Yesterday Funko put up a list of hints for their SDCC exclusives and two of them, #56 & 57, pretty obviously will be sparkly clear MLP vinyls.

Oh good, I can give it a pass. I really don't want any of the non-brushables and this year I didn't want to deal with the hassle of getting a SDCC.

I have no idea, but I'm hoping to either find someone to grab me one if there's one I'm interested in or grab one on their website if they do that with leftovers.

This may be an exclusive, but I doubt it will be the HASBRO exclusive. I'm sure they will make their own, not have it made by Funko.

That's what I was thinking as well. A Funko exclusive rather than Hasbro exclusive. Especially considering the prices. They're $15-$20. The $30 one being a two pack. The Fair exclusive is $50, which I believe is the same as the SDCC exclusive.

I love my sparkly Fluttershy and Dr. Whooves and it'd be cool to have more sparkly ponies though I'm not looking forward to how much I'm probably going to have to pay for them...
I think it is interesting that :muffin: Pony's hair in that picture is clear even.

I think it is interesting that Drama Pony's hair in that picture is clear even.
I'm not looking forward to having to fight for them either. My boyfriend would like the sparkle Bubblecup, but he won't be disappointed if he doesn't get her.

I just realized something... say they did make a clear glitter Rainbow Dash. Do you think her mane/tail would still be her regular color-separated rainbow design with it being translucent? That would be so pretty if they pull it off! ♥

Ooh, I want her (and RD if they're making her too)! :D I really like Drama Pony and the translucent ponies (both vinyls and brushables), though I don't own any yet.

This is a good question because I didn't read a limit to the number you can buy, but just that if you are attending you can preorder. So, if anyone is attending and finds out you can preorder more than one, and if that person is willing to set up an order for people not attending, count me in.
But if this is like the Hasbro exclusive pony, lol, nevermind!

Ok, wait can you buy them if you anrt attending the fair? It sales 'wholesale customers' too, dunno what that means. I hope people who absolutely cant make it to the SDCC this year can still order them from that page. I dont want to buy from ebay because it will be horribly overpriced..... Im a Funko Pony collector so this kills me if I have to attend the fair to buy one X_x

The pre buy is only for people attending sdcc/fundays and funko's wholesalers and is for the whole lot of all 57 exclusives. You cannot just pre-order the ponies from funko!

Well, I will pass on this. I don't really like ponies that don't have brushable hair. I bought the Dr. Hooves one because I don't see him being released as a brushable.....but I am thinking I may regret even that. lol

Lol- you and some of the others who don't want these don't have to "pass" on anything- these are SDCC exclusives- you can only get them if you are going to go out of your way to get them at the SDCC- or if you are a huge store and on their wholesaler list (which I doubt).

Ahh, well... back to crossing my fingers that the guy who got me SDCC Ditzy last year will go back to Comic Con this year! (And finally send me last year's pony)

Eeps, I need her for sure! D is the one thing I really love about the FIM series. My Funko D toy never leaves my side while I'm at my desk. :heart: Funko has a magical way of capturing the true spirit of characters through its toys.
I belong to the Funko community as well so I'm hoping to see some fellow Funko fans post a few for sale...

I agree. I'm not sure why they chose to go with Ditzy when they have a whole mess of ponies to choose from that they haven't already done or plan to do. Well, I guess I know why given her popularity, but still. :P
I'm eager to see who the second pony is but if it's just Rainbow Dash then I think I'm going to pass too. I hope all those who want them are able to snatch them!

Just seems like an amusing concept to "pass" on getting something that you would not have the opportunity to get anyway without a really heroic effort. (The only exception I see would be if you were already standing in line at the SDCC Funko booth to get other exclusives)
I do understand that you are not going to out of your way to beg people for them or stalk ebay for scalpers- I guess that's good for those of us who actually want them :biggrin:

And as someone mentioned you can pre-buy but you have to buy all 57 of the funko items available at SDCC

No- you can't prebuy them unless you are a wholesaler. Like a store. Or attending the SDCC.

As neat as the clear Ditzy Doo looks, I wished it was a different "new" character. I would have expected a Princess, Discord, Chrysalis, Alicorn Twilight, or even a early release of an future mane 6 character. ^^

I think that the problem is that Funko is a small company and the process of creating new toys is so time consuming. I think their products are taking longer than anticipated to create and get out (as evidenced by pushing back release dates for the new vinyl ponies and pop figures from April to June) Producing clear versions of the grey peg and RD is easy enough to do- and doesn't require a new mold. Of course we'd rather see something more exciting- but I'm not unhappy with the thought of getting the clear RD & D- since I'd love a matching set of clear ponies- they are my favorite!

I saw those too and I was thinking that if it pertained to ponies- it would say "My little vinyls" a "brand new vinyl" can be any of the vinyl toys that they make, couldn't it? I would love if it were pony related of course.

True although there are some clues, one being it's right next to the MLP figures below, two it doesn't say what type of vinyl figures, and three they are all the same price as the MLP Vinyls. It also would make sense to have a new exclusive I would think that isn't going to be available in Hot Topic stores.

Ahhh, I'm not sure, Ditzy's hair looks pretty clear in the photo. If they are fully translucent I'll definitely have to get them both.

I love Pop figures, I have a Martian Manhunter and am eyeing some of the new releases, especially the Disney and Star Wars ones. I think I'll keep my eye on the more attainable, and more importantly, affordable ponies and figures. Luckily my favorite ponies are more within my price range.

Does Funko have an online sale after SDCC? I would hope so! Since otherwise, I'll have to keep an eye out for them on eBay. ^^;

Gemini collectibles and other places like that usually have SDCC exclusives for sale after the event- they're probably marked up but not horribly. I mean, they are an "exclusive" after all- so there should be some challenge to getting them :D

I'm really excited to see what Lyra and PP will look like too. Last I heard, they were supposed go on pre-order this month so hopefully we can see soon. I'm really wondering if they are gonna make a sparkly chase for all the releases now....
part of me wants them to for consistency and part of me doesn't want to hunt/pay for them :huh:

So most of Dashie's mane isn't sparkly. But neither is crystal Fluttershy's or Dr. Whoove's, so I'm not that disappointed.
So to be clear: sparkly Dash, sparkly Drama Pony, and Vinyl Scratch are ALL going to be sold at SDCC? :blink:

the toy companies bring exclusives- companies like Funko make toys using licenses from MLP or Marvel or whoever- I actually really love Funko's products for the most part.
I will definitely be wanting the Funko clear SDCC exclusives- luckily they seem to make a lot of them so there is a good chance of getting them for a decent price after the con.

Nice to see a picture of the RD - although after seeing the transparent Drama Pony, I was sure it was going to be a transparent RD to keep her company.
