My first was Moondancer. I still have her, but she's soooooo gross. Poor girl doesn't even have a tail. I'm going to see about trying to sunfade her

I was 6 when I picked her, I even remember where ^^ She has always been my most important pony ever since. I've upgraded her recently but she will of course still stay the queen of my herd.

My first pony was Moonstone. I have her accessories as well, not sure about the ribbon though. I just realised that this is the only photo I have of her (btw I think I considered her a bit of a him when I was little) and it's not from the DS. Think I have to dig her out and take proper photos...

Oh my gosh, me too! Except my first pony was Peachy, bought for me by my Great Aunt for my second Christmas. (I was two...born April 1982) Unfortunately, I sold my childhood herd when I went through a streak from 18 to 21 that I was "too old for toys". (INSANITY!) But when I started collecting again the summer G3 started, guess who my first was? PEACHY! And even though she's not the same one Nana got me, I still smile when I see her sitting on my shelf, and she's the surrogate grandmother to the pony who was always my avatar as a kid, Baby North Star. :)

Sadly I can't really remember because I got a huge lot of like 100 ponies back in the early 90's and the only two I remember of all of them was Posey and Sugarberry.  I had so many but those are the only two I remember.  I sold the entire lot like an idiot and I think I even had some rare ones and it would be just my luck that I might have even had a mimic and didn't know how special she was at the time.  Blaaaaa

I honestly do not remember. I had a ton of ponies as a kid, all but a few were purchased used. I do recall buying Baby Drummer on clearance though. I do have most of my original ponies, but I have sold some to lovely members here. :)

My First pony was Heart Throb, I fell in love with her as soon as I got her (she was a birthday gift) and she quickly got many friends.

Sadly I don't have her anymore. When I started collecting and I discovered I could trade one one my ponies for like 10-20 US ponies I promptly traded a bunch I my childhood ponies. There was some many characters from the cartoon I loved and could never have as a toy. Also we never had any unicorn available in Brazil.

I don't have any of my childhood ponies anymore. I only remember one pony and it was a white or light yellow sea pony. Not sure which one since most of the white sea ponies were from before I was born.

My first was Star Glow too! :frolic: I think I got her for Christmas when I was two, but I don't quite remember. There's an old photograph I'm looking for that may prove this.

As to whether or not I still have her... I don't know! :( I have no memory of getting rid of my ponies, but I don't seem to have them anymore for whatever reason.

First ponies as a collector were the G3.5 sparkle fakies from Dollar Tree, but the first Hasbro pony was the sea pony Sunshower. :)

My first was TAF Buttons, along with baby noddins. I got to pick them out for my fourth birthday present, and I remember picking buttons first, then seeing a bunny pony I asked if I could get two.

I sadly don't have any of my childhood ponies anymore :sad: (except for my favorite petite that I found hidden away)

My first pony is the very Moondancer right here in my avatar. I got her for Christmas in 1984, along with Majesty and the pony castle (which my sister quickly "accidentally" broke). Here's a pic of her fresh from re-glittering.

Or it might have been Posey... I was two-three years old when I got them so I really can't remember a time without any of time. The same goes for Baby Blossom. She was my first baby pony and I got her right after these two.

My first pony was Twilight who I got when I was four. Sadly, she got lost in a move somewhere along the way. But my second pony was Firefly and I still have her. Her symbols are almost gone and she lost her tail a loonnnggg time ago. My mother made her a new tail out of light blue yarn which she still has. I will never part with her! :heart:

Here are my 'firsts' from each generation of pony that I own:

G2 Sundance: My sister must have gotten this in a McDonald's Happy Meal when she was little. Eventually Sundance was passed down to me, but I had no idea she was an MLP for the longest time.
G3 Sparkleworks: I got her as a Christmas present from my uncle when I was 8 or 9. At first, I wasn't too fond of her, though I quickly began to love her!
G4 Applejack: I just loved her and the little dog she came with! I believe I bought her just before I started watching Friendship is Magic. I really tried for awhile to stay away from the show and the toys so as not to get carried away, but that obviously didn't go over so well!
G1 Moonstone: It was this wonderful community here and my love of ponies that got me into the G1 ponies! I thought Moonstone would be a very nice starter.

