Hello there,
Just wondering what the current value of UK Reverse Gusty would be.
She is in clean played with condition.
Yes she is real not a lya sharer custom or anything like that.

I don't think we could easily put a value on a legitimate one for various reasons - one is the prevelance of custom made versions, which does make it hard to verify the authenticity of one not tracked from the beginning. Also though, very few have been sold on open market, especially recently. When you get into that kind of scarcity, the market depends on who is looking and what funds they may have available at the time. Offers or ebay are really the best way to go.
Where did you acquire yours from?

The one I am enquiring about originally belonged to Delaneys who acquired that apparently from a UK seller who found it at a flea market.
We have had it for over 10 years, this is most definately one of those originals, another original was Wolfies. At the time, I think there was one other, though cannot recall at this stage since that was so long ago.
You are probably right far as putting it on ebay,

She is very difficult to price, but I would imagine she would bring at least $1000, if not $1500 or more. Taking offers would definitely be the way to go if you were to sell her.

as to value, I totally agree to go ebay or take offers here for awhile to give everybody a chance as I think the last legit one was over a thousand

If it was the one that belonged to the Delaneys, as far as we know that one is legit :) (that must have been a very long time ago!) When you sell though, any confirmation details you have of where she came from and detailed pics (of the inside as well if you can) will help reassure people she's the real deal.
I think there are three or four out there now - definitely three, but I think another may have surfaced since as well. It is hard to authenticate them though.

I paid $1200 for mine in excellent condition about 2 years ago, maybe 3 but I agree she is very hard to pin a value to.
I'm really interested in the fact that the history you have for yours pins her down to a UK flea market though, I think that's the closest I've heard to where this mysterious pony could originate from :)

i was hoping you would post sarah-bee as you are the most rescent person to buy an authentic reverse gusty.
i agree that there are only 3 that can be seen as authentic possibly 4 :)
i do think prices would start at around $1000 for her.

Have all the confirmed Reverse Gustys been tested by KCat? I have a reverse Gusty I bought from a lot on Ebay UK roughly 6 years ago, just wondering how the others have been confirmed? Thanks

Mine was confirmed when Stormy had her but I don't know via what means. PKW beheaded her at Ponycon to check too lol

No, I think the only one kcat tested was her own, and compared the glue composition to other ponies, which revealed it to be a fake. I'm not aware that she tested any of the others? Generally we work on the assumption that the two original ones, which were wolfchick's and the Delaneys' are real, plus another one that was sold on ebay UK in an unmarked auction by a non-collector.

I got mine from an umarked auction by a non collector too. I would like to know if mine is authentic? Mines looks like she has factory weave but she has no glue on her hair, does that mean anything? :huh: Is there a way to tell if she is a rehair or not?

I do somewhere, I'll investigate :) She does have glue though, just checked :) It's all rather neat in there so I remembered no glue lol

Yours is gorgeous too! The weave does look really similar. Is it possible to get that neat-looking weave without it having come from a factory?? I'm no expert in that department but I would say that looks like it was done in a factory :)

The only problem with reverse gustys.. Yes they can be faked to a point where one cant tell the difference. ckat has told us this much in this post.
The only way is to have ckat confirm based on glue testing. Since babydolls doesn't have glue in the mane I am not sure what ckat would need to do to verify authenticity.

I was lucky enough to get my money back from this notorious scammer. I still have the pony, she is amazingly well done.
Here's how she did it:
I think she took a UK NSS Gusty head and put it on a US Gusty body. Reverse Gusty has green eyes, only found on the UK NSS version, yet she has glittery symbols thus needing the US version. She flawlessly rehaired the pony! The only way I determined she was truly a fake was by analytically comparing glue samples thet were used to fully secure the mane to Hasbro MLP. She used a different glue than Hasbro, and was unlucky enough to sell this pony to a chemist!

I dont think it had to be a head body swap for the customised ones...after all Scandinavian Gusty has glitter symbols but the Movie Stars releases eye colour [only a minor shade or 2 of a difference]. So in theory could they not have been re haired Scandinavian Gusties [not sure of the plural for multiple Gusty]?

My Gusty's head was glued when I got her, I popped it open to take pics inside so Kcat could test the glue on the neck, if she is a rehair two different types of glue would have been used. Im also hoping she will come and post pics.

All i remember is that I got her from an ebay auction 8 years back. Here are the photos again.
Her mane weave looks a lot messier and her mane length looks longer than than the original from brickhaven.
Also the green stripe is just as long as the red and in brickhavens it is slightly shorter.

the inside of her head does look messy, but i have seen other G1 ponies with a similar mess inside too :huh:
it is hard to judge the mane length from the picture :(

I love these pictures so much.. I want to see more! It would be a dream come true to own her, but I dont want to even call her my grail because I know for a fact that I will never have her. :ack: :lol:

That's a custom rehair? The weave looks pretty regular to me. How could someone do that by hand? Yes, there are some loose hairs, but the weave still looks very even. We're sure this is an imitation? I guess you said the glue was different, but are we sure all true Reverse Gusty's have the same glue?

I never had her glue tested. Ckat did the testing on her rev gusty.
I am not sure she is fake but judging by the messy weave and her
Mane length that is what I thought.

it is possible to rehair using the weave method, it is tricky and takes time though. there is/was a customiser who used to use this technique on a regular basis, but i cannot remember her name :blush:
