I'm making plans with friends to see Equestria Girls, and the thought hit me--what about going to see it in Pinkie costume? It wouldn't be the same as the one on the screen, just my own interpretation. Thoughts, Arena?
-
That sounds like a cute idea!
-
I already planned that if they would show it in Finland, I would take my Pinkie pie wig with me! So, do it!
-
i would love to do that. but i'm going with my niece... and she doesn't like it when i dress up.
-
I think it's a great idea :) People dress up all the time to see movies.
-
That would be cool! I wonder how many others are going to do something like that?
-
If they showed it in the UK i so totally would :) I'd wear one of the several Tests The Patience Of The Moderators In An Ongoing Basis :drama: Pony cosplays i have :D I think you should totally go for it ^_^ Post pics for us if you do :)

OMG, I'm making plans with my friend to do the same thing!! We are sooooooo freaking excited, we're going hunting for costume pieces today! (Purple skirts should not be this hard to find...) I say go for it!! ;) It's easier if you have a friends around to have fun with!
-
Never, ever too much. Making silly memories is what it's all about! I remember going to the library dressed as heaven, hell and purgatory. Mental.

If I snag a ticket I'll be going as Rainbow Dash (Applejack Engineer if everything shows up on time) so go crazy!
-
That's an awesome idea.
-
hope you'll post pictures!
i'm buying my tickets tonight... don't want to miss out on this.
-
I think it's a fun idea!
-
I'll definitely post pics! :D I ran it past the friends I'm going with (sort of a "Hey, would you be embarrassed to be seen with me?" thing), and one wants to go as Rarity, while the other doesn't want to dress up but is so on board with going with us.
-
Go for it! Dressing up and cosplay is fun! (Now that I have read this I might go with my Queen Chrysalis horn and ears headband :satisfied:)
-
I would love to dress up, but I'm going to just wear my G1 shirt. If I had time to make Rarity's dress from the movie (that adorable blue one), I would go as her, but I'll just stick with a shirt. :)

III WANNNAAA SEEEEE!!!!!

Here's a preview! I did the same one for Katsucon a couple months ago.

I may try to make a new skirt before go time, though, I've got plans. :D

I'd like to see what the guy Bronies wear to the theatre. lol Hope they don't scare the kids, since it's not yet Halloween!
-
I was going to dress as Darth Maul....
Just kidding

Oooh, slight panic moment, apparently you can't buy tickets for the premiere party in LA - apparently it's ALL 'rush' seating? Oh dear. Let's hope we can snag a seat!
-
I am one of those peeps who thinks there is a time and place for cosplay, and I think a movie release is perfectly fine. Some people just cosplay at odd times. But I can see why someone would do it for a movie they are really looking forward to. You may not be the only person cosplaying either with how popular FiM is.

DO IT.
-
That sounds like a good idea! I'd go in a Fluttershy cosplay if I was allowed to go see EqG.
-
I think this is a brilliant idea and I agree with what others have said that movies like this are a great place for cosplay! I am sure you wont be the only person :)

Oh dear...why are you not allowed to see the film?
-
Oh dear...why are you not allowed to see the film?
well, I can't really afford to go see the movie... And Mr.TALE gets worried sometimes when I go out without him. He's just trying to make sure i'm safe because London isn't too friendly some days. He'd rather be there with me just in case something were to happen.

Thats a shame you cant see the movie but also sweet the Mr.Tale is thinking of you do much.

Aww, super cute!! I bet you'll be the belle of the ball! Er, movie theater! Whatever! Have fun!

Snapdragon,
I bought tickets for the premiere at the LA Film Festival if that's what you are talking about. I plan to stand in line for a looooooong time to get decent seats.
I might wear a pony skirt that I bought at LPU (I wore it in the Build A Bear Special for Brony Clubhouse)...if folks see me, some say hi! I love meeting other collectors!

I'm going out of my city (Pasadena) since there's no way I'm gonna make the premiere. I'm gonna go to the Van Nuys showing even if it's a little bit of a drive (half an hour, not bad)
If I see you I'll be sure to say hi!

He can always go along! I asked my hubby if he would go with me, and he sighed and said yes. I don't think I'll get him to dress up in anything pony-related (sometimes we call ourselves Mr. and Mrs. Cake, it's our codenames) but at least he'll go along and suffer through!
-
My boyfriend is coming along with me! He's not thrilled, but he's not dreading it! See if your husband wants to go! :)

that sounds uncomfortably controlling. No one should be 'allowing' you to do anything, let alone see a movie. You should go!
ALSO! Shiro, I told you this before, but I really like that costume. I think it'd be a cute thing to wear there. I remember seeing people done up as Klingons, Starfleet officers, and even more at various nerd-thing movies over the years.

It's not so bad... He's only trying to look out for my safety and I know he doesn't mean to control, he has good intentions. But it's also a matter of cost too, neither Mr.TALE or I have enough to go see the movie in theatres so we'll just have to wait for it to come out on DVD or see it another time.

Ma'am, I will not pursue this because it would derail poor Shiro's thread and I do not want to upset you but I am worried.
As for the money reason, yeah, movies are pretty expensive these days.

Really? Are they sold out now? D: Because when I go to order tickets, it says 'RUSH' next to it. (Unless I wanna buy the hundred-dollar festival pass - no thanks!) Oh dear!! I didn't buy tickets yesterday because I wasn't sure if I was going, then at midnight I tried to buy some, and no dice!

it's in van nuys? I'll be in Burbank it's too bad I'm working, would love to see some peeps.
-
False alarm, my friend showed me where to buy the tickets. D'OH. But I'm confused - the site says rush-only, but you can buy tickets too? Wha??
-
Sounds like a really cute idea! If I go see the movie I'll probably be Rainbow Dash!