My first pony was Gusty and my sister's was Powder. I still have both girls but they need to be cleaned up before I take pictures :biggrin: I don't have space to display them all yet so I haven't cleaned them all up yet.

Edit: I'm looking through ponies by year and realized I also had Sea Mist and Tiny Bubbles and my sister had Surf Rider and Sea Star (all sea ponies) so I'm not sure which ones we actually got first but I always thought Gusty was my first but I don't have exact memories getting them because I was so young.

I got my first pony when I was about eight or nine years old. It was a G3 Ponyville Minty - she was found on a street. Before her I had two or three fakies and I always dreamed about a real MLP pony. A year later my dear auntie presented me G3 Pony Friends Rainbow Dash, and since this gift I turned into real MLP collector =) Those two cuties are still in my collection, and here they are together:

Unfortunately, I no longer have my original MLPs :cry:

When I became reunited with MLP as a collector, :happy: Sundance was my first pony. I just adore her to this day. I'll never forget when I received her in the mail; she was practically in mint condition minus not being in her original box. She was perfectly white with a beautiful pink mane and tail with a crisp, purple ribbon (look at my current avatar) :heart: When I went to college I left her back home...I will need to get her as well as the rest of my ponies when I am visiting again (besides, my mother is already packing up my room now that I have graduated college. Thanks mom LOL).

I think my auntie got her for my birthday when I was little,and that they also got me the Birthday Celebration with Razzaroo but I'm not completely sure on that :P She's in really good condition other than one tiny mark,I think I tended to play with my fakies more!  :blush:

I am going to the Fair as the first MLP I ever received.  Yes, she was a gift from my parents.  I did get to choose her on my own.  She was from Toys 'R' Us.  I loved the color of her hair and her cutie mark :)!  My sister bought a pony too that day.

My first pony was either CP Bowtie or Posey (NSS). I can't remember which one was first really, and I can't remember who I got it from either. Probably not my parents though... I was around 2 years old at the time. The first pony I really remember buying was baby Glory(around five years), and the first pony I remember opening up was baby Blossom( probably around three-four years old).

Actually, most of ponies I can't really remember getting or who bought from me. THe only one that I do have a very clear and vivid memory of is Majesty and Dream Castle as that was my present for my five-year birthday party. I got that from my grandparents and my parents together. It was the most expensive present I'd ever got, and also the very last present I got from my grandfather... It was he who had insisted that I got Dream Castle as I really, really wanted it. He died shortly after that. So sad :(

The first MLP I remember receiving when I was a kid, was TAF Merriweather. She was a prize from another kid's birthday party game.

However, I had owned a SS Wind Whistler before her... I don't know how I got Wind Whistler, but I always thought she was a "fakie" because I'd never seen any other SS ponies before. (Yes, when I was a child I had the concept of "fakie".)

Both got pretty beaten up during their lifetimes though. Wind Whistler was given away long ago, and Merriweather was given to an Arena member (Princess Sparkles) in hopes of rejuvenating her. :)

Since then I've gotten a replacement Merriweather... And wouldn't mind a NSS Wind Whistler.

Any reason to photograph a pony XD
No mold or dirt, she just changed colors on me.

Don't really remember, I just know she was the first.
Ponies I remember:
-Peeking in my ma's closet on a daily basis to see the Baby Surprise I was getting.
[by far one of my strongest childhood memories and my ma never knew]
-Going to TRU for the last year I got to pick out a birthday present pony: SS Cupcake
-Choosing between Firefly and Medley, winner: Medley
-Getting the package with Pink Ember.
-Day Princess Primrose got introduced to the herd.
-A evening I went with a Grandma to Target and got flutter Tropical Breeze.
-The night Surprise showed up and had a concert [she was a pop star to me.]
and  I remember I always wanted Minty and Good Luck bear,
but couldn't have them because of the good luck Clover.

Cotton Candy, way back in 1982, when I was 4. I'm sure my mom bought her for me. I don't remember if I picked her out in a store or if she was given as a birthday or Christmas present. Cotton Candy is still one of my favorites because she was the first. :heart: I love all the Collector and Birthflower ponies.

My first pony toy was the Remco fakie--I got it for my 1st or 2nd birthday!

