YOUR ponies, and it is your decision what to do with them. There are no rules in the Arena about "first come first serve" or being obliged to sell to anyone.

You people are all too nice sometimes. Don't let people get away with disrespecting you.

I so agree with you Jadis4742 about this.
This is why we have a forum where members can freely ask for Price Checks.
No one should feel pressured to sell their ponies to a Community Member without knowing the currant value or at least an idea of that value.
And to make moodymand feel so bad she has to make a comment.

This sort of Behavior has saddened me for some time and seems to be getting worse.
It's not wrong to ask a member if they want to sell but it is wrong to pressure especially when it has been posted they are not for Sale or they are taking Offers when they open them up to this.

While I understand how people might be excited for a chance to get a pony they've been wanting for ages, it's totally unfair for them to hassle you and make you feel bad when you have already set out how you want to approach it.  Just do things how you want to do them! I'll keep checking this thread for announcements.  :)

Hey thanks guys. It's ok! I can understand where people are coming from and yes they get excited... I have not bought a pony for a long time but I remember the feeling I got when I'd check kcat99's sales page and there were new ones up... It is an adrenaline rush when you see one you really want. So I don't blame people for doing that :) It is partly my fault, as I said to a few people I would hold ponies for them. But I didn't have any idea on prices for them at the time (still don't for some of them!) and then I decided offers would be better. I should have stuck to my guns from the outset!

Unfortunately it's pretty grey and miserable in my part of the UK today and not good for photos. My first batch up for offers will be six Argentina ponies. Once it's brightened up I will get some pics of those girls and get this show on the road ;)

Well, it seems like I've upset some people already... I'm sorry guys but I did state right from the start that I wanted price checks and I wasn't offering the ponies up just yet. I realise it's a little naïve to not expect interest, but I did feel pressured into setting aside certain ponies that people were interested in before I even started the sales.

You have been out of the loop for a while  it takes while to get back in the swing of things and that is a big list of ponies!

You have done nothing wrong what so ever. You are allowed to make price check whenever you want about any pony you want: a price check is not a commitment to selling something at all. A price check is just that, asking the value of something :)

IMHO you are best never to sell blind, always do your research! there is nothing worse than sellers remorse or being lowballed.

I quote this from your first post:

Please note I'm not taking offers right now, I just need prices first!

This thread is a price check thread, not a sales thread. The ponies are not "officially" up for sale yet.

If you make a PC thread some people may well assume that you are/will be selling and may well pm you about the pony in question. BUT on saying that simply owning a certain pony and people knowing you own that pony will also leave you open to people messaging you.

While it is exciting to see all the goodies that might go up for sale and it is exciting get PM's asking about ponies, please remember you manners, be patient and wait until the sales are official.

Thanks Pink  I think we're all good now! :)

Right, some information:
The first group of ponies will be going up for offer in Nirvana Sales on Monday, approx 12 midday GMT. (That's when I get home from work!)

The six ponies in this group are:
ARGENTINA Collector pose Lofty - pink with red hair
ARGENTINA Collector pose Cherries Jubilee - coral with red hair
ARGENTINA Collector pose Cherries Jubilee - pink with white hair
ARGENTINA Collector pose Confetti - white with blue hair
ARGENTINA Green "Rock" pony with guitar brush (Glory pose)
ARGENTINA Orange "Rock" pony with guitar brush (shy pose)

I will take offers for six days. End time will be 12 midday GMT Sunday 30th June.
The next group will then go up Monday 1st July. (This gives me 24hrs to sort out who has bought what.) And so on etc etc.

All photos and descriptions of ponies will be in the relevant thread in Nirvana Sales when it goes up.

(Question for Mods - Am I allowed to make a separate thread here on Nirvana with notification of these sales? I was going to leave a comment on this thread each time, previous to each group going up for sales - I thought a different thread might be better for that, but I can keep them here in this thread to avoid clutter if that's better! Maybe I can change the title of this thread? I don't want to confuse anyone though!)

Thanks all for your patience :)

We have the nirvana sales forum :D if you made a sale thread in the regular nirvana board it would only get moved ;)

People know to check the nirvana sales forum :P so it would be best to make your sales thread there and keep it updated using the edit feature. It might confuse people if you post here and in the nirvana sales forum, plus it would mean you have two threads to look after.

Oh yes, I am definitely going to have the sales/offers in Nirvana Sales! :)
What I meant was: I was going to leave a post on this thread before each group went up for offers. And I was wondering if a separate post would be ok for that. But actually I can see now that is pretty pointless and I'll just be making more work for myself. :P

So guys, if there are ponies you're interested in from my list, you'll just have to keep a keen eye on the Nirvana Sales for the next couple of months (which I'm sure you all do already!) until your ponies come up ;)

Thanks Pink for all the help. You're a star!

I can't believe people gave you grief after you *specifically* stated you were just after PCs and not wanting offers. It's rude enough that you got messages with offers at all, but to get cranky at you for not accepting their offers is just not on!

I was just going to say that I was a bit confused at first with the second lot of ponies being added to the original sales thread. It might be a bit clearer if you started a new thread for each lot, that way comments etc would stay separate and with the right pony group. :)

And wow, I have to get saving. So many ponies I want!

:) Pythia - I thought it might keep the Sales from getting cluttered (there's going to be about seven threads in there otherwise!!), but I will happily start a new thread each time if that will be better (and if the mods don't mind). What does anyone else think?

Personally I'd prefer separate threads for clarity, or at least not deleting the old ponies when you add new ones (you could always hide them under a spoiler tag). I don't know if you want to reveal the final sale prices, but as you sell based on offers I imagine they could be a useful future reference for everyone.

mul-ta - that's a good point. I don't mind people knowing the final sale prices at all, and I can see why keeping them up would be useful.

Okay, probably after this group has run its course, I will start new threads for each group :)
