so we have some heavy rainfalls here in austria and this is how my capitol city looks like today (ignore the text, the pictures speak for themselves - the river on the pictures is the danube):

i have to go there tomorrow for work.
my hometown is affected too but not my own house because we live on a mountain.
please send some ponylove to the weathergods so they make the rain stop :lookround:

Yikes! Stay safe! That's awful! You may want to call work tomorrow if it's still flooded that ad and see if you still need to go.
-
*nod* id call in and ask if they are still open before going.
Stay safe!
-
 Stay safe! I used to live on a flood plain and if it's that bad, I'd not take any chances.

thank you all! but i think as long as the bridges are above the water i will have no excuse. i am afraid to drive over them as the water isnt very far away from them and the bridge piles have to bear a lot of water pressure
and i am afraid that once i am in the city i maybe cant get home again if the bridges are closed during the day -_-
one bridge is already closed:

Good Lord, if your route to work looks like that I don't think I'd go. Your safety is so much more important. x.o

Ther's nothing special yet, just the usual flood.

They talk about the flood on the news as it goes through several countries. I feel for you all. Stay safe!
-
BTW I live far from the river but now I can not use the cycling road to go to work.

@bright_glow - the USUAL flood? :) do you have them more often? we just have these once all 10 years, this time it was especially bad.
@all - rain has stopped during the day and the river levels are sinking again :)

Eeeyup that's the corner of the town and also the lowest part wich mean it lies in the flood area so the Donau use to flood it every year. Oh and it's still far away from the record high water level plus the town's other parts are lying on highground.

Yikes Zora! I'm glad your home is up high. I left Brissie right before the flooding in 2010/11 I couldn't believe the photos, my friends were all stuck at home as the closed the CBC. I hope they send everyone home before they close the bridge if they have to close it. Sending dry thoughts your way!
-
Wow!! I hope everyone is okay!

Flood is terrible :( I had my home flooded out in 07 and it was one of the worst things I ever went through. So much devastation and sadness. I felt terrible I could not help our neighbours more but we were up to our chest in water in our own home, and everything from that point down needed cleaning and / or replacing. It took us two years to recover from it, and we sold up and moved as soon as we could.
I would not wish it upon my worst enemy, I just pray that everyone stays safe and water side's for you all soon.
-
wow that flooding is crazy! I'm glad to hear that it has stopped raining. I'm glad your home is up high. If you have to leave your home be careful.
-
Goodness! Can't imagine they'd allow people on the road in those conditions.

stay safe
