What I mean is... are there any ponies whose faded pink hair (to white) you think looks... just as good or better than their original factory pink hair?
For me... I have a couple...
Steamer - I'm sorry but his contrast between the White/green hair and his body really strikes me. I don't like him MORE than with pink hair, but, I don't think white is a bad look for him.
Hippity Hop - WHEN deflocked - I think the white hair looks a lot better with her white bunnies than the light pink does... I like her with pink hair more when flocked, so soft and delicate, but with her magenta body, I gotta say I like white...
Fancy Flower - I saw a thread about a fading Fancy Flower who's mane and tail hadn't just gone light pink, but both were completely white, as was her earring! There was something striking about her this way... again, I don't like her more than with BRIGHT pink hair like factory, but it was very interesting...
Tornado - Yes I know my grail is to own a pink hair Tornado, but c'mon... his white hair matches his white symbol... I think it's a win.
That's who came to mind for me...
Anyone else have any ponies who they don't mind so much with white hair?
-
I think Flower Bouquet looks really good with white hair! :D
-
I do not mind Steamer with faded hair, he's pretty no matter what! I definitely think Tornado looks better with white hair, the pink looks a bit odd with the rest of him. I also love Hippity Hop with faded hair, much more striking, especially with a deflock. I will probably think of someone else later... :)
-
There are some ponies I definitely prefer with faded hair, mostly the ones whose body is pink to begin with.
Weirdly, I think I prefer Fancy Flower with faded hair as well. The pink just kinda kills the whole soft, pastely feel of her
-
I really like TAF baby Up Up and Away better with white hair. For the longest time, I thought she was suppose to have white hair
-
I agree with Steamer! He looks so dapper with white hair.
-
I adore all the fading pink ponies 100 times more when they are white! I haven't come across a single one that I like better in in pink. Yum Yum, Tornado and twilight ate my favorites.
Yum yum looks amazing with a white body and white hair. Something about that monochrome with spots of red is just so lovely to me.
Tornado, I agree with all the above comments, white is the winner.
and my grail of grails is a perfectly deflocked Twilight with Stark white hair. She's so beautiful with white hair.
-
I didn't realise that French Bowtie was supposed to have pink hair up until recently! I think (in the hopeful event I one day add her to my collection :P) I would prefer her with white hair, as it looks so different and pretty.
-
I have two G3 Minty's, one has faded hair and I think she actually looks better than the unfaded one.
-
Definitely! I was actually surprised to find that my DnW Snookums originally had pink hair, it looks so nice white!
-
I agree with the above statements that most ponies that have faded pink hair look better that way. This is one of the things as a collector that doesn't bother me at all :) I imagine there are some collectors that hate faded hair and have it as a pet peeve. Not me though ;)
-
My NSS Wind Whistler :)
I think French Bowtie looks nice with the white hair too for some reason.
Other than that once exception I prefer them all to have the pink hair they were intended to have.. (The pinker the better!!)
-
I don't mind either way. But I prefer it to be one or the other.
The weird, in between colours stage makes me cringe a bit. My g3 styling Pinkie is almost all white except for bits in her tail that didn't get the sunlight because it was in a plait. It's soooooooooo annoying! lol
-
There are a number of ponies I think look prettier with white instead of fading pink. Lickety-Split comes to mind (too much pink overall!), I'd love to have a Sweet Sundrop all in white too. I prefer Baby Cotton Candy with white hair over pink, it matches her symbols. n-n
-
I do really like hippity hop with white hair...
-
I will admit that I prefer the pink on most of the ponies mentioned so far...but the exception to that would be Lickety Split. I do agree that I think she looks nicer with while hair.
-
I really like Desert Rose with white hair...white hair, white body, tinsel...lovely!
-
I own a faded Posey and love her so much ! I think that white really suits her and makes it easier to not confuse her with Fluttershy.
-
Ooooh there have been a bunch mentioned that I also totally agree with....
Baby Cotton Candy for sure - the white of her symbol and white hair can be lovely! Lickety Split too, and I've seen a couple Posey's where her flowers have faded to white, and with white hair, it's pretty interesting color combo and works for her! I didn't know Tornado was supposed to even have pink hair until a few years ago, so - yeah some of them look pretty normal with white hair!
Some of the ones mentioned I haven't seen in white - like G3 Desert Rose, but I can imagine! I love that pony... but haven't seen a "monotone" version of her, I bet it's awesome!
I do agree with the "half fading" being odd! I've had some like that too, when I wash their hair and defrizz it you can really see that like, one chunk of the hair is much pinker than another... just randomness in sunlight exposure I guess?
-
I have a Love Melody with a touch of pink in her tail and a pretty white mane. I think it suits her. :lovey: It matches her symbols and it just looks lovely.
I think the one I'd actually seek out in white rather than pink would be Flurry. Pink-haired Flurry is still pretty, but with her white hair she looks way more wintery and it matches the symbol better.
Bunny Hop is another one that I own in white and didn't know was supposed to be pink. I love her that way!
-
I have a faded Steamer and I keep forgetting that his hair was originally pink!
-
I usually prefer the original pink, but Baby Nightsong looks pretty cute in all white (mine still has just a tiny bit of pink in her hair). With the tinsel she looks like she could be related to Princess Tiffany.

