I picked up this amazing "Sea Fairy" in the Czech Republic at the weekend.

The detail on her is amazing. She is an exact replica of the ponyville mermaids. There were 3 different ones and each had a maritime sounding name. They were the size of a newborn cutie.
It just really made me wonder if they were really supposed to have been made and then the idea got scrapped? It costs a lot of money to make a mould like that, so did they take a discarded one? Also everything about it, from the assigning names "Hasbro style" to the removable hair etc. It seems like so much effort just to have a cheap fakie.
Here she is out of the box

Soo cute *must have*

Apart from the scale, the mould is identical to a Scootaloo Ponyville Mermaid. I'm guessing they can copy and rescale figures that already exist so I am guessing that this is what they have done.
She is super cute though! I like the fish in her eyes.

Yep, she has the exact tail mold as the scootaloo merpony. I love turning them into customs, I would nab up as many as I could afford! Great find :)

cool!

Dood! Why do all the best fakies show up in other countries! I would love to have a small army of these.

Oh wow! She is awesome! I wonder if they had decided to scale up the ponyville mermaids but ended the line instead? I love her. Congrats on an awesome find.

It's not unusual for fakie companies to upscale the mold of an existing official toy. I've got some knock-off transformers around who can vouch for that. I'm guessing they indeed used a ponyville merpony and made an up scaled copy.
She's really cute though! I'd be very tempted to pick one up if they were sold around here.
