Is mrs cake and sunset shimmer going to be officially released? I just dont want to buy them loose if I can get them mib later on

Yes - Sunset Shimmer is already in stores and has already been up on the Hasbro Toy Shop. And Mrs Cake is coming in a story pack later in the year along with the little dark pink baby we have seen :)

I'm curious about this as well. I check Target and Walmart at least once a week, sometimes more, and I haven't seen any singles other than the CE main six with the tinsel in their hair. I haven't seen any of the ponies with the masks, so it's not just a case of Sunset Shimmer selling out before I find them.

I find that here in this state too. I don't know what it is but it seems like most popular chain store's in many states are not carrying other FIM sets, BB's, Masquerade singles or many Fashion Styles. It seems the only way of getting something different is online! Perhaps they are releasing exclusives only online than in the stores? I know its usually the other way around but I see an on-going pattern here and it is defiantly on Hasbro's business side of things. My hub is into some of the new G.I Joes that where coming out and the same thing has been going on with that line as well. They'll be around for a little bit and not seen again. Anywhere.

I have found that usually things that show up on hasbrotoyshop show up in stores 3-4 weeks later. Just when I get to the point of wanting to order them, I will find them so hold tight! They should be out soon I hope!

I hope Sunset Shimmer shows up in stores around here soon. She's $20+ on Amazon and I missed out on getting her from HTS because I figured she'd be in stores soon enough and I hate paying shipping. Unfortunately, from the dwindling pony stock, it looks like they have no plans on stocking any new pony merch any time soon.
Both Walmart and Target have the same stock. They have a few Crystal Empire main six brushables, the Luna & Rarity and Celestia & Pinkie sets, the Wedding Castle, that weird walking Pinkie Pie with the unfortunately placed battery compartment, a few Crystal Motion ponies and a few of the older mini 3 packs, like the Cloudsdale set. Oh, Target had about 20 or so 5" Rainbow Dash Funrise plush and Walmart has about 5 each of 10" Pinkie, Dash & Twilight. I haven't seen any blind bags in months. Target had maybe 1 box of wave 4 and Walmart had about 2 boxes total of wave 7, then nothing. And I don't even remember the last time I saw a Fashion Style pony in either store. It's quite sad, but it seems like the pony section of both stores is just gradually shrinking and nothing is being restocked.

Exact same orders here! I totally agree with shipping costs online, it really does add up. -_- I think the funniest thing out of all of this is the singles! They've release the main cores from the very start and the tinsels, but what about the other uncommon singles? None came out here in this state and I mean nada! The only places for BB's I find is at Target or Toysrus. I think everyone is getting antsy about series 8! Where are they? D: lol.. Maybe Hasbro is cutting down and they wont announce it because little childrens, avid collectors and ..men.. would FREAK!!! what madness!!

I think a while back some people mentioned finding her at Toys R Us in the U.S.
I'm not expecting Sunset Shimmer to be seen in my area soon, considering most of my stores are still stuck with the Crystal Empire singles, old Princess 2-packs, Design A Pony, Wave 4 or 7 BBs and what else that's been out for months already. My nearby Target did have the new Cadance/AJ and Princess Twilight/RD 2-packs, but most of the pony area is still filled with the old stuff.

I haven't seen the masked ponies yet either, but my Target just got in the new princess two packs with Twilight Sparkle so I am hoping the other ponies will show up soon.

*sigh* my walmarts just got in the CE mane 6 singles...I don't think Sunset Shimmer will hit the stores any time soon here. I got a MOC one in a trade (thankfully) but I would like to get another to open.

I really wish they'd go back to having several new characters each wave of the brushables like wave 3 & 4. I don't understand why they stopped that. It seemed to me that the new characters always way outsold the main six. Like when the wedding singles came out, Trixie, Lyra, Sunny Rays & Cherry Berry were usually sold right away, but the main six would sit on the shelves for ages. Now the Crystal Empire main six are just sitting around, not really selling.

You'd think Hasbro would of learned or noticed by now that people want NEW characters instead of just the main 6 (and princesses, to an extent). I remember back when Walmart had those Canterlot Wedding (?) displays with the four "free" posters, every single Walmart I went to that had that display were always full of the Main 6 singles. Even after about a month, I think only a few of the ponies were actually purchased.
If Hasbro had about...two of three straight waves that don't included the main 6 or princesses, that would be great. Even if they "had" to have at least Twilight and one other main 6 pony in the wave, it'd be better than just " Oh let's just re-release Twilight and co. again... but with NEW accessories and/or hair tinsel! "

Your right about the main six sitting on the shelves. This makes me want to keep tabs on the tinsel singles and other ones that have been sitting on the shelves for ages and see just how long it will take for stores to get rid of them. :lol:

If CE Rarity is the newer one with tinsel in her hair, I've seen her around a few times, but have seen CE Applejack much more in comparison.

I just got mine at Toys R Us. They jacked up the price to $6.99. Used to be around $5.50 for singles there. A bit ridiculous imo.

I'm not looking forward to trying to get Sunset Shimmer, or any of the new blind bag sets, etc. The Lyra and Trixie wave I saw at only two shops and they were all gone within under 2 weeks to never be restocked. I have never seen certain older ponies but have heard they're really common elsewhere in the country. The dedicated toy stores (even TRU) in my neck of the woods often have a worse selection than the supermarkets ¬.¬ I like the thrill of waiting for a new pony to come out but what's the point when you know shops near you won't bother to order them in because they're making way for another box of MoshiMonsters. Apparently Hasbro UK aren't as organised as the US branch but come on...
I'm hoping that her replacing Twi in the masquerade set will make her more common, but I'm not going to get too excited.

The playful pony wave is the basic set offered by Hasbro to distributors - if you have had the earlier waves then this one will come along. How many stores she makes, subject to stock levels of previous waves, is something you will need to keep an eye out on.

I hope Sunset Shimmer pops up soon, my Walmart, Target, and Kmart have the emptiest shelves right now. Well, empty except for the mane six and fashion styles :/ I think the mane six ponies have been hanging around for a while, since last time I've looked they were just $4.
This pony drought is sort of making my interest in G4 wane.

I got excited cause they finally sold out of the glitter blind bags at Walmart, I got super excited hoping that they would get a new wave, only to see a whole BRAND NEW box two days later. Ugh.
Very disappointing.
I order sunset shimmer off hasbro along with vinnie from the LPS show, who can not be found anywhere and was being sold on eBay for like 15-20 bucks(he was 4 on hts), so I logicked myself into paying the shipping, saying if I had bought him from eBay I'd be spending the same amount ontop of the price for the missed pony.