I do agree Tornado looks so much better with whte hair than pink. I find he looks manlier with white hair too. lol
As for other ponies....
Kisscurl - I always thought she looked like another Posey, but once she has white hair, she's a whole new character to me.
-
Total agree about Fancy Flower. She's one I'd like to get white haired.
-
Definitely Flurry, Lickity-split, Hippity Hop & Wind Whistler. :)
I'm on the fence about SS Twilight. I think white would only suit her if she was deflocked, that would make a lovely contrast.
-
I think Flower Bouquet looks really good with white hair! :D
Me too! I rescued mine from a charity shop but I think she's lovely!

Yes! I was just thinking this the other day. I think Lickity-split looks real lovely with white hair, it matches her ice-creams :D But then in a way, having the pink hair makes the ice-creams stand out more... tough call!
P.S. Sunlight-Lapin your Flower Bouquet is beautiful! ^.^
-
Sunspot seems to look better with white than with pink.

Sunspot seems to look better with white than with pink.
SDS I'd agree with that... I finally got one who's got her original PINK mane and PINK tail... honestly, I was like "Oh, well, so that's what she's "supposed" to look like I guess" - but I am so used to seeing her with white hair, it makes the tinsel stand out more on her...
-
I think on most ponies I prefer the white to the pink. Up Up and Away being the one that comes to mind first. I think she is gorgeous with white hair, and thought she was like that originally. When I found out she was a fading pink pony, I was horrified to think that she had hair that was any color other than white. lol.
-
I'm not a huge fan of pink, so I pretty much always prefer if the hair has faded to white. I'm weird like that.
-
Up Up & Away. I remember seeing the commercial for her when I was really young and wanting her because her dark body and WHITE hair made her look like a palomino. I was SO disappointed when I got her and she had pink hair.
Now it's the opposite though - ponies with pink hair better have pink hair if they want to stay in my collection, lol!
-
I originally though Mimic had a white stripe and I made adoptables of her that way for a little while. I eventually realized it was pink.
-
I hate pink, especially pastel pink - white is so much better...especially on taf sundance
-
I prefer pink hair in most cases, but I do have quite a few white haired ponies in my collection. I'm thinking about trying to re-pink some of them.
-
P.S. Sunlight-Lapin your Flower Bouquet is beautiful! ^.^
Awww...thanks! Yes, she was in quite a state when I found her and I've tried everything I can think of to sort out her hair but nothing has really worked! It was so matted and frizzy when I found her but I think she looks presentable now
-
Yes I have found I do enjoy the white hair on many of them more than the pink. Especially Yum Yum Taf.
-
I really like Tornado and NSS Wind Whistler with faded white hair. The blue with the white makes them look wintery. :)
-
Ooh ooh I thought of another pony, who I haven't actually seen like this but... I was cleaning up my Satin 'n Lace's today, Magenta and normal (and SS) - and I just thought, WOW wouldn't the magenta one (especially) look really awesome with white hair to match her white bells??
If anyone has a photo of any of the Satin 'n Lace's with white hair I'd love to see it!
-
I prefer Steamer and Tornado with white hair. I mean, come on pink is a little too feminine for these two manly boys! There are enough ponies with pink hair. I'm not a pink fan, so I definitely think at least these two should have had white hair to begin with.
-
Totally agree on Tornado. I was surprised when I found out he is actually meant to have a pink stripe.
-
I do not mind either way but I love Flurry with her white hair:) It just fits her:)
-
I do, I love white hair ponies!!! The first one that comes to my mind is that G4 pony that was posted with the white hair. She is so pretty!

Okay I've heard of this a few times, does anyone have a picture? I have NO idea what pony you're talking about!!

The white Fizzy Pop (http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,330297.0.html) thread that's been going on lately. It's lovely!
Since white hair is so rare on ponies nowadays, white hair gives ponies a nostalgic look that I love. But the pale pink is sweet too. I guess the solution is to get both?
Confession time, the first photo of a SS Sundance I saw was so yellowed I thought she had Posey's color scheme. I was almost disappointed to find out the truth...
-
OH my god...
That is so gorgeous!! :dropjaw:
Someone needs to make me a stand-in of that, STAT. LOL
