Salamandra's survey said that she preferred traditional style ponies, and some of her ideas included "forests" and "monochrome". I really liked the idea of a forest theme, and after brainstorming for a day or so I came up with an idea, inspired by a small sketch I'd found online, but it wasn't really a traditional carousel. I was imagining a carousel horse that was a living part of the forest, and my idea was so nontraditional that I had to do a bit of changing things slightly (she was initially supposed to have branches overhead and be sort of held in with lower branches).

Other assorted details:
I have no idea what she started as, and I can't remember which colors I used for her hair. It's a mix of three shades of Nylon from DH and RDUS. Aside from her flowers, she's painted entirely in greens, and has some pearly and glossy accents on her foliage.
Her base is a plain wooden base, and her pole is a simple wood dowel. The grass on the base was done with a material usually used for dioramas and model train landscapes. The "tree trunk" and the tree's roots were done with Milliput (which I've decided that I don't like very much). The branches, vines, flowers, and leaves on her body were done with Apoxie.

I've got a few more in the works, as soon as I can clear some space in the workshop (there's literally 10 WIP ponies in various stages of undress at the moment taking up all of my desk) and buy some more bases/pole materials. Tiny sculpting = WIN

Finally I get to comment on this one, that I am soooo happy to own
I didn't even know what to expect when I had a note in my mailbox saying that I have a "big letter" in the mail... When I saw this I knew instantly that I have recieved my piece on this swap... and what a piece!
COG did a huge job on packing her, but still posting had done some damages, but nothing that some superglue won't fix ;) Now that mine is finally finished I can start fixing my beautiful forest pony!
Pictures don't come close on what this beauty is in the "flesh", detailing is amazing! And the theme... Thankyou so much, coinoperatedgirl, she is awesome!