My first official MLP was either Winger Sky Dancer or Baby Brother Whirly Twirl.  I was so little I honestly can't remember which one came first.

Cherries Jubilee was my first pony. My mom got her for me when I was 5. That's when the obsession started. All I wanted were ponies from then on so ponies were about 80% of my toys when I was a kid. My parents even surprised me with Paradise Estate one Christmas. To this day that was the best Christmas!!

First pony = Cotton Candy, Christmas 1984.  Love at first sight!  Still have her.  She lost her purple flower brush along the way (which always bothered me as I was and am an accessory nut), so one of the first things I purchased as an adult collector was that brush!

My first g2 pony was Sky Skimmer. I bought her myself in store.

My first G3 was Rainbow Dash. Bought her for myself.

I actually got 2 as my first ponies. We were visiting my aunt and uncle, and my cousin decided to give me her 2 ponies that she didn't play with anymore. So I went home with Firefly and Sand Dollar (with her shell). :heart:

When I was a kid, my first two ponies were Princess Royal Blue and Teeny Tiny Baby Little Whiskers.  I have a memory of going to a store to pick one out and I think I remember asking if I could have a baby too.  I don't have any of my childhood ponies anymore.  When I was around 13 or 14 I thought I was too old for ponies so I gave them to a childhood friend of mine who was a few years younger than I was.  We used to play with our ponies and barbie dolls together.

I think I was maybe four, not sure.  If I was four it was 1988.  When I started recollecting as a teen I think my first was either G1 Majesty or G1 Moonstone, but I think my first G3 was first release Rainbow Dash (the one that came with a charm).

My first was Light Heart and her canopy bed. My Granddad bought her for me in Asda when I was 5yrs old. I was with him at the time, so I did choose her I suppose :)
My second pony was Morning Glory and her castle, again bought by my Granddad. She was on sale (£6.99 if I recall?) in Index (wow, wonder if anyone remembers that shop?)
I then got a small collection of G2's before taking to the internet and discovering G1's. I ordered my first G1's (Butterscotch, Twinkler, Little Honey Pie and Little Tabby) from My Little Pony UK, before proceeding to ebay. Then the trouble really started  :lol:

My first pony was Fluttershy Riding Along
followed after few minutes by Rainbow Dash  Riding along
found them at a Tuesday Morning  on July 27th 2012 :)  that is the official date that I started collecting
so almost 1 year and after 300 + ponies of all of the 5 generations , I'm very excited to see the new toys about to come out just in time for the 1 year Celebration of my MLP collection :)

According to my Dad my first pony was Kisscurl with the Grooming Parlor which may have been for Christmas because he said I also got Lemon Drop with the Show Stable which would have been a big present and my birthdays right after Christmas.

wow you remember!!! LOL  I remember too :) LOL  I first said only basic G4's , then the Fashion Style snicked in, then trying to find a nice play set to display them brought the G3 Castle with a little herd of G3's as freebies with it and the ponies keep coming :)!!!LOL
it has been tons of fun and the Arena makes it so easy to jump into more pony stuff  :)!!

I can't really remember my first pony, but I strongly suspect that Speedy, Powder and Tic-Tac-Toe share that position, since I just can't remember a time without them. I don't have them any longer, though.

My first pony was g3 Blue Mist. I think I also had a g3 Sparkleworks. (I vaugley remember playing with my cousin in a hotel room that I was staying at. With an orange pony. It could have been hers though)

My first pony a collector was g4 talking Princess Cadence at Target. Then I saw a wedding Lyra Heartstrings and desperately wanted to get her too.  I was seriously obsessed with the Canterlot wedding.

I love these threads :) Here's my first, my beloved Tuneful. He's a guy... and I thought that long hair wasn't fitting when I was a kid. so it had to go. The tail fell out due to the tail washer being so rusted it broke into several pieces... He's a very well-loved pony. I still have him and love him.
I should give him some time with my new camera, but here's an old pic just for the thread's sake ^^
(all of the oldies have seen this picture a million times... sorry XD)

i don't remember but I bet my mom does. Though  my first pony was probably pretty early on. I have a memory of picking out medley but  I probably had a pony or two by then already
